Nice and clean. Friendly staff. The hotel had entertainment, games room and the pool
There was no air con in the room. But they did have a portable fan which wasn’t good when you have 4 in one room.
The pool temperature was cold

The hotel is in a great location, helpful staff, good facilities but the rooms need a bit of makeover and so it’s the lift.
The bathroom really needs some makeover….

Lots of things to do at the property
Was in great need of refurbishment. Didn’t feel like our vehicles were safe at the property.

Amount of facilities.
Jodie, the waitress at breakfast, was always smiling and very helpful.
The Fire and Ice experience at the Spa.
Extreme heat throughout the hotel, even with the bedroom window open at night - looking at previous reviews, this seems to have been mentioned before. Having to pay £10 per day for parking, because we'd booked with Booking.com.
Breakfast wasn't great; had a strange taste of cooking oil and overcooked. The scrambled eggs looked like they had had water added to them, which made them inedible. The Croissants came out over heated and hard. Our room was very small, but as we were only sleeping there, it wasn't too much of a problem, but what was a problem was the cleanliness - the bath mat was mouldy, around the suckers underneath, the bathroom tiles were dirty, as was the floor and shelf behind the toilet and sink. I picked up an empty packet of facial moisturiser, from the floor behind the sink, which must have fallen there from a previous guest. The toilet wasn't screwed to the floor and rocked when you sat on it - this has been reported. The walls in the bedroom had various stains on them, including tea. On our first evening, at the Aztec bar, my husband asked for a bottle of Rose' wine and was told they don't 'do' bottles of wine - I've never been told this in any bar before! Another time, I asked for a tray to carry six drinks back to the table at the Aztec bar and was just told "they're all out"! My sister in-law asked for a Pina Colada at the Aztec bar and was told "we don't often get asked for them, so I don't know how to make it, do you want it in a wine glass or a pint glass!" Another time, I asked for a jug of Pimms and was told 'we've no jugs"!
On two separate occasions, I had to ask for the water bottle at the water station to be replaced as it had run out. The swimming pool near the jacuzzi was full of sand and looked filthy, so we got straight out! Had to sit on the raised sun terrace as all sun beds were 'saved' by 9am.

Facilities were also very good, they had everything there, a shop, a bowling alley, pool and jacuzzi, gym, on site entertainment for all ages

the resort is huge, really clean and the food and drinks were good too. Definitely worth the money!
furniture is a little outdated in the rooms but the rest of the resort really makes up for it, we went through the wrong entrance when we came to check in and the receptionist at derwent was a little rude about it but i can imagine she gets it a lot

On arrival, the receptionist was very rude. When asking what facilities there was she didn't seem like she wanted to be spoken to. No guidance given what so ever. The room was tidy but the bathroom was not. Old soap left and toilet not flushed. Not a great start. However the other staff were friendly. The facilities were amazing which made the stay tolerable. Gorgeous location with plenty to do.
Rude staff. Not clean.

Breakfast was ok .I appreciate it was busy.( supervisor was ok on Thursday morning) But virtually told me it was self service whilst walking away from us. waitresses were very good.

Excellent staff at breakfast. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The pool staff were friendly and helpful and the indoor pools are great for families.
Reception staff not overly friendly. Aztec games is a great facility but some of the arcade machines are dated and didn’t work that well. Very noisy bunch of women staying in the hotel, but staff dealt with them well.

Close to the town, for the shops. Close to the sea beautiful place Torquay but like ALL towns in need of much Tlc.
Hotel is lovely but as 1st time visit in February we were lucky with the weather, hotel grounds need big clean up. As we were able to sit and eat and drink outside.... would be fabulous once clean and tidy..
The beds!!! Aaahhh so painful ...flat and the springs. Desperate to be replaced.
So much new staff which will be great once they're trained but don't like when going down for breakfast, to wait by the entrance to the restaurant for the staff to be staring at you and then I had to ask can we just get a table ? To the reply... ohh uhh no ill go and ask. Why can't all the staff help to seat guests.? This was forming big ques at busy times. And look unprofessional.

the room size was good, restaurant was good and entertainment excellent
too many steps for an older person, the towels in the bathroom room need to be bigger, I.e. bath sheets not small bath towels. I specifically asked for a walk in shower as my partner is 91 and can get into a bath so was unable to use it. Toiletries in bathroom could be better, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

The room was in dire need of refurbishment, it was so outdated & not very clean. The bathroom had black mould around the bath tiles. The food was not good. Breakfast plates in the hot rack were cold & dirty. We've stayed before, but this time was awful, far too crowded. We were booked for 3 nights but stayed 1 night.
