Excellent location, very close to the center. Nice outdoor space and private entrance. Great layout and lots of space.

Good and clear communication with the very sweet and helpful apartment staff throughout our stay. Very comfortable bed and most necessities were found in the apartment. Great location in middle of Catania.

Less good was the bathroom that smelled a bit from the drains and it was quite noisy when people went in and out of their apartments or open/closed the gate.

Our host, Danila, she was amazing! Very kind and very helpful. Everything was easy. She was also always available on whatsapp. If there was anything we needed to discuss or if we needed any support, she was answering within seconds. Moreover, she and in general the people of Catania were very welcoming. Regarding our apartment Nr. H2: I was traveling with my parents and we needed a place for three people, which was not very easy to find in that price segment and area. Accordingly, Pietranera Apartments was the ideal option. The location was perfect and impressively quiet for being close to everything, even a night club! I didn't hear much of the busy streets. Moreover, the apartmente H2 has two bathrooms, one bedroom, one living room/kitchen with a comfy (but squeky :)) sofa bed and one canapé and a terrace; almost all the windows/doors have mosquito nets. The kitchen is equipped with the most necessary. You should not expect too much if you plan to cook yourself. It is certainly enough for the most important things. For example, it has a kettle and a coffee maker. However, it is recommended not to cook yourself anyway...you are in Sicily! Everywhere right nearby there are incredibly many restaurants with good and cheap food.All in all, our apartment can be rated as reasonably good.

In order for our stay in Apartment H2 to receive not only a rating as good - which is especially due to the hospitality of Danila and her team and their helpfulness - but to be described as excellent, the following has to be considered: - The bedroom was musty and despite strong airing and also drying or heating with the air conditioner it was not possible to get the mustiness out of the room. Therefore, it would be important to determine the cause and, if necessary, renovate the room. - Small repairs are due, such as the door handle in one bathroom or the toilet flush in the other or an outlet that should not be used because it will blow out the fuse. - And little things and thoughtful touches, which are only details, but ultimately decisive for a 10 according to my assessment: e.g. scented candles/sticks, plants, coordinated interior/furniture (incl. lighting) - in short, things that have to do with the interior design. Or also regularly fresh cleaning towels for the kitchen. To describe this "toughtful touches" evaluation criterion with an example: at first we had no floor towels for when we came out of the shower; we therefore thought there were actually none. It wasn't until our towels were replaced and we suddenly had such floor towels for our feet that we realized they were probably forgotten. Such things should be taken into account, which would increase the comfort in the apartment.

We had 4 nights in apartment with terrace H2, spacious 1 bedroom, living area and 2 bathrooms. Having two bathrooms is very convenient if you are more people. The place meets fully the expectations and looks exactly like the photos in Booking. The terrace is pleasant and secluded. The kitchenette has everything you need such as glasses and utensils. The Pietranera apartments location is perfect, on a quiet street just a couple of minutes walking distance from the Fish market and the main Duomo square. The biggest plus of Pietranera apartments is its manager Danila, extremely hospitable and kind, always available at any time to assist guests with anything. Also Danila gave us very useful information about good restaurants in Catania and recommendations for our trips to Taormina and Syracuse. After the check out time of the apartment which is 10:30 am, we were allowed to leave our luggage in the apartment next door which is used as a luggage room. This was very convenient for us as our return flight was late in the evening. Thank you for everything, Danila! We wish Pietranera structure good luck and every success in business!

The bathrooms have some things to fix and repair. Also the air conditioner in the bedroom does not work well which can be a problem in hot weather. We used it partly for heating as the weather was cool. Fortunately there is another air conditioner in the leaving area and it was working fine.

The apartment was in a great location, very close to the centre. It was off the main roads so was quiet, but only a few minutes walk to the plaza. Was modern and well kept inside.

The WiFi was weaker in the apartment we were in as it was further from the router than others.

- Localisation is the greatest advantage of this place, it’s next to the heart of the city (cathedral), the tourist attractions and good restaurants are in the neighbourhood - The place is nicely equipped, all kitchen appliances are in place, including coffe maker, microwave. - From the moment when I booked the place, I’ve been in touch with Danila who has been super helpful, responsive and nice! She has good knowledge regarding what/where. - Patio is lovely, I can imagine how amazing it is to use it in summertime - the apartment itself is really nice, quiet, spacious and comfortable (except for a couple of issues that should be improved- I mention them below)

There are two things that have been problematic for us: - The biggest drawback of the flat is its damp including mouldiness unfortunately. I can imagine it’s difficult to maintain proper humidity in historic parts of the old cities though, however maybe some more steps should be considered to at least remove the mould regularly. - Place would need some small fixing here and there: shower and patio doors not closing properly, curtains partially broken. But I want to highlight these are minor and won’t influence comfort significantly.

The location of apartment was great, near the central zone! The apartment had the essential things for a vacation, I found it clean and well-kept. The owner of the apartment was very kind and responded to my needs in the shortest possible time. I recommend to everyone Pietranera Apartments!

The location is good，central. The host was willing to help even though she doesn’t understand any English, but we communicated with phone.

The place is not very clean and the ventilation system in the toilet is not working, the room smells very humid and moldy.Hope they can upgrade the ventilation, it is not good for their own health!

Location was brilliant. We were walking distance away from everything with so many sights, restaurants and wine bars near. The host was very friendly and helped order us a taxi when returning to the airport.

I would have loved to have a set up in the courtyard outside so we could have enjoyed breakfast out there. The sofa in the room was really worn and we were missing wine glasses in the kitchen area. The value for money was good though and we would come back and stay in the same room again for sure.

Location was great! Owner got in touch with me shortly after the reservation and was available for all questions. Comfortable bed in one of the appartments.

We found there was no hot water in one of the apartments. It was very late (12 am) so we did not contact the owner. The next day we told her about that and it appeared that some 'hidden' switch was not turned on... In the same appartment the bed was kind of croocked. Lots of mosquitos in our appartment.
