Big spacious bedroom and bathroom, very comfy bed and lots of little touches which all add to the enjoyment of the stay. Particularly nice to sit on the outside deck in the evening and share a drink with the very hospitable hosts. Nice touch to get guests and hosts alike chatting away sharing experiences. Lovely outlook over the garden too. A most generous breakfast on offer to start the day.

A quiet residential area but some very steep paths around the area and not suitable for all.

All good...no issues

Rayma and Phillip were so friendly. We enjoyed our 6pm glass of wine and chat. The breakfasts were great. It was perfect. We were picked up and taken back to our bus stop in the city

There was nothing we didn't like - we even enjoyed the long uphill walk back to Cobden Garden to wear off our evening meal.

Cobden Gardens was a lovely place to stay. Phillip and Rayma were exceptional hosts who made us feel right at home and were gracious hosts. The room was lovely - with plenty of room and a beautiful view of the countryside. It was close to the central business district restaurants and they even called to set up a dinner reservation one night. Each evening there was wine and snacks on the porch overlooking their garden which was a delightful addition to our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Napier and with Phillip and Rayma.

Beautiful house and room

Great guest house with old-fashioned service. The room and bathroom are gorgeous. Loved the evening drinks, conversation and fabulous breakfast.

Nothing however the stairs could be an issue for some people

Rayma and Phillip know well what customer service means, The wine, breakfast, and music were amazing.

We loved the view from our upstairs bedroom (and the sunroom next to it )of the mature trees in the garden and the sea beyond. It was a large comfortable bedroom with en-suite- tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh and generous as were the other offerings of wine and hors d’oeuvres before we went to dine in town. Returning to warmed beds(electric blankets on) and treats felt special. It was convivial to chat with the hosts and other guest . My special dietary requests were catered for easily. Rayma and Phillip were cheerful, thoughful hosts of a lovely historic home.

I was sorry we left before we had the chance to explore the garden, but enjoyed seeing birds and quail feeding there in the morning from my window.

Review from my parents who stayed in the weekend ❤️... It was the best place we have ever stayed in, better than any hotel! Fabulous, caring and warm hosts. Rayma & Phillip welcomed us to their beautiful home and gardens and told us the history of their home. Our room was so lovely, with a comfortable bed and nice ensuite. All the extra things they did were amazing, such as turning our bed back and leaving a nightcap drink and chocolates while we were out for dinner. The welcoming drinks and delicious canapes and excellent company were greatly appreciated. The superb breakfast, it was far better than any hotel breakfast. Thank you so much Rayma and Phillip, we can't wait to return again!! 🤗

The breakfast was excellent and a great start to the day. The menu was extensive and the cooked breakfast chosen was faultless.

Beautiful character home with decor to suit and lots of antiques to appreciate. Well maintained gardens and wonderful outlook to enjoy the complimentary wine and hors d’ouvres we were lucky enough to receive on the deck!

The hosts are some of the most amazing, generous and friendly people you can meet. They make a real effort to ensure you have a great time. The breakfast is amazing with so many options, cater for different diets and taste great. The rooms were very comfortable with lots of finishing touches to make sure you have everything you need. Highly recommend
