Old English rotten hotel. Not very clean. The toilet flush did not work and although we informed the reception twice, no action was initiated

- Zimmer sehr runtergekommen - Toilette spült sehr schwach - Keine Toilettenbürste - Tür zur Toilette ging nicht richtig zu - Fenster war leicht offen und festgeklemmt wodurch es durchgehend kalte Zugluft gab! Selbst im Frühstücksbereich war das Fenster undicht. - Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Man hört alles was in den Zimmern nebenan passiert. - Dreck im Waschbecken und lange Haare hingen an den Bilderrahmen - Der Bacon beim Frühstück ist sehr seltsam

persuaded to upgrade to business class room - which was 'spacious' on arrival the room was very small and not at all spacious. requested refund of the upgrade price but this was going to be 'investigated'

Better bathroom facilities and better window insulation, a draught could be felt on our heads all night as the bed heads are under the windows. Also had to keep finger on kettle button in order for it to boil as it kept clicking off whilst warming. We were in room no 536. The showering facility in this room was virtually impossible for my husband who is 6ft5 as the large “bulk head” meant he could not stand upright.It was difficult myself at 5ft7 and I knocked my head twice.The bar was rarely open.

The location to say something. The rest bad.

Dante, the receptionist was super rude when we did the check in. The room heating was noisy. Room mugs dirty the first day. The beds had wheels and were moving. The overall stay bad.

Absolutely nothing. For start we got out of the lift and couldn’t find our room on the corridor walked back to get in the lift and there was a door more or less connected to the lift the size of a door off a closet it was like something out of a scary film.

The room was like a frezzer the 2 rads were frozen 5 mins in the room a staff member knocks with a plug in rad so they no the heating does not work and charge €280 for a night stay, we could hear the lift going up and down as we were connected to it. My daughter was afraid in the room and 3 of us had to share a bed cause it was so cold and noisy. The smell of dust/ damp the minute you opened the door. The windows have net dirty blinds with wooden shutters on them.

Good friendly staff. Easy and quick check in. Good location as we came for the winter wonderland in hyde park.

Very dated. Small bar Facilities need work - eg toilet wouldn't flush properly shower seemed faulty. This wasn't just an issue in our room, as people we know stayed at the same time as us and had the same issues. A shame really as when we stayed here in 2013 it seemed much nicer. I am aware that the hotel is having some refurbishments from December so fingers crossed it will be back to how it was.

The room was very different from the pictures. Very small and in need to renovation.

the rooms are very tiny and you can't move in it. it barely fits the bed. the double bed is very small andnot comfortable. the toilet is also tiny. the car parkings are not available. In general, it was very discomfortable.

The location by the park and tube was really convenient

The location is really good, close to Lancaster Gate. This is the central metro line with an ideal and easy connection with other lines that provide access to all the main attractions of the city, as well as to Heathrow or Stansted Airport via Liverpool Street station. If you want to take a walk, there is a beautiful green area near the hotel (Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park). After a pleasant walk to the south, you will reach Buckingham Palace in 30 minutes. Another nice feature is a lovely English pub next to the hotel called The Swan. We are also happy with the breakfast. This is it!. Everything else in this hotel is just a big disappointment.

Photos of the hotel on booking.com at first glance, look nice and you may think this is a pretty nice place worth of money, which is not cheap at all, but you will be very disappointed later. The hotel room was so small that there was practically nowhere to fit a suitcase, and we had one for two, quite a standard size. The double bed, as they call it, was in fact a slightly wider version of the single bed. The room was so narrow that the bed was standing next to the wall, so there was only one narrow path leading to it. Imagine how unhygienic it is to lie next to a wall that hundreds of people touch every year. A wall that has probably never been cleaned. The room in general was very dirty, especially on the carpet. Everything was stained. The lid of the ironing table has probably never been washed - it was cream, but not initially. There were huge rust stains on it. A thick layer of dust was accumulated in different corners, especially behind the mirror, behind the TV, window frame, etc. The toilet was a big joke. So tiny, but forget about it. The water in the sink just stood there and was washed off only after a couple of minutes. The same situation with the toilet. All the taps and handles were rusty. And also, water is never brought in the room. The manager told us that the tap water is drinkable :) Like that. On the very first day we turned to the manager and told everything, but nothing has changed. No reaction. The hotel manager had a conman written on his face. In short, this is not a four-star hotel at all. I would barely give them three. I wanted to write all this to warn other future guests. It's a pity that the booking.com does nothing to prevent such situations. Such hotels should be blocked in order to save the reputation of the company. When I'm visiting London next time, I'm not going back to the same place.

Great location, close to multiple underground and Paddington Station.

The shower drains were insufficient causing the bathroom to flood. I had to move rooms twice due to this issue. I ended up just dealing with it as the room I was moved to also has the same issue. Room still had hair in the shower. Wifi wasn't great either I also felt very unsafe at times, I had a strange man tapping at my door, multiple times. Reported this to reception, told me if may have been housekeeping (my room had already been made for the day). I will not be staying her again.
