Our family of five, plus a few friends, enjoyed our week in this clean, spacious condo. Great location, excellent climate control and wonderful hosts made this a week to remember. We spent a lot of time at the beautiful beach, and also made trips to Ocean City for the rides, Cape May for the zoo, and Avalon got shopping/ dinner!

We had a wonderful stay at the castle beach house. Ellen and Jim were very kind, responsive hosts. Location is perfect and the home was comfortable for nine of us. We hope to come back again.

Ellen was the perfect host ! She happily greeted us we a warm friendly welcome. We were celebrating a family reunion and found her home the perfect location, well equipped and plenty of room. Also loved the outdoor deck area where you can view the bay and beautiful sunsets. The off street parking was also a real plus. Ellen also provided lots of beach necessities and was there for anything you needed. Five stars for location, condition and great communication. Will be returning !!

Ellen and Jim are 2 of the best hosts we have ever encountered. Ellen took time to greet us and explain various aspects of their home . She also had a list of current activities at the shore . They are very courteous and attentive to guests needs . Their home was comfortable with plenty of room for the adults and kids. The beach was only a few blocks and the bay even closer .We truly had a wonderful time! Thank you !!

-The owners couldn't be nicer! They are very communicative and aim to please.
-The location is great and convenient to all Sea Isle offers. -The kitchen has necessary cooking/serving items.
-Beach chairs, umbrellas and carriers were provided.
-The home was clean upon arrival; however, the decor (including bedspreads) is older. Renters can expect a late 1980's upside-down style shore house (3 bedrooms downstairs and 1 upstairs) with comfortable mattresses. We suggest bringing your own bedspreads or blankets.
-We did not have a problem with ants as mentioned in other reviews, so it looks like that has been addressed.
-The TV streaming was intermittent and buffering, and the owner was looking into fixing/upgrading the WiFi.

Homeowner first sent us community information listing events and things to do in the area prior to the vacation.
Then she greeted us upon arrival and showed us the beach house. The home was clean and nicely appointed. The beds were comfortable. The house location was very nice, just a few blocks from the beach and a block from the bay where we went crabbing with the provided crab traps. The kids were excited as they caught 26 crabs in about 45 minutes. The house had everything the 8 of us needed for the week including beach chairs and a buggy to tote everything to the beach. We walked to sunset pier for dinner, scoops ice cream shop and Blitz's Market are just a few short blocks away. We had a great time and would definitely come back again!

Ellen and Jim were wonderful. Our family greatly appreciated their attentiveness from the moment we arrived until the minute we left. They went out of their way to make sure our vacation was fantastic in every way. We hope to visit again next year!

The house was not as clean as we expect, and they also have a major ant problem, which I have since come to find out the hosts already knew about. Apparently they had an exterminator out a few weeks before our stay, but knowing this, they should have been extra diligent with making sure the problem was resolved and thoroughly cleaning the place before we arrived. There were ants everywhere, and I mean everywhere. When we started to look closer, there were ants in the bathrooms on both floors, dead ants and dust along the baseboards of the downstairs bedrooms, and we even saw some dead ants under the glass of a picture on the wall! We didn't really want to use the kitchen since ants would be on the counter and in cabinets, plus the spices available in the cabinet were old and stale (probably also had ants in them, but didn't check that closely). Overall the house served its purpose, but we could not be super comfortable. Also the Wi-Fi doesn’t work, but that wasn't a big deal for us on this particular trip. Check-in process was in-person & a bit lengthy. If given the option, I'd prefer self-check in. It would be great to at least have hand towels in the bathroom and kitchen, even though we have to provide our own linens and bath towels. But to give a few pros: Ellen is nice and was very communicative. The house is nicely laid out & in a nice location, walkable to beach or bay, playgrounds and some restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again.

I know others have said this, but the pictures just don’t do this house justice! Loved all the windows and sliders keeping it bright with the perfect breeze coming through. Ellen and Jim thought of everything and were the perfect hosts! There wasn’t one amenity we needed or wanted that wasn’t already provided. The kitchen has everything and has lots of space. The deck is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning and a beautiful view of the sunset in the evening. The grass yard was such a bonus! Allowed us plenty of space to play and entertain. We loved this new find and definitely plan to return!

Jim and Ellen were friendly and gracious hosts! Ellen’s communications with me were both professional and thorough. The property was in a lovely and quieter area within walking distance to both bay and beach. The house, although in need of a few updates, was well appointed and a perfect set up for a girls weekend getaway. The living room and kitchen area were both spacious enough for our group. The beds were comfortable. And adequate extra beach equipment was a bonus. We would there stay again.

Ellen was super nice and checked in via text which was appreciated. We only reached out once when we were looking for an additional beach chair and James left us one very quickly.
Space: There is a lot of space for the group. The open floor plan was really nice for sharing meals with our crew of 8. New kitchen countertops, fridge and stove.
Bedrooms: I am fussy about bedding so I brought an extra blanket and pillow and I was glad I did. In addition to the ceiling fans, there are extra fans in the closets which our family likes the white noise from them.
Location: You can see the sunsets from the deck which was lovely. The lifeguards were not set up on our beach block and our group likes to swim. We walked about 4 blocks to get to the guarded beach. Otherwise, the beach is more like 2 blocks for walking or just sitting and enjoying the views.
Overall, this place was a great stay for the price and flexibility if you don't want to stay for a full week.

We met our family at this nice home, bay side, a few minute walk to the beach at the end of July. Our week stay started off with the owner greeting us at check in. The home needs some updates, but at first glance all was fine. Once we started unpacking we noticed the home was not properly cleaned. The floors were filthy, hair, dust and dirt covered everything. We needed to thoroughly clean inside the property which took about an hour and a half. We did not notify the owner of the cleanliness issue as we just wanted to get our family vacation started. Also, the outside shower had no door. Luckily we did notify the owner we needed a door and they placed a curtain instead of a door for us to use. We really liked the owners, so very nice. We just wished the home was cleaner and a bit more taken care of as a few of the kitchen floor tiles were loose, a kitchen chair had a broken arm and made it difficult to use, as well as a few other issues with the first floor bathroom (toilet flushing issues). We won’t be back in the immediate future, but we hope the owners update areas of the home for a future stay.

Great vacation!
This home is beautifully set up for families! Our mom was able to have her own bedroom and bathroom upstairs! We loved the brightness of the living room and kitchen and we made good use of the deck! The owners were truly lovely and cared that we knew of any events going on in the area. We will certainly be back next year!! We all fell in love with Townsends Inlet and this home that was walkable to both the bay and the beach, although we never had a problem parking in the area but maybe because it’s June! A gem!

Our family had such a wonderful beach trip staying at this house! The house is loaded with everything you need for a family vacation with children. They provided a pack n play, highchair, children’s toys & books, in addition to all of the beach supplies we needed including the chairs, cart, wagon, and beach tags! The house is perfectly located on a quiet street on the same block as the bay, so you are able to enjoy beautiful bay views. It’s also a short 5-10 minute walk to the beach! Ellen was so knowledgeable with recommending local restaurants, activities, and even helping us line up a beach wheelchair for my elderly grandmother. We were so grateful for all of their help in making sure our family vacation was a success and memorable! I would highly recommend this house to everyone, especially families with children!

It's beautiful and exactly as described. High ceilings, large bedrooms, and a wrap huge wrap around porch. Ellen was so caring and wonderful! I felt immediately at ease with her. Everything one could possibly need was in the house. Ellen even took the trouble of providing extra diapers for those with children (seriously - such thoughtfulness). The house is located a few blocks from the beach and the bay. The neighborhood was very quiet. I would assume though during the height of the summer season there may be more traffic but the house's location on the inlet leads me to believe it's in a perfect place. My friends and I were looking for a quiet place to spend a few days to relax. We got that and then some. We cannot wait for our next trip with Ellen and Jim! Thank you!
PS - I left some clothes and Ellen overnighted them to me. Once again, the thoughtfulness was unparalleled.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Ellen and Jim's! Everything that we needed was provided and even some bonuses like toys, a wagon, and high chair for our toddler. The owner was super nice. She gave a thorough tour of the house and provided us with a list of things to do. The house was very clean and a short walk from the beach. We've already booked for a return visit in the spring
