Our group stayed here for a bachelor party in the keys. It was the perfect spot for home base in the middle keys, everything was super clean when we arrived, AC was cold, plenty of fridge and freezer space and nice comfortable beds. Jennifer was very responsive and easy to work with, she accommodated every request I had and got back to me within minutes if I had a question. I would highly recommend this property to any group interested in a stay in the keys.

The house is just as pictured. Super clean! We had plenty of room and loved having a space to dock the boat we rented. There’s ample space for parking 4 vehicles plus a trailer. My girls loved the pool toys that came with the house.
The pool was the perfect size! Upon our arrival the pool was 95 degrees. It felt like a hot tub! We contacted the property manager and she sent over someone to chill the pool for us. He was there within an hour or so. He was very nice and helpful and showed us how to control the pool chiller if we wanted to make it a little cooler on our stay. He also aired up the bike tires while there. I will say, it cost us an extra $145 to have the pool chilled while we were there! I feel like that is something that should be done automatically before check in, being in south Florida. I found it a very steep price that we had to pay extra based on what we already paid for the house. We had no choice but to pay because there was no way we could have enjoyed the pool with the temperature it was upon arrival.
I also want to warn any future guest about the biting gnats! They were awful in the mornings and evenings. They ate my girls up! There may be nothing that can done to control this, but future guests should bring bug spray! It might be a good idea for the property manager to set out some Off candles or tiki torches that repel bugs in the future. However, that would not hinder my decision to book this property again! It is a great property!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Sombrero Heaven! The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We decided to bring our boat since the house had a private dock to use and the pool was a perfect way to end each day. Excellent communication with the property manager, Meredith! We absolutely would stay here again!!

This place is AWESOME!!
The property manager was fantastic. The pool was great after a day of fishing, lobstering & snorkeling. We had plenty of room for the 8 of us + our 2 year old. The dock held our 32’ yellowfin perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
The only negatives:
The grass was really high but they came to cut it on our last day there.
Missing a smoke detector inside.
The pool exit gate to the dock was faulty & was a concern for our little one.
The mangrove at the dock needs trimming- especially if someone is staying next door with a boat. Make it a tight fit. The dock is in great shape tho.
The location was great to go to Sombrero Beach, lighthouse and was really close to Publix & Winn Dixie. That was very convenient.
The enrance / exit in the canals takes 15- 20 minutes. We didn’t mind as it gave us time to rig up while on our way out.
The place was very secure and we didn’t have any concerns for our property.
PLENTY of parking for 4 vehicles + our boat trailer.

Beautiful property and excellent location
It was perfect for our family, swimming pool, fishing on the pier and close to shopping. The twins really enjoyed fishing off the pier and they caught a shark, a blue crab big enough to eat and too many small fish to count. The property was clean with plenty of room for our family of eight. Meridth was available for any issues that we had. We definitely would stay here again.

Paradise in Marathon
A phenomenal place to stay and we had 9 people in the house. A lot of room and immaculately finished (the pictures don’t even show the new couch on the porch)! The outdoor area was a perfect place to spend the afternoon and relax or swim.

Overall we had a great time.
The house is clean and in a really great location. Close to shopping and to the beach. The owners might want to put a little money into updating things. The “queen” beds they have listed are terribly small. Slightly larger than a full and slightly smaller than a queen (I’m in interior design, and I measured). It wasn’t a huge deal because there were only two couples and then a bunch of kids, so the kids slept fine on them. I ended up sleeping on the couch. Once the kids were up I’d head upstairs to try and get a little nap on a real bed, but the one I slept on the springs were pretty much shot. You could tell they were old beds.
Blackout curtains would be nice, as the rooms get super bright once that sun is up. The blinds that they have do very little to block the sun out. We noticed the property next door had two large paddle boards, and two kayaks, new bikes and just overall seemed to be better appointed. This property is kinda bare bones. Bikes are older, they did have a couple beach chairs, I bought a beach umbrella and added it to what looks like a hodge lodge of things people have purchased and left behind.
I may be particular, but it’s these little updates that make things more relaxing and enjoyable. They should pour some money into updating their mattresses (king beds in all the rooms would be ideal), linens, and some curtains (in addition to the blinds, which are pretty useless and most of which are broken). If you are able, I’d look at the place directly next door. It seems like they’ve really thought of everything. They have a nice covered tiki hut by the pool, with really nice pool chairs and loungers, the paddle boards, and kayaks.... didn’t see the inside, but I’m sure it’s similar. Overall, our place was “meh” to “okay” but if I were you, I’d keep looking until updates are made.

Family vacation
This was a wonderful property for our family vacation. The location was great- close to the beach, on canal for boat access, close to restaurants & grocery store, close enough to Key West for an easy day trip. The private pool was perfect for our small group & was our daughter’s favorite part of the trip. Everything was very clean & the property manager was easy to contact when we had any questions.

A wonderful rental that is filled with amenities
We stayed in MARCH 2021. Nice clean home, with a nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of other touches like bikes, beach chairs and two nice patios. Dock is in great condition with two water hoses for cleaning boat and fishing rods. Great filet table on the dock plus power to connect to onboard battery charger. Hope to visit again next year.

Enjoyed the outside amenities of Marathon. Definitely great to be close to Sombrero Beach and 7 mile bridge area. The street is busy so there is noise. It does have a great walking/biking path from Route 1 to Sombrero Beach. Some appliances and outside items are showing their age. Kitchen is not equipped for significant cooking.

This property was better than the pictures. Clean, comfortable, plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The best part was the nice cold, salt water pool. It was wonderful to come back from a hot day fishing and snorkeling on the boat and jump in the pool. Great location close to beach and groceries.

Beautiful sunsets and snorkeling!!
The house was exactly as pictured and situated in a wonderful spot close to Sombrero beach and everything we needed! The dock made having our boat with us easy! We enjoyed several days of diving and snorkeling at Sombrero Reef not far off Sombrero Beach. We saw a myriad of beautiful tropical fish and corals as well as Nurse sharks, giant grouper and ancient sea turtles. Our stay was full of wonderful experiences and we now have lasting memories! Would definitely rent this home again.

Perfect vacation. Clean and great to have pool and Dock for boating and snorkeling! Just a bit far in canals but well worth it! Duplex well equipped but could use beach towels, we had to purchase some for our stay !

Fabulous Marathon Vacation Spot
Fabulous! Our party of eight (4 couples) had an amazing week at Sombrero Heaven! The house is perfectly appointed with everything you need for a memorable week! We really enjoyed the brand new grill! Property Manager Meredith was so kind and accommodating and went over and above to make our visit perfect! Location couldn’t have been better....walking/ biking distance to gorgeous Sombrero Beach, Publix, San Pablo Catholic Church and restaurants.....short drive to Big Pine Key (visited relative’s home) and Key West to enjoy golf, food, drinks and the gorgeous Key West Pier sunset! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for everything!

It was truly Sombrero Heaven
This house is amazing. 8 adults and 2 kids and there was never a minute that you felt cramped. Pool was great with the patio/grill area and the dock was perfect for our rental boat. The bedrooms are perfect and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Great family amenities
We absolutely loved staying at Sombrero Heaven. Between two families totalling 4 adults and four kids, 4 yrs old and under, we had plenty of space and all the amenities we needed from toys to a pack-n-play. We got most of our groceries in Florida city as prices were a bit better than those in Marathon but we were glad to have the local stores for ice cream and other ingredients we needed once we got there. We cooked almost all of our meals at home with plenty of kitchen space and a large dining table we could all enjoy sitting together. It was so nice to be equipped with a crockpot, blender, coffee maker, toaster and bbq. The pool was a bit warm the first couple days but we were thrilled when the pool guy came and was able to turn on a cooling system. We rented a couple kayaks locally and were able to launch from the boat dock fairly easily and enjoyed paddling all the way out to the beach. Overall, beautiful home, relaxing atmosphere, centrally located. We could not have asked for a better stay!

All the comforts of home with a pool!
Great home for a family vacation. We had our 1 and 5 yr old grandchildren with us as well as our own kids! The keys have family things to do but also allows you to enjoy the home you rented with a private pool. Comfortable bedding - full kitchen, nice upstairs deck to overlook the canal and pool. Great selection water/sand toys provided the the kids. We enjoyed Pigeon Key, Robbies, theater of the Sea, Turtle hospital, a day trip to Key West and a day at sombrero beach right down the street. Meridith was wonderful to communicate with! This home was all we expected amd more.

Amazing house, great location.
We had an amazing stay at the house! We fit all 10 of us very comfortable and had everything we needed. We spent most mornings by the pool and the afternoons out and about. Also rented a boat for 2 days and had awesome time exploring everything from the water. The dock worked out great. I would recommend anyone from a large group of friends or family.
