In bester Lage an diesem beliebten See gelegen, bietet "Crawfords" alles für den einen oder anderen Familienurlaub! Boatshed Bay liegt direkt über der Straße und bietet 2 Startrampen sowie ausreichend Parkplätze für Fahrzeuge mit Bootsanhängern. Die Rangiuru-Bucht mit dem besten Badestrand ist nur einen Katzensprung entfernt. Diese Bucht ist ein großartiger Ort für Familien und zum Schwimmen. Es gibt Stege zum Abtauchen und einen flachen Strand, der ideal für kleine Kinder ist. Es gibt einen Tennisplatz, der mit geeignetem Schuhwerk benutzt werden kann, solange niemand ein Spiel gebucht hat oder gerade spielt. Es gibt "The Landing Cafe" an der Tarawera Landing auf der rechten Seite und den Hügel hinunter am Anfang der Spencer Road. Es gibt ein Wassertaxi, mit dem die Leute für einen Ausflug oder einen Tagesausflug zum Hot Water Beach fahren können. Dort werden die Leute vom Landing oder vom Bootsanleger über die Straße und vor Crawfords abgeholt. Das Wassertaxi zu diesen fantastischen Tarawera-Wanderungen fährt ab und kehrt zur Boatshed Bay zurück. Es umfasst den Hot Water Beach, die Humphries Bay, das Outlet oder den Lake Okataina sowie eine Rückfahrt vom Hot Water Beach für diejenigen, die den Tarawera Trail gegangen sind.

Very damp property, took awhile to heat up. Good location

Great location, huge house (but could benefit from another toilet) Fitted our 9 family members easily and had everything as per listing.
Aside from another bathroom, a fenced area for pets and little children would be handy as it is next to a very busy road with no gate. Overall, a place we would rent again

Another great stay at Tarawera with lots of boats and fun! Properly is dated but always tidy and clean. Couldn’t get a better location for accessing boat shed bay boat ramps. Only complaint would be the need for a second toilet (especially with large groups) and more air conditioning as bedrooms get very hot!

The Crawfords Lakehouse is perfectly situated right opposite the boat ramp and a short walk to a beautiful swimming spot. We loved our daily swims and relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake!

This place has plenty of space and everything you need.
Big pluses include a great view out over the Boatshed Bay area, plenty of flat parking and a nice wide entrance to the front door.
Given the aged interior, it is all clean & modernised where necessary especially mixer taps in shower & kitchen. Worth a stay.

We recently stayed "Crawfords on Tarawera". What a location! Right across the road from a boat ramp which sits beside a small point with a lovely 10-15 minute bush walk. A great location to launch our paddle boards too. The house is substantial, a little tired but adequate for our family of 5 adults + 1 small dog. Would highly recommend a holiday here - great deck and amazing view.

Room configuration a bit tricky with more than one couple in the group.
Hot water was not turned on when we arrived. Poor cell signal prevented us getting it sorted until the second evening.
Strongly suggest this is either checked before a group arrives or instructions are made available - perhaps next to the water usage notes.

Stunning Location!
'Crawfords' is an awesome holiday home for a large group. The property is situated right across from the deepwater boat ramp as well as several bush walks one of which leads to the best swimming beach. Lovely gardens, modern appliances, very highly recommended.

Spacious and quirky
3 couples stayed here to attend a wedding. The advertised photos well represented the quirky character of the property but it was clean, well appointed and very spacious. Great views and parking for our boat. A second toilet/ bathroom would have been handy but it was great overall.

Great place to take boat and drop straight into water. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfortable. Don't forget loo roll though as a wee drive back to get some from town.

Lovely house but property manager was rude
We loved the house, great location. A few things were missing such as no hand soap in the bathroom, lights/ lamps that had no bulbs in them plus a large new oven sitting on the living room floor. The property manager was also rude via email and communication was terrible.

Well laid out for kids and parents - plenty of space. Good parking and access. Huge video selection for the kids, but video player wouldn't work, so might be the typical heads needing a clean?? It had everything we needed for a neat holiday. Thanks

Stayed over the Xmas 2020 long weekend. What a great place for families. Well equipped with everything we needed. We will be back. Thankyou Norman ( property manager) who sorted out the gas cylinders for us on boxing day. Great communication and service.

Closest Bach to boat ramp
Very large and roomy bach - designed for at least two families but could be more.
Extremely well equipped with everything you need.
Unfortunately the dishwasher and washing machine were broken during our stay and there were no instructions for the complicated tv (there were at least 4 remotes!) so we couldn’t enjoy that but the fire was great and plenty of firewood.
It’s about a 20-25 minute scenic drive to town but Worth it to be away from the boards. Horse riding at the Lake Okareka was a highlight.
