Great time. Plenty of space. Great Beaches!

We had the best time at Villa Del Mar. Rebecca and the house is staff is simply amazing! The chef Omar and Sous Chef Joel día a beautiful job preparing our meals, our guests couldn’t stop telling us how amazing the food was. Our bartender Jose prepared the most amazing passion fruit mojitos and drinks. Their attention to detail is remarkable. The cleaning staff is also on point, the rooms equipped and cleaned just like a 5 star resort. We couldn’t be happier. We had an unforgettable vacation.

So we stayed at Villa del Mar as a group of about 25 friends, after my husband and I got married in the city. AMAZING does not even begin to describe the experience. For starters, Rebecca (the property manager) is wonderful. She coordinates everything in advance for you, and has a list of activities with great vendors to work with. The staff at the villa are also phenomenal. We paid Rebecca in advance for our food and drinks, and the Omar always had delicious food ready and Jose had great drinks prepped. The villa is in pristine conditions, the rooms are gorgeous, and the beach is beautiful. Only thing is beware the mosquitos… but being a beach front property with an open concept, there’s really no getting around that aside from lots of bug spray haha. Overall, one of the best experiences we’ve ever had and would love to stay again! Thank you Rebecca and Shauna for everything!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa de Mar. We were five families with kids ranging from 2 to 12 and had plenty of space in the villa. The villa had everything we needed and we only left once or twice - pool, beach, spacious outdoors, amazing staff and chefs, and a really incredible property manager that was super responsive, easy to communicate with, and had the perfect level of supervision and hands off so we can relax. The staff/chef crew were so nice and helpful, and their food was delicious. The property manager also helped us arrange a catamaran excursion, which was a real memorable highlight! 5 out 5 stars. We will definitely be back!!

We had 24 of our family and closest friends come to villa Del Mar to celebrate my 50th birthday. Ages 14 - 77. We charted a bus from Santo Domingo and upon arrival our breath was taken away by the beauty of the property. We were greeted by all the staff with cocktails and appetizers. Everyone was very happy with the accommodations. Three meals were served each day with the ringing of the bell. To this day we are waiting for the bell to ring to eat 😁. Food was amazing!! Chef Omar and team did not disappoint. We chose fresh fish for most dinners with a pig roast one night. Our clothes were cleaned each day along with our rooms. We never lifted a hand. The house was perfect. Big thank you to the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. We caught a marlin and some Mahi one of the days the the staff grilled up some of it and made ceviche with the rest. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here with friends and family for our Wedding. It was unbelievable in every way. Rebecca helped me with questions and activities from 6 months out all the way to the day of. All the staff is amazing. We had 2 under 2 years old with us who loved the pool, and the beach. But be aware the house isn't made with safety of little kids in mind. That being said it has everything anyone whose staying there will need. If we can make it happen, we'll be back someday. One word, AMAZING! Don't hesitate on booking this beautiful villa! The property and views are just spectacular! This house is so spacious that even staying with 25 friends didn't feel crowded! And the staff are the icing on the cake! Our cooks, Omar and Joel didn't make a dish we didn't love! Every single one of us enjoyed every meal they made and couldn't wait for the next! Make sure to try some of the Dominican dishes too, you won't be disappointed! Our bartender Jose was amazing, serving us every drink we wanted and making sure we had what we needed every day! He even packed our cooler for our boat trip! Miguel our driver was so sweet too and joined us on our waterfall hike to El Limon! As we hiked in the pouring rain he was right there guiding us down the trail safely! The cleaning ladies are like magicians, I rarely saw them but somehow every room was cleaned daily and on the last day washed our clothes!! We had masseuses come in two days and every single person said it was the best massage they ever had, so make sure to arrange that on your stay for sure! And I also have to mention Rebecca, the house manager. From the beginning she answered every question and helped me organize our stay! It's not easy planning for a large group but she did a fabulous job guiding me! She is a gem and it was so nice to meet her and her sweet new baby in person! It truly was a trip of a lifetime and I will never forget it!

This was absolutely, hands down, the most amazing experience ever. & I say experience because this is not just a house on a beach with a pool, endless bathrooms and amazing bedrooms facing the waterfront. This is a house more amazing than the pictures filled with the most wonderful, talented and fun staff. The chefs (Thomas, Omar and Joel) made us the most delicious food ever. Everyone enjoyed every single meal including our most picky eater. The bartenders (Jose and Joanna) made us the most yummy drinks and were ready to keeps the shots flowing for us when we were ready. On the mornings I may have indulged too much the previous night, Jose had a fresh coconut cut ready to drink so I could rehydrate. The drivers (Miguel and Aljeni) were so helpful in taking us into town as needed. Miguel took us to El Limon waterfall and was sweet enough to not only transport us but hike the fall with us after my group decided we were too stubborn to ride the mules and wanted to walk it instead. We wanted to go out in town and check out a festival going on and decided to go out clubbing after. Aljeni was sweet enough to take my rowdy group out where we had the best night drinking and dancing. The housekeepers are magicians! This was our running joke all week. It was extremely rare that we’d see them working but in what seemed like minutes from leaving our bedrooms and returning all would be placed back in order with fresh bedding, laundry and clean bathrooms. Everything was phenomenal! Other activities we did were take the catamaran tour. 10/10 recommend! Omar made us snacks to take on the boat and Joanna packed us some drinks. It was lovely visiting other beaches, swimming in the middle of the ocean and sun bathing on the boat all day. We had the masseuses come a few days so everyone in my group could get a massage or 2. Everyone really enjoyed their massages. A few of use decided to try reiki massages with a wonderful woman near SO beach club Rebecca recommend. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Highly recommend! A few things to note for future visitors. While very obvious from the pictures you may not realize just how open this property is. & with that openness comes all the critters. I’m not sure why I didn’t take the previous reviews serious when everyone complained about the mosquitos. BUT LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES AND TAKE IT SERIOUS! this was the worst part of the trip. We were all bit to nearly death by mosquitos. Bring your bug spray! It’s not optional.

This feels like a private resort. Las Terrenas is amazing, but this house and staff completely change the game. Cannot say enough great things. Also, Rebecca is a fantastic host, and she can help you find whatever you might want or need to make your stay perfect.

There were 27 of us at this Villa. It never felt crowded. The space is enormous. The house is tastefully decorated, very clean. It needs some updates, as it is beginning to show signs of age. The pool, beach and lawn space are magnificent. The beds on the lawn, a gorgeous place to take afternoon naps, even during rain, as you are well protected from the elements. The staff though, there are no words to describe Omar, Jose, Arjenis, Yenni & Bruni. Without them, this villa would be just another house. From the most delicious and fresh home cooked meals to the fruity concoctions of mixed drinks, the perfectly made beds and fresh towels in my room every day. The staff was beyond magnificent. Watch out for the pool area, the floors are dangerously slippery and we had quite a few near falls. The staircase needs a railing, it’s also completely open and an accident waiting to happen. I would visit again. It was a great space for a massive amount of people. The house manager Rebecca was great with helping connect me with nearby vendors for a few special requests. Villa Del Mar was a hit.

We celebrated my 50th birthday at Villa Del Mar and brought 15 of our close friends with us (17 adults total). It is located on a practically seclude beach and it is by far the largest beachfront in the area. The house is everything in the pictures as promised and more, but the true beauty of the house is the people. Our host, Rebecca, answered every tiny question my wife and I had. My wife will admit that she can be meticulous as it is the nature of her work, but Rebecca kept up and every demanding wish was fulfilled and upgraded. We asked for a restaurant and she brought us an incredible chef’s table experience that will never forget by Chef Alfredo Rueda. We asked for dancers and she got us dancers who taught us how to dance Merengue and Bachata. We asked for a cigar roller, and got an in-depth explanation on cigar rolling from a talented local cigar roller. The staff in the house is top notch, the cleaning ladies were extremely thorough and kind. The driver, Miguel, took a few guests to El Limon which was more work than they expected and he helped them up and down the crazy hike. Jose was loved by all our guests and served as our invaluable go-to-guy while making us delicious fresh fruit drinks that we could not get enough of. If we could have, we would have taken Omar home with us. We asked him only to make us traditional Dominican food for our entire trip. In the end, he had converted all 15 of our guests to Dominican food lovers - something that could not have imagined. The one watch out for next time that we noted was the mosquitos. Be sure to buy a bunch of bug spray when you get there. All in all, this was truly this was a trip of a life time, we are so thankful for this experience and for Rebecca and her team who really were the jewels in the crown of this gorgeous home.

Easy , peaceful, beautiful, comfortable and great fun with family

Property is absolutely breath taking! Words can’t describe enough! We arrived in the evening and the view was awesome! Everyone’s jaw dropped! We were a family of 18 together with Ages from 6-70! Rebecca, Omar & Jose, Miguel, Tomas & Yenni and all of the staff in this villa are exceptionally talented and friendly. I can’t even think of one complaint about them. Initially, the house manager was Martine who was amazing, and she didn’t speak much on the phone or direct English but had her son communicate with me who was in Canada! This shows how devoted they all are to their job and how committed and the level of customer service. Anything we needed or requested or asked it was there for us. Rebecca was on maternity leave but made it a point to make sure we had all the things and came to meet me as well. We will recommend anyone going to make sure there is enough mosquitos spray or band they carry with them and if not you have Jose who speaks excellent English and will take care of it for you! Villa Del Mar can never be a wrong choice! Best location, awesome villa and phenomenal staff!

I have traveled to over 100 different countries and I have to say the hospitality and the graciousness were above and beyond. We booked the house for my daughter's 18th bday and graduation celebration. We brought her closest teen friends and I brought some mommy reinforcements. Here are the words the teens chose to describe the staff: Attentive Welcoming Generous Entertaining Helpful Selfless Muy Bien The house is beautiful and clean but needs a few updates. They need to replace mosquito nets and need to spray for mosquitos regularly. This was the #1 reason the trip was not 100%. I consider OFF the Eau de parfum of the Domincan Republic. Secondly, I realize this beach is in a compound and the beaches are secluded but are still public. They prohibit motorized sports in the ocean which is to keep the noise down. I think security should keep music to neighbors homes to a comfortable level especially since the houses are open air. AC works well in the bedrooms could have uses aome more portable fans in the common spaces and in the masterbathroom in June. The chefs Omar and Tommy are spectacular!!! The menu options and flexibility were incredible. Steak, shrimp, lobster, whole snapper, pasta, roast pig and the national dish Sancocho. I want to bring them home. This side of the island is European which means that it is not big resort style- stay within the walls like most American resorts. Miguel can drive you into the town and shop and participate in the hip nightlife at Etno and salsa dance at Babylon. Surf school at Carolina's is a must. Catamaran is beautifully maintained and takes you to secluded places. We asked about stopping at a place for lunch but at this service was not a possibility when we went so we had the chef pack our lunch for the day. There was no seaweed and there was not one bit of plastic or garbage in the water. The beaches and the water were gorgeous!!! As for security, they were around and quickly available. So even as you slept with the front door wide open and the house open the the beach it was safe and secure. Lastly the abilty to communicate and to get things done or to order or book anything was excellent. The housemanager Rebecca was topnotchShe had a baby the week before we arrived and she was still super accessible and was so helpful all throughout our trip. And Jose,who has an amazing personality, brought everything we needed before we even realized we needed it. Thank you!

This property is absolutely beautiful and as pictured. The housekeeping staff are a dream come true. Contrary to other reviews, Jose and Omar are NOT amazing. We checked in on Easter weekend. While we recognize this is a very busy Holy week, we do not believe that should have ruined our check-in (especially considering we pay more for this week). Kitchen staff did not have drinks for us, as was promised, there was no welcome snack and dinner was served over an 2 hours late (that was 20 starving women!). We were told by the manager, Rebecca, who was wonderful, that they would make it up to us...this sadly never happened. Meals were often later than scheduled. We consistently had to request items by taking our own inventory (rather than them proactively asking), the driver was non-existent and did not make his services known, the bartender acted as if it was an inconvenience to make us drinks. He watched us pack our own coolers for the beach (chopping up ice that had frozen to our drinks in their fridge) and never asked if we wanted drinks. Additionally, although not expensive, ice is NOT included, and the staff has to buy it all the time, or in our experience we have to ask or go buy it ourselves. Ice is generally an amenity that is included in a hotel or rental. When presented with all of these issues, one man claiming to be the owner offered to refund us one night, which would have been the appropriate thing to do. However, it turns out he was not the owner and just an employee of the company and did not have authority to do so. Instead, the owner provided us 2 bottles of champagne! (lucky us!) We have stayed at properties that include in-house staff before. This was the best housekeeping staff and the worst food staff we have seen. You might wonder about our tips. We still tipped all the staff very generously, to the amount of what I am told is their wage for a month. I recommend this property if you want to make your own drinks and beg for service. Perhaps tip them in the beginning of the week so they know you mean business? The rooms are wonderful. The pool is lovely (minus that the floor becomes an ice rink when wet), the grass and beach are lovely also. However, please be advised there are only 8 lounge chairs which is not enough. It is also lovely to not have to cook, do dishes, go grocery shopping or do laundry for a week. Just don't have huge expectations for proactive service.....

An amazing villa in Las Terrenas perfect for a wedding or any celebration up to 28 people. We had our dream wedding at this property and it couldn't have been better! Highly recommend

This place is incredible, but the staff truly are what make this place stand out. The food, cleanliness, service, attention to detail, and friendliness are second to none. Martine was quick to respond to every message I ever sent as well. The staff cooks the best Domincan chicken and rice/beans! Omar is amazing. Yenni and the rest of the cleaning staff did an amazing job too.

I'm the kind of guest who searches out THE BEST...and this Villa fulfilled all our dreams! My boyfriend turned 40 so we brought 14 adults and 2 littles (1 and 3-year-olds) to celebrate. Martine answered EVERY question with a quick response and friendly manner. We spent days fishing, lounging, and just embracing the beauty of the place. Omar, Thomas, and Jose spent time planning our menus for each day. Jose was invaluable, speaking English and translating our needs every day. We even took him on the Catamaran with us for the day. THAT is a must! Seeing the DR from a boat and lounging on private beaches was AHHHHHHMAZING! Miguel helped us get around when needed. Bruni, Mare, and Yenni cleaned the place and did our laundry so we felt spoiled BUT never overwhelmed us with their presence. They were incredibly polite. Overall, we loved every minute and would go back in a heartbeat Do NOTE that it is an open air home so bug spray may be necessary. I was untouched when it came to mosquitos, but some of the others struggled with them. We also had a nice gentleman take care of our pool EVERY morning! I didn't catch his name though. The ride from the airport (SDQ) was just over two hours. We contracted a bus and it was very reasonable ($40pp each way). The electricity for the week was just under $400 and we were very thoughtful. Every evening we turned off the lights and only ran the AC when we were sleeping in the rooms. Jose organized the Catamaran and horseback riding for us! FUN! FUN!! FUN!! Can we come back now? HA! I don’t even know where to begin. I planned my 40th birthday to come here with my best of friends. Martine was so helpful and very attentive with all my questions about planning and I had a lot lol. The pictures don’t even give this place any justice. It was incredible!!!!! So beautiful. The staff was the best!!!! We love them so much and miss them already. They became our friends and we will never forget them. The food and drinks we had was the best ever!!!!!! Jose, Omar, Thomas and Miguel, did themselves. I recommend pizza and Jose’s pina colodas and the roasted pig. So good!!!!! The boat was incredible as well. Yenni and Bruni took such great care of our rooms made sure the villa was spotless and even fresh laundry. They were so great and so sweet. Everything was beyond what we dreamed of. We will be back and we’re all so sad it came to an end so quickly. If you’re questioning anything about this place don’t!!!! I have traveled a lot and this was by far my favorite vacation. Best vacation ever!!!!!!!!!! I will never forget this time in my life ever!!!! We miss the staff so much. I

Where to even start?! We were there for my husband's 40th with 20 of his closest friends. It was the vacation of a lifetime, truly. 1. THE HOUSE - the photos don’t even do it justice. It’s so spacious, with so many different areas to relax. Everyone was able to spread out, whether on the beach cabanas (with the most luxurious pillows), the enticing hammock, the ridiculous pool, the multiple seating areas, it goes on and on, but amazingly with everything in line of sight - created the perfect balance of togetherness and separation that made for the perfect trip. The bedrooms are all awesome and so nice that they each had their own bathroom. The beach is literally just steps from the house. And unlike many rental houses I've been to, it's a ridiculously amazing smooth walk in beach! 2. THE OUTINGS & ACTIVITIES - we did the amazing catamaran day where it comes right to our beach! We had 2 masseuses come. We surfed at “Carolina’s Surfing School”. Loved it. Was on a beautiful beach 5 min away with the cutest bar. 4. THE FOOD & DRINKS - Oh man. This was such an awesome aspect of the trip. The bar was restocked daily and whatever fun drinks we wanted, Jose would amazingly appear with them! We did the pizza night and pig roast - highly recommended! And everything such well priced. 5. THE STAFF - the best part. They were amazing. Thomas and Jose went above and beyond at every turn and became great friends! Martine was phenomenal answering any questions I had about the house, in whatever level of minutia, quickly and wonderfully. The maids made it feel like a hotel with a crisp clean bathroom and bedroom and laundry each day. The driver took us wherever we needed. Everybody was just phenomenal - I can't say enough. Jose one time brought a wiffle ball set because he thought we would like that and we had an epic game of wiffleball in the yard surrounded by the pool, palm trees and lapping ocean waves. They truly made the trip what it was. I think my husband would write a novel for this section if he were doing the review. 6. OVERALL - Legit, every person just was in awe. The one thing I made my husband promise was that this wouldn't be our last time. It would be a phenomenal trip for families as much as it was for our adult group. One person said she had never decompressed so quickly on a trip. Another kept saying "is this real?". It is. And it's awesome. I'd give it 100* out of 5 if I could.

Chose Villa Del Mar for our wedding and we couldn’t have made a better decision. Martine was an amazing host who was recommending us things to do as well as the staff in the villa treated us so well and made sure we had a great time. It was a magical experience to say the least.

Our stay at Villa del Mar was fantastic. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures. The staff were all so attentive. We didn't have to do anything but relax with cocktails from Jose and wonderful food cooked by Omar. Miguel, our driver, took us to a beautiful waterfall and took special care of us when we made the hike. Martine was always very responsive to all of our requests and Yenny and Bruni didn't let a day go without giving us clean clothes and towels. Overall, it was one of best vacations we have ever had.

Ok. So this might be long but worth it. I planned this trip in 2019 for 17 people but due to the pandemic we weren't allowed to leave our country in 2020. Martine kindly let us reschedule for the same time the following year. So let's start with the property. The pictures don't do it justice. It's picturesque. Not only very well maintained but upon our arrival we walked into Omar and Jose in the kitchen finishing a prepared meal. The staff welcomed us with drinks and food. Every day the spread was amazing, everyday they cleaned our room AND out clothes. They not only washed them but folded them as well. They work with a tour company that we rented a catamaran for the day. We had a driver who took us to town to the market and to get covid test to return to the US. This property is a resort unto itself. There was very little reason to leave and so much space that you can be alone in a house filled with people. I can't say more positive things about Martine as she made Every accommodation. She was so easy to communicate with. She made the stay so pleasant. I love every moment and want to say thank you to Omar Jose and the cleaning ladies.
