Libyan Mare is extremely peaceful and private, set back from the sea road with a mountain right behind so it is very protected from wind. The gardens are beautiful and every lovingly maintained as are the villas kept sparkling clean and are very comfortable. The front verandahs from the living and bedrooms both look out over the sea and gardens, and provide both a sunny spot if you want one or shade if the want it - well designed. Our lovely warm hostess Chrisa was extremely kind and solicitous of our comfort and helped us with everything we needed. Great internet. Highly recommended!

This was a wonderful, airy, serene and comfortable small resort on the edge of Paleochora. The property and the pool were beautiful and pristine and felt quintessentially Greek. The beach was just down a short lane and the town an easy walk, either along the beach or by the road. Our hostess was very gracious and so helpful. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here on the south of Crete.

We arrived very early, around 11, expecting to leave the suitcases and come back but they let us into the apartment, which was a lovely surprise. Great start to our stay there. It's a little out from the town center, about 1k, but an easy walk, with a safe sidewalk almost the whole way. In the heat it did seem long sometimes.. Plenty of good restaurants and cafes, and our host steered us to her favourites which were great. The beach in front of the property is fabulous, great swimming and nice and sandy. Also several fab beaches (Grammeno, Gialiskari, Krios) within easy driving or boat taxi in the area. We opted to take a boat trip to Elafonisi but it's also drivable, about an hour. Get there early and leave at lunch, even in late May it was packed. But worth the trip. Loved staying here and felt truly welcomed.

There is no Kitchen or Bar anywhere , so even for morning coffee , need to take your car.

Kindest and very helpful owner, greeted us with a wide smile. A wonderful garden, and beautiful view, delicious coffee and a delightful snack. The apartment is nicely furnished and very tidy.

The location, the welcome, the view, the balcony terrace, the fabulous garden and pool. Perfect spot to relax and visit some places.

The living room downstairs could have been conceived with more natural light (That is subjective). Kitchen was more basic vs others places we visited. Though nothing to prevent you from cooking everyday.

Quiet calm peaceful. There's no provision for children so it's perfect for couples 10 minute walk to town taxis readily available for the €5 ride home. The owner couldn't be more helpful. 10/10.

The owners are very cordial and gave us the feeling of being good old fiends - they still have the authentic Cretan hospitality.

Wonderful location, property and pool area! Spacious accommodation, and very welcoming and helpful staff and the owners make every effort for a comfortable stay.. The apartment was cleaned every day and beds made, this is rare and very welcomed in self catering apartments.. Lovely sandy beach is only 5 mins walk, and the town 15 mins..

We had a late arrival, and the room was not set up to sleep 6.. however the staff made every effort to help once we entered the room..

The atmosphere is very peaceful, relaxing and warm. I liked the garden and the pool area. The host is very friendly and helpful. We appreciate this a lot. Everything, the beach and tavernas, are near. Really nice place!

Maybe a few more sunbeds are needed in the pool area.

We had a wonderful stay. The property has a very nice pool, the rooms are large and luxurious, very comfortable. very clean rooms, hostess was very accommodating. We arrived early and although the room wasn’t ready we were offered full use of pool and facilities.
