It was spacious and clean.

We were expecting a proper balcony to have a good view of the mountain and the city center but very disappointed on this. We don’t have any door access to the balcony and no view of the mountain from our windows. The bathrooms drainage is not draining well, it’s collecting water while having a shower and it takes a while for it to drain.

Wir (2 Erw./3 Kinder) bewohnten eines der Apartments im DG/4. Etage (Zimmer-Nummer 402), Lage des Hauses direkt am Beginn der Fußgängerzone (Laugavegur), Supermarkt 150 m entfernt (Bónus), 2 Bäcker im Umkreis von 50 m, Parkmöglichkeiten besser als erwartet (>> kostenlos an Kirche/Hafen oder ab 21 Uhr kostenlos in den umliegenden Straßen), superschöner 270 Grad-Ausblick in Richtung Wasser (Norden), Hallgrímskirkja (Süden), Fernsicht (Osten), schöner Süd-Balkon mit Blick zur Hallgrímskirkja (konnten von dort und durch das Dachfenster sogar Nordlichter sehen), Apartment ist schön eingericht und es entspricht den Fotos, haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und ausgehend von Reykjavik 3 Tagesausflüge unternommen (Golden Circle, Snaefellsness, Reykjavik/Reykjanes), reibungslose Kommunikation mit Vermieter per SMS und Booking-App, allerdings keinen persönlichen Kontakt (Zugangscode für die Eingangs- und Wohnungstür erhält man einen Tag vor Ankunft zugeschickt), Spülmittel/Spültabs für Geschirrspüler und Senseo-Kaffeepads sowie Teebeutel für die 3 Tage Aufenthalt als Erstausstattung vorhanden, nette Geste, dankeschön!)

Zugang zu unserem DG-Apartment und zu einem anderen Zimmer erfolgte von der Haus-Rückseite, dort ist es etwas unansehnlich (aussortiertes Kücheninventar von eines der umliegenden Restaurants, Müll auf dem Gehweg im Eingangsbereich), Zugang zur Wohnung nicht ausgeschildert/lediglich das Eingabefeld für den Tür-Code lässt darauf schließen, Treppenhaus nicht sehr sauber und etwas unschön (Putzmaterial/Staubsauger/Kinderstuhl stehen herum), wünschenswert wäre eine Ablage für Duschgel/Shampoo in der Dusche, so dass man dies nicht auf den Boden stellen muss (>> minimale Investition, großer Effekt), Eierbecher/Schnapsgläser nicht vorhanden

We liked the location and it was warm & clean good .

The only thing when we arrived in Reykjavík there was no electricity in the city So we could not get in to our accommodation at all because we had to type in a code to enter the building so we were left on the street wondering what will we do . So no key no person around to help us only we had a phone number from the form on booking .com . After a period of time the electricity came back on and we got in . But it was very clear we were on our own if the electricity did not come on . We would have to have gone to fine a hotel to stay in . With a power cut no one reached out to us by e mail or phone call . So I did ask for a key when we did get in but no joy with that , as I was left thinking is this going to happen again during our stay over that week .

The location is great, as its on the main street, all the main sigths are in 15 min walking distance. There is a bonus supermarket near by and lots of bars/restaurants.

Location and cleanliness.

The lock system needs updating. We got stuck outside for a long time delaying our plans, but the customer service did their best to fix it.

Location cannot be beat! Right on Main Street. Lots of places to sleep on inside the apartment. We loved walking everywhere. Definitely would stay again beside a few minor things that can be improved.

Lots of seating areas were under slanted ceiling so you can’t really seat there. Outside of the apartment looked a bit ghetto with graffiti, etc. Cleaning of bathroom could have been better. 4 flights of stairs were a bit tough. Parking was impossible.

Location

Facilities were horrible for the amount of money I paid . The bedroom door handle was broken so couldn’t close door without handle dropping off and making a loud sound. No lock on bathroom . Pretty much has to sing my way to let others know I was in the bathroom. Toilet paper roll holder broken. Toilet paper was on window sill . Just one napkin for 10 people. Not enough linens. The bathroom sink had dead bugs on it (don’t know if house was cleaned even ?) No extra pillow or sheets in closet for sofa bed. Had to call everyday to fix door code and had to even wait for doorman to fix the door messing up my sightseeing plans. We booked two rooms together hoping atleast same floor or even same building but this was ridiculous on the fourth floor attic place. The roof was right above our heads and so the pillows had to be moved to the other end. No point of house keeping setting up beds because they had to be redone. There was inadequate lighting in the apartment#402. I was traveling with theee couples that were 65 plus with knee issues who could not climb 6 flights of stairs. Our party had to be split up because of the way the apartments were allotted to us. What was the point of booking them together ? It has been the worst stay of my life for the money I paid when we could have chosen a different property on the same street for lower price. I never write negative reviews for anyoone, because I give them benefit of doubt for May be a bad day. But this was beyond any expectations and none of these issues were resolved in the THREE nights we stayed there. I took pictures of everything if you need evidence for it .

Great location! Noisy neighbours upstairs (12am to 2:00am all three nights!)
