Took my colleagues for a two day strategy break and perfect location

This property was ideal for us. We were celebrating a big birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better set up. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful, the pool is a dream and everything is very well set up to cater for a large group.

It was fantastic. The house is stunning and a very well equipped kitchen. There were a few issues with some of the toilet facilities (not closing properly/ 1 broken shower head) but there were plenty of other bathrooms to use so wasn't a huge problem.

This amazing time away was planned for family members and bridesmaids a week before our daughters wedding. My daughter in law found this beautiful house and I booked it immediately. What an amazing house for a family get-together
The house was warm even in November, but we lit a fire just make it cosy. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax.

Lovely house
The house was lovely and just right for my birthday celebrations. There were a couple of things that need seeing to: one of the light fittings in the kitchen diner area isn't working, and the fridge kept leaking. We think the latter issue might be because it needs defrosting so this might be advisable as soon as possible. The main problem was the heating and lack of hot water. The house simply did not warm up and many of my guests had to have cold showers. I imagine this is probably due to the age and size of the house, but the Hive wireless system gave the impression that the heating was quite modern and it didn't feel that way.
Aside from those issues, the rooms were decorated amazingly and the huge dining room was just the right size for all my guests to sit together and eat. The pool was great, and having the miniature railway and fairy walk next door was wonderful for the children.

Beautiful house
Large house for our family gathering of 15. The house and gardens were true to the pictures. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and equipment. Bedrooms were spacious and beautiful. Children loved the pool and the games room with poker and backgammon was well used in the evening. Would highly recommend for a large get together

Lovely country residence. Very homely and peaceful. Lovely atmosphere, in beautiful surroundings.
The Practitioner Doctorate in Sustainability department, from the University of Surrey, recently held a Writing Retreat at Audley End, Saffron Walden. This large country residence was perfect for this. It is quiet, situated within a large garden with a lovely heated swimming pool at the top of the property. Bedrooms are large and airy, so there is space for sharing. With 4 to 5 reception rooms, there is lots of space to spread out. The formal dining room is a stunning setting for a celebration. Online food delivery went smoothly - Waitrose, Tesco's and an Aldi's in the area. Would happily return.

The property is amazing and facilities were good
Although the property owner Mark was approachable and helpful , the staff who came to check the property on the day of our exit was extremely rude and shouted us for taking a group photo in the garden.

I totally forgot about the guest book on our departure, so wanted to post something on here so you were aware of how much we appreciated everything the house had to offer.
In particular the grounds and the swimming pool area were a favourite with our group - we got so lucky with the weather too!
But even without the above we all agreed it would be an amazing place to stay with our families. The rooms are all very spacious and the facilities fantastic. And all within a short walk of Saffron Walden, which is a very picturesque place.
