We greatly enjoyed our stay at Red Pepper! We were there for a full week. The hosts were so sweet and accommodating. The private large rooftop terrance with hammocks and rocking chairs was our favorite and we spent a lot of time up there! The view was perfect. Our host was also able to book massages for us and the lady did them right on the terrance. It was lovely! Super close to the beach and surf breaks. Room stayed nice and cool and was very comfortable and cute. Outside kitchen was awesome. Loved hearing the waves crash. Would stay again when we return to Nica!

Unique place by the beach. Loved the beautiful cozy room and the hammocks on the private roof terrace. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hope to be back soon. Miss you already Mariken and Marc!

The hosts Marc and Mariken are super friendly and welcoming. The room is simple, clean, and has some nice touches of attention. The private balcony is fantastic with hammocks and a small table, and they have a couple of surfboards for rent. The location is great, walking distance to the surf break and some local restaurants. Marc however also cooks delicious meals himself!

Only twice a week a delicious meal from Marc ;) You can't get there by public transport (only if you don't mind walking 50 minutes or try hitch hiking)

The room and hammock terrace are great - really good facilities! It’s right on the beach and close to the other restaurants so perfect location. Short walk away from the main surf break. Highly recommend the curry/noodle nights!

It was slightly noisy due to the neighbours but there isn’t much red pepper can do about that! It would have been useful if the hosts knew a bit more about the tours etc that are going on in the area, a few times we asked about different tours they didn’t know anything about them even though there were signs advertising them in the kitchen - however they were lovely people!!

Honestly one of our favourite places travelling in C.America so far - we extended our stay and wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was so good, from the beautiful design, well organised communal kitchen with a simple system in place that is so clear it means everyone uses the kitchen well, fruit trucks come past daily, a small shop nearby. Only 4 rooms so it is small and other guests are friendly but its still quiet and peaceful and private. Loved our rooftop area with hammock. The cleaners are great. Easy walking to surf breaks. The noodle and curry nights are amazing! Don't hesitate to book this place - we can see why people come back, we felt so at home here :)

Really nice kitchen, great room with private vista, wonderful hosts!

It feels like it’d be excellent for couples, but it’s not as social for solo travelers.

This hostel is so cozy and well-designed. The shared kitchen is impeccably organized and more functional than most other hostels I have stayed at. Each room has its own private terrace with two hammocks and comfortable chairs. This was a great place to hang out during the heat of the day.

Amazing place, super clean and comfortable, great location. Marc and Mariken are great friendly and helpful hosts, and make the BEST curry!!

The weekly dinners are amazing and fun! The place is immaculate and you have a private balcony. The owners are just the sweetest.

There’s no bus or public transport. The ride to and from here is $30 each way taxi ride. If we had known We would have stayed an extra day or rented a motorcycle for the few days. Also if you are going to cook on site bring food with you they have a store here but it’s double the cost. The room gets very warm at night.

Everything! Our hosts, Mark and Marika were exceptional! Our private patio had a wonderful view with very comfortable hammocks, and the location was perfect!

The hosts were absolutely amazing. Super friendly, always up for a chat and were in all cases a step ahead of our requests (e.g. keeping our towels separate after check out so we could use these after surfing and dry ourselves off before we got into the car). The food they prepare on monday and wednesday is an absolute must, quality is fantastic and portions are big. The accommodation is lovely and meets all the things you need. Also it is very close to the beach and does feel like beach front property. The rooftop balcony with the hammocks and rocking chairs are amazing.

The property is well laid out and clean. Very smart cooling design on the rooms and a great rooftop deck with a view straight onto the beach. Everything you need in the kitchen and excellent amicable hosts! Will be back!

I really don’t have any negative comments

The private balcony was amazing to escape the heat, and the beach is right outside. Although we do not surf like most visitors in this area, we very much enjoyed the place! The setup with 4 rooms and a shared kitchen is also really nice, there's both sufficient privacy as well as room to chat with your fellow travelers. Marc and Mariken were superb hosts! Always ready to have a chat and help you out with anything!

Amazing place, the hosts are a very very nice couple, helping with any questions. The place itself is very clean and very nicely designed perfect balconies with sea views. For people who think where to sleep in Popoyo this is the place !!
