Alex checked me in, extremely helpful friendly and very welcoming ; always a pleasant stay here and staff are consistently great.

Nothing , it exceeds what expect for the price

Comfortable room with everything I needed. Pub had great beer and the food was delicious! If I am down this way again I would 100% try and stay here again!

Only criticism is for business use - breakfast was not available until 8am whereas I would usually leave at 7am. However saying that, the poached eggs were amazing and well worth the late start!!

Diners and drinkers could be segregated and dogs were randomly in the dining area. Again should be segregated. Not all people like animals around when eatinv. 9

Comfortable and a nice atmosphere in the restaurant/ bar. Helpful and friendly staff.

Only very intermittent Wifi in the bedroom - only had wifi for about two minutes and then it went. No phone signal either. Didn’t matter too much but it was frustrating .

Not a lot of choice for breakfast unless you like a lot of bread or a full English. Would have liked the tea and coffee to be replenished. We had to constantly ask for milk when he does say in the literature that it would be left outside the door in the morning?

Breakfast was very nice but even though I asked about Breakfast I was told it was not included in price only to later find out that it was. Room was clean and comfortable. Amazing bed! Staff in the main very nice except when I needed to hand in keys and male member of staff said nothing and looked irritated to be interrupted. I was going to thank him for a nice stay but didn't get opportunity.

Friendly greeting even though it was late. Great room with a comfortable large bed and a lovely ensuite. Breakfast was great, good quality and quantity.

The room was good but not a great deal of attention to detail when replenishing items used. The food was pretty good value. The lady who had been there for six years was excellent customer service wise and so were the twin sisters.

The bar staff and general poor service when busy and even when not that busy. It was as if they had not been trained!

We booked The Dartmoor Halfway Inn as we were attending a function in Newton Abbot. The staff were really helpful and the accomodation was superb. Little touches like fresh milk upon arrival and another fresh little bottle in the morning added to the visit. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay here again, probably in the caravan next time. (already picked what pitch we would try and request!!!!)

It was quite expensive for what was there. A fridge in the room to store milk for teas/coffees would have been nice as it wouldn't have kept well if it were the summer months. The bed was uncomfortable for me as I have back problems, but there's nothing wrong with it otherwise. The bathroom was a bit dusty, but it was probably where the room wasn't being used.

Excellent accommodation, lovely breakfast, and staff.

The rooms are really nicely decorated: really simple yet modern. They’re away from the main pub so really quiet, no noise issues at all (except our neighbour who starting slamming doors at 2am but not the properties issue 😆). It’s in the most beautiful location, 10 mins and you’re in the heart of Dartmoor with the most incredible landscape.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and it is always fantastic. The staff are always accomodating, the food is great and the accomodation standard is excellent.

Staff very friendly and courteous. Food generally good, breakfast excellent. Think perhaps very little salt used in the cooking leading to not very flavourful meals, contentious maybe, can’t please all the people all the time, just my take on it. Minor point, could’ve been given a bit more guidance on how the barrier works for people wanting to park nearer the accommodation, I was in room 2. Overall a pleasant stay, would I stay again…..definitely !

Difficult to navigate from bed to bathroom in the middle of the night. Couldn’t access Wi-Fi initially because didn’t put capital letter D in the password.

lovely room, very comfortable and away from the main pub and restaurant area. so it very quiet. the bed was very comfortable which is important for a good night sleep - there was plenty of tea and coffee, including filtered, and a bottle of milk - great touch and so much nicer coffee and tea in the morning. the restaurants food was fantastic. well cooked and reasonably priced.

I thought everything was perfect.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, out of season break. Good food , great staff. The entrance door was independent of the accommodation so we could come and go at leisure .

It was all good , although the radiator in the room could have been a little warmer as the outside temp was very frosty , although this cannot be accounted for in advance . This has not affected our feedback
