The location, view, breakfast, was all very good. loved the room decor and the fact that it was non-carpeted.

met our expectation and nothing in particular that we did not like.

The grounds were beautiful.

The rooms on level - 2 had a bad smell. The rooms need to be renovated and the carpet in the lobby replaced. Very old.

we were unable to order an iron, as the hotel claimed that irons were prohibites in the room in order to preserve the furniture. Not a dealbreaker whatsoever.

views overlooking the bay

The staff did not seem to care about their paying guests. We stayed for two nights and the first night was awful due to a party being held at the hotel. When we checked in we were warned about the ‘pleasant musical experience’ that evening. It was anything but pleasant and we had to go down to reception to complain but all that happened was a ‘sorry’ and I’ll take your room number. It went on far too late and we had the door shut and the shutter closed. There would be no way we could have spent an evening on the balcony. When we checked out, we had to mention it and there was a soft sorry and that the music would have only been going on until midnight. The guy at reception had clearly missed our point and was totally unsympathetic. We paid a lot of money, and in our eyes and the hotel was definitely not five star. Having just spent two nights before our stay, in Amalfi which was four star, this hotel did not meet our expectations. No offer of any compensation was disappointing.

I love the location and the fact that is an original Gio Ponti project , the great architect and designer who contributed to change the history of design in Italy . Everything in this structure is designed by him and some pieces look still original . The upgrade done to preserve the identity of the structure is very well done as well .

Tub and shower are not separated and the tub is somehow uncomfortable

very noisy as had sea view room below restaurants which had chairs etc being moved by cleaners at 2am every night. All floors tiled hence noise. the lift and walkways to lower area by sea pretty grubby

Poor room (deluxe suite) it would have been nice to have proper tea and coffee facilities with milk in the room. It would also have been good to have an iron.

Great location and view. However, the room often slightly smelled of sewage when I first entered. It was the same when I stayed there 10 years ago. The same case at other hotels in Italy. I presume it is the system and can't be helped.

Best service I’ve had in any hotel in the world. Magical setting. Great food. Divine.
