House clean ... pool was big to many leaves but did best to clean.

The house was clean and spacious. Cookware, seasonings/spices and eatery were all provided, as well as toiletries and towels. The pool was amazing also.

The entry could have been a little more spruced up and welcoming.

The good: The house is centrally located and not far from a grocery store by car, roughly 1 mile. It is about 4 miles from the ocean. The house is fairly comfortable and the kitchen is very large. We were concerned because the house looks so rough from the entrance - garbage piles and over full trash cans, no grass, (mostly dirt), a broken gate, and dirty entranceway, dirt on the walls and door frame. (see photos) Also the neighborhood didn't look very safe. The house is better inside than outside but it's very dated, and maintained at a minimum. There is always a risk when you take a private home rental but we thought we could live with it and get on with our vacation. We were VERY far from home. (Italy)

The Bad was very Bad: Unfortunately when we were at the beach someone broke into the house and took money and personal items. They used the front gate and left the back door open. We contacted the property manager and they said it was impossible, could never have happened, and to do whatever we wanted about it. The door has a code lock, no key, so between that, the broken gate and the broken latch on the back sliding door the house is quite unsecure. Other problems - This is an old, unmaintained home with strange management - the pool is in poor condition, we were tasked with removing the previous tenant's garbage, and the property management was unavailable in person, and completely unconcerned for our safety, in a very unsafe neighborhood. If you expect a different experience you should not rent this house.

The location was good slightly away from places we went to but I knew where it was and understood that. The fact that it was completely fenced in was nice for the added security and privacy. We had six people so the roominess of the house and property was also nice.

The biggest problem I had was the pool. In the description it advertised there was a pool and the pictures showed the pool and so we thought by having that we could really just hang around the house more than go out. The pool is equipped with two skimmers. One was inoperable and the other filled with leaves and debris so much I doubt it was working well. The property has a lot of wonderful trees and plants that really need attention like maybe trimming. The trees where shedding leaves by the minute so much so we had to use the skimming tools the entire time we where in the pool. I could have stayed home to work. The house furniture and window treatments where slightly dated that was not a big deal but when you close a curtain only to be hit by the rod holding them up kinda made you feel like maybe this place needed a good looking over but we didn’t have far to go because the lamp in the dining area while I’m sure at one time was very pretty, looked like someone kicked it around and threw it in the dirt. Again these were not major issues but the pool was only because it’s advertised as a nice bungalow with a pool. Also the deck and furniture around the pool were covered in leaves and tree debris and I also cleaned that up several times throughout our stay. All photos taken while there where added to the message area of the app and several messages to the owner of the property as well.
