lovely staff - Tiffany, Neow, Mario and Thong were all very helpful. it’s nice and quiet so only 4 bungalows so is made to feel like a good family atmosphere. food offered on request, laundry available, even had a party when there for everyone. very nice hotel to stay at in a lovely viewpoint. staff will offer to take you to places if you’re unable to travel

can be difficult for cabs to find as it’s location is a bit secluded. location is defo improved if you have transport already.

The Golden Teak has the charm of Thailand very relaxed atmosphere, dosn,t have the impersonal touch of the larger resorts. 👏👍

There is not much not to like I enjoyed my stay very much.

After two weeks of travelling around Thailand we decided on our last night to treat ourselves to a beautiful looking resort with a pool; unfortunately, it did not turn out to be the treat we had hoped it would be. To start with the positives, the room was exceptionally clean and well equipped, including a fridge, air conditioning and fans. The hut was beautiful from the outside, and the pool area looked lovely and was very pleasant to swim in – though there was a very strange instruction to ‘not stand on the pineapple art’ which took up over a third of the pool. Now for the less positive aspects of our short stay at Golden Teak. Despite us providing an exact address and offering our taxi driver the location on Google maps, it proved very difficult to find – there wasn’t a sign anywhere to be seen. Once we did finally arrive, we were greeted by an enthusiastic man whose hospitality bordered harassment. The man did however kindly said we could stay until 3pm the next day rather than rushing off sooner than required to get to the airport for our flight home. We were also welcomed by a pack of 7 over excited dogs who were yappy, nippy and had inexplicable red patches which we concluded must have been blood from somewhere. There’s a strong chance this was caused by the lady who repeatedly whacked the dogs with a bamboo cane. When we requested a taxi to take us to the beach front, after taking 5 minutes to actually leave on account of the dogs desperately trying to escape in the tuk-tuk with us, we were instead driven to a ropey looking restaurant that was clearly a friend of our enthusiastic host and had to argue with the tuk-tuk driver to take us to where we actually wanted to go. In the morning, the enthusiastic man offered to book our taxi for us and once again reassured us that we could stay until our taxi picked us up to take us to the airport.

The pool is lovely and we enjoyed the animals on the property. Especially Proxie & Bella, two adorable dogs and so affectionate! Tifany and Mario were both really nice and easy to be around.

A little far from the beach. 5 minutes by car or scooter but at least 20 minutes walking. The roads are not really user friendly to walk and way to many garbages along the way, so not so pleasant...
