Rooms couldn't be locked, i could hear noise from other rooms

Location
Damp smell in room. Very basic. No kettle.
I did say I was checking in at 14:00.
When we got there we had to wait for them to start cleaning the room. Affected our plans and we arrived late because of that.

The shopping centre is walking distance from the guesthouse😍
The workers/cleaners spoke really loud in the morning😏waking us up

I liked the hospitality of the staff at the guest house and the cleanliness of the place
There is nothing I did not like because what they outlined is what is really happening, the place is very quiet so when you go there just know you are going to recharge as no noise is allowed but it's a great quiet place

The stay was comfortable, the room was perfect for me needs with a chair and desk, comfortable bed, nice bar fridge, a much needed standing fan and some lighting that still worked during power outage. The staff was very friendly overall.
The only inconvenience was the shower being a bit dated and difficult to keep a constant temperature with the hot water seeming to come and go while showering. The bathroom could use an update with a single shower mixer tap instead 2 seperate hot and cold water taps. The toilet needs a toilet role holder and the bathroom needs a towel holder for showering.

The cleaning staff, and the guy at the reception were friendly. Always smiling and accomodating.
When I arrived there was no parking in front, I had to park at the back, and the space was too steep and narrow. I asked the guy to assist me, he said if I can't park, I should cancel my booking.

Area closer to lots of attractive places
Room didn't have chair, lizard in dinning room. Ants in our bathroom. Bathroom had no tissues we had to ask receptionist, breakfast not wow, WiFi never worked, bedding was old bedding especially sheets.

The room was big enough and it was quite place to be able to get a peace of mind. The rules are very reasonable for the guest.
The was no milk and tea and the kettle had water that has been in there for days. Our room didn't have towels, but we were given after asking.

- the house was really lovely as is on the pictures
- they had a place that didn't have loashedding do you can charge and watch TV even with loashedding going on.
-the bathroom didn't have a place for the soap by the shower.
- they didn't have hand towels only big bath towels.
- the bed pedestal broke on the first day and we were accused of sitting on it and the promised to bring another and they didn't until we left.

The place has a lovely surroundings but units were not aired out. Lots of items not working.... smell in my unit toilet..was bad. Did mention to receptionist.

Everything as always was super.
Lack of a generator/ battery backup for loadshedding. No power on the evening I arrived there or morning when I left. Not blaming the property for the country’s loadshedding at all but feel maybe look into some backup perhaps.

We made last minute booking but When we got there, the minute I noted she is pregnant, the admin jumped and made sure the unit will be fixed and suitable for us.

The room was spacious and clean. It gave us enough space to walk about, exercise and just enjoy ourselves. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were soft and clean and comfy as well.
I didnt like the noise from the other guests. We could sleep because they were making noise, screaming and shouting at the top of their voices. Can you please manage your guests. They are not the only ones who use your facilities. Please ensure that they consider other guests.
