I arranged a get together with my elderly sisters (82,79 year olds) one of which is recovering from heart surgery, to meet with our brother who lives in Rotorua. We flew in from Auckland, our brother picked us up and took us to the motel, we checked in then went out for dinner. Our brother dropped us back at the motel close to 10pm. At bedtime my unwell sister slept in the bedroom on the double bed, the other sister on the single bed in the lounge, and I on the pull out sofa bed, but…could not find the linen for the sofa bed, the reception office was closed so we just did the best we could. I had the top sheet from the single bed and the spare blanket from in the wardrobe, thinking I’d get the linen in the morning, no problem. The person in the office was so rude to me insisting that there was enough room for 3 people and refused to give us any linen. We went out for the day and on our return, again I politely requested linen for the sofa bed and explained again our sleeping arrangement.

Room in need of repair. Holes in wall in bathroom, (badly repaired), holes in stairs leading up to room, room shook every time a truck drove past & staff had 2 domestic physical altercations during my stay

The Hot Tub was amazingly relaxing
The place wasn’t sanitary cupboards dirty drawers were grimy sink had mould stains, towels dryer/hanger had orange paint over it.

Although the owner could hardly speak English she was sweet.
It was dirty, the photos were so old the place doesn’t look like that anymore, the spa bath took so long to fill it was cold, Rated as a 4 star place but was really only a 1 star. heater didn’t work.

It was suited well for a large family on a budget, lots of space, had everything you needed and warm and cosy. Clean and inviting. Liked having our own private spa.

Good location in the city and ok to find. Outdoor Hot spa was very private.

The unit is nicely laid out. The spa out under a lean to was great.
1)The skirting boards in the bathroom were very dusty. 2) The Venetian blind in the kitchen is filthy,3) Elements on stove top only go on full no matter how low they are turned down. 4) No tea towel to dry the dish's. 5)The toaster had a whole biscuit inside it.
With the exception of the lovely cleaning staff there was basically no one that spoke English which made things very difficult to communicate.

That knowone came to give us to give more towels and didnt have rubbish bags for our over following rubbish! and language barrier!
