Lovely house, kind and approachable host, easily contactable at times. Free wifi, tv in room & sink.

Damp bed, dripping closet, cold, being told to go somewhere else mid stay, no one being around for check out/feedback when leaving, having to buy my own heating. Power cut mid movie, had to be fixed by another guest as the owner was out at a Christmas party. Needed 2x blankets to be able to keep bones from aching (disabled) and free from damp bed.

The house was wonderful, and the room was lovely and clean. The owner was super helpful and gave great advise to how to navigate. She welcomed us and showed us the facilities, and gave us some info about the surrounding area.

Very clean and the owner helped us with whatever we needed, and also instead of going outside for a cigarette every time there’s a balcony where you can have one which is very handy!!!!

I booked for the room only a single when I got there I was actually given a double room the whole place was spotless and Wendy the owner was great nothing was any bother and what a lovely lady I am booking again in September and would recommend the house to anyone looking forward to seeing Wendy again

Wendy was an amazing host as usual, and she always has a bit chat with her guests if you bump into her on the way in/out of the guesthouse. If there's one thing to say about Melrose that puts it above other guesthouses, it's that Wendy is always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Rooms are spotless, beds comfy, showers great.

It can get a bit noisy with doors slamming late night and early morning with people coming in and out of their rooms. But i guess some people are coming in from late night drinks and others are up early for contract work so not a big deal if you have earphones to help you sleep.
