Pretty nice dachshund in the house. Beautiful geko in the shower. The most comfortable mattress during all our holiday on the island. The owner has pretty nice English, good to understand.

We have lived much better for less than half price on Mauritius . Extra fee for a air conditioner. Low kitchen line. The maid could be more careful about guests' things.

I have very mixed feelings after leaving this accommodation. Both Lena and Vivek are definitely very acknowledgeable regarding all tourist possibilities. The welcome was amazing and very warm and I really felt at home. They advised me perfectly about buses, restaurants,... We also had some nice chats about life in Europe during the stay. Rooms are spacious, big refrigerator with congelation is great for longer stays. Cleanliness is ok (I had to clean all kitchen equipment before using it, though), the balcony is huge (but sadly, very open, so I basically didn't use it due to rain and the balcony being all the time wet :() Kitchen is equipped ok, no microwave, I was informed I could get one, but it never came (no big issue for me, might be for somebody else). Some improvements would be welcomed, like proper curtains, as there is lots of light coming into the room during the night. It's within walking distance to all important places (shops, beaches,...) but it's not really super close, especially if it rains or it's very sunny... But the view is nice and it's a calm place. Everyday cleaning service, but there is a strange policy to bring the key behind the reception desk (so "it doesn't get lost and the cleaning lady can use it"). That would be ok if there was somebody at the reception. As nobody is overlooking it, any guest can take any key and enter your room at any moment. Didn't like this to be honest. Otoh, I really appreciated the possibility of a late checkout.

AC in my room was not working. Sadly, I learned it on Saturday night, meaning no one was available to repair it on Sunday (which I understand). So I spent 2 extremely hot nights before my departure without AC or at least a well-working fan. I was unhappy with the communication, as the host told me on Sunday evening when I got back, how he tried to do something, I should close all windows, put the AC on and it should eventually start working. I did, it made the room even hotter. When I tried to reach them to help me a bit, nobody was reachable till the next day at 10 am. While Vivek apologized and I understand it might have been just bad timing, I'm rather sure he knew in the evening it was not working and he could be sincere and offered me some solution then. There were many free rooms that night, where I could move just to sleep. I was also disappointed by the lack of communication during the crisis situation which happened. The authorities prohibited everybody from going out (under a fine of 100 000MUR and imprisonment) at around 5 AM due to torrential rains. It was completely unexpected and meant also there was nowhere to buy anything (I found one illegally opened place in the afternoon when the rain stopped, but that's another story). Anyways, I wasn't really informed about how serious the situation is, nor about the prohibition of going out by the hosts. I only found myself afterward. When I asked if they could help me with some food, I was informed they have "little eggs, but I could get some bread if necessary". Now, I'm absolutely sure they wouldn't let me die and would help if really necessary, but don't expect any nice gestures which would go beyond their basic obligations (like offering to share dinner,...). Offering an airport transfer for almost double the price I could get on Booking was also not very cool.

I loved everything about my stay here. The room was huge and well equipped with a lovely big balcony for drying wet swimming clothes and towels. The hosts were amazing and very helpful. I would definitely return here again.

I didn’t had water in the basin of bathroom, I used the basin in the kitchen, water in shower was normal, guess it was just a problem of the basin, will be fixed next time.

Auberge Miko is a cosy and authentic place. Do not expect luxury, but is still very charming unless you seek 5-star experience. What’s most important - Vivek and Lena who own the place are super nice and their hospitality is just awesome. Very welcoming and homelike experience.

Nothing to highlight. The place might be a bit too authentic for sophisticated travelers, but you still get very good offer the price.

I stayed there for four weeks. Thanks to the exceptional hosts Lena and Vivek, I felt like coming home every day. For me it was the perfect location for my little workation. The place is central in Grand Baie with a few minutes to walk to the water, the Super U and many restaurants around.

Everything was just perfect. Couldn't be any better! I had an amazing time here. Everything was easy to reach, the room was very spaceous with a lot of love to detail. You even have your own balcony. Our stay in Grand Bay could not have been any better! Lena en Vivek are truly the nicest people we have ever met. We had a nice apartment with a kitchen and balcony on the top floor with airconditioning and good WiFi. Everytime we got back from a day out, we were welcomed by Lena, Vivek and their cute dog Chili. They are happy to help you planning activities. We would definitly recommend this place if you're planning to go to Mauritius!

In Mauritius I spent about 11 months after various accommodations in the last 4 years. This accommodation is in my opinion absolutely the worst in the category. I believe that the level of accommodation and services does not correspond to the declared quality. 1 / dirt everywhere even after cleaning, cleaning 5 days was not at all, pillows very dirty and smell, covered with a coating 2 / cockroach 3 / no routine garbage service, they expected to carry out and do the service myself 4 / there is no microwave oven as indicated 5 / air conditioner works at all temperatures only with warm air, ceiling fan not working and additional fan on the ground in decomposition, when living under uninsulated roof horror 6 / cabinets with large odor and non-functional doors 7 / Equipment worn and low enough, damaged without repair 8 / kitchen only acquires on the counter and old gas stove, electric kettle and toaster. 9 / very steep staircase to the 1st floor 10 / water heat flows only in the morning, in the evening only cold 11 / I left 3 days earlier (paid 13 days stay) instead of tidy apology for not cleaning up the price for this accommodation is exaggerated and does not correspond to the declared quality If you expect a decent service and clean, the wrong choice. If you just want to talk to the owners and you do not meet the level of services and housing, the owners are friendly and happy to chat.
