For a 4 star hotel if doesn’t have pool at least tv with Netflix

Location is excellent. Breakfast was satisfactory. Free hotel car park at the hotel which was very handy.

We stayed in a suite at the front of the hotel which was a bit noisy with passing traffic and people. So if you were looking for a quite night I wouldn't recommend it. We found it very difficult to close the old sash windows at the back of the suite which overlooked what we assumed was the outside area of the nightclub but we eventually got them closed. Thankfully there wasn't any nightclub on the night we stayed. I don't think we would have slept at all if the nightclub was open. Decor and room looked fine on first impression but then you realise it's all dated and would do with an update. It's an old hotel so I appreciate how hard it must be to keep standards up. There wasn't any vents in the bathroom so it gets steamed up and foggy easily. The light in the bathroom wasn't great for women applying makeup. I found a large moth on the window drape after opening up the drapes in the morning!! Proof of old decor!

Very comfortable room, fantastic bed and bathroom! Lovely evening meal however could do with more extensive vegetarian options. Excellent breakfast! Fantastic decoration throughout the hotel, I will definitely return! Great location for town

Great hotel with great bar, great rooms and great breakfast. The jacuzzi bathtub was a welcome bonus. We would stay again. The hotel premises are just gorgeous including the outside terrace.

None really but if I were to be picky I would say one of the suites we had didn't have aircon and we were there on a particularly hot day. There was a ventilator in the room though.

Car park so far away from reception & had to ask a member of staff to help with suitcase at reception & up the room as well but receptionist was not happy ☹️ & said we not usually provide this service as they don't have enough staff due the wedding on ..They don't care about others Guests but they want my hard earned money .Rooms decor very dark old fashioned needs upgrading. Curtains shabby & dirty .took lots of pictures.Bathrooom needs upgrading a complete makeover . Receptionist rude .not friendly no smile or customer care .I won't be back .Room 8 all the staff can see you as they walk along a steel platform & also stand smoking every few minutes.I would see all the staff .,& could see me too .I wave at the chef when he look across at me .The view was stunning lots of cables dirty windows etc. No lift No offer of help with suitcases please don't ask reception because they to busy with wedding guest .if you're lone traveler couple's.or small group of people this is not the hotel for you

Very loud noises. I slipped in the corridor and almost fell on a wet floor that had no wet floor sign located anywhere, an absolute hazard for any elderly. The front door of the hotel was locked and we couldn’t exit in the evening time if we wanted too, and there was no one available on the front desk for support. Some staff, especially bar staff were rude. The hotel is dated. There is very little parking onsite, so be prepared to have to pay for parking elsewhere and carry all your belongings through Kilkenny City in order to get to the hotel. We had to park somewhere else that cost us 25 euro. There is no after hours menu or food available for in house guests so make sure you bring some food with you should you be a night time eater. It’s clear that the hotel aspect of Langton gets neglected and is only a bolt on service to it’s bar and restaurant. Do not let the positive reviews of the restaurant determine your choice or decision for this place as a place to stay. Do your research before hand.

We started in the Garden area, which was difficult because of all the doorways and stairs we had to navigate with the wheelchair. Once we were moved to the hotel building, it was much easier. The staff was very understanding and accommodating, even moving the trundle bed for us. The breakfast was the best one on offer during the 3 weeks we visited Ireland. Your location was great - close to the train/bus station, and all the attractions were within an easy walk.

The Garden beds were incredibly hard. Even the young folks in our group slept poorly. However, the staff were happy to move us to the hotel part, and we all slept much better after that. I appreciate that they listened and found an agreeable solution for us.

So decieveing from the outside , we couldn't believe it inside , every turn was something else!! Beautiful rooms , was here for a wedding and the staff could have not been more helpful .

Would love a pool somewhere in hotel

Excellent location. Staff professional and friendly. I was given the Penthouse as a room when I arrived - but I wouldn't recommend this room for one person - ridiculously big and really not beautiful. I asked for another room and the receptionist worked hard to find me another room and my second room was OK

The room number 10 was bare, decor terrible, very noisy. we were subjected to a constant buzzing throughout the night making sleep very difficult. the smoke alarm triggered for the second time at midnight, There are 44 steps to the room making it awkward with luggage.

Plenty of plug sockets for my stupid amount of chargers. Plenty of facilities on the face of it. Bed was comfortable, room was a nice temperature and although it was a very short stay, it was grand for what I needed. Great location! The fire alarm went off during the night, which annoying as it may seem, you definitely feel more secure about how safe you are.

I was disappointed that the iron leaked water, it came of the sides and where the power cord is to the iron attached, dangerous! After the fire alarm, perhaps I’m wrong but I would’ve liked a checkup. I know I would’ve appreciated it, I stayed up for 30-40 minutes just in case. I could’ve just went down to reception myself so I’m not in the right either.

very friendly staff. lovely big room. very comfortable bed. excellent breakfast service with lots of choice and delivered to your table which was lovely. really nice bar with music and nice atmosphere. got parking too which was great

The window didn't seal and we could hear the traffic on the road clearly. Water in taps and shower not overly hot.

I loved my stay there's always such a great atmosphere here. Even when I've come to kilkenny and not booked a room here. It's still the only bar I'll go to. Rooms were big and loved the decor.

The only thing was there was no parking available, but we got some nearby. So it wasn't a problem at all.

The pictures displayed on this app when you look at the suite rooms very clearly shows a bath in the room. When I arrived I found there was no bath. I asked the receptionist if I could possibly get a room with a bath but there were none available - the staff were super friendly and genuinely did try to help. I was told some of the suites don’t have baths and it’s hit or miss if you get one. This is understandable but of course I think it should not be shown in the pictures that there is a bath if it is not guaranteed. The only reason I booked a suit was to guarantee a bath. This may sound like an over reaction but as someone with a heart condition I have a tendency to faint very easily when warm. So I can only wash in a bath with someone helping me, otherwise I may slip in the shower and cause severe injuries. It was upsetting not being able to clean myself while staying in such a luxury room.
