Perfect location, breakfast was a usual continental

Pedro gave us the best tips for hikes, meals, groceries and things to do. The hostel is newly renovated and charming, the roof top terrace with views was a great place to relax and eat our supper. I liked the new kitchen for our suppers, and the included breakfast of good coffee, great bread, jams, yogurt, cereal and fruits was a perfect start to our day.

Breakfast was supplied, at the hostel expense. Exceptional Service from Pedro and co. The cleanest, neatest, friendliest establishment out.

Room was perhaps a touch small without storage, but its a backpackers lodge, so no complaint.

Amazing hosts. Pedro and Sarah go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Starting with the welcome drink and suggestions of what to see with maps. Really clean, and lovely calm spaces including a rooftop deck and garden area. Excellent facilities. Quiet location and walking distance to everything in the town. There were things provided for breakfast and tea/coffee. Great kitchen area. I would definitely recommend a visit to Pinhao just to stay in this hostel 👍

The host Pedro and Sara are very helpful and friendly, Pedro gave very good advice on places for meal and surrounding area to visit, also following his advice we took a short train ride along the river to see valley and vineyard, the view is really amazing. It's orange season and there are some orange trees in the garden, the orange is really nice. Kitchen is well equipped, as the host stay there too so everything you need to cook is available, and there's all sort of drink on counter/fridge for everyone, just need to top up honest bar as you wish , whole place is very very clean too, everything is above expectation at this place.

I think this is the best hostel we ever stay, Pedro & Sara are amazing hosts, Pedro gave us a lot details and things to do around the area, which is so useful, this place is exceptional, very very clean, rooftop with amazing view which you can chill and talk to other travellers who stay, nice people and best vibes ever! Pedro and Sarah have cultivated a great homey and welcoming athmosphere, where it really feels like you are staying at a friends house. Pedros recommendations for anything in the region were pretty great and the hostel is the perfect base to explore the beautiful douro valley. They have created something very special with their passion and dedication.

Great location and very friendly staff! The facilities are spotless, brand new furniture etc. Kitchen is fully stocked you can help yourself to anything - honesty box system in place.

legit nothing. it’s simply amazing

We absolutely loved the hostel - a nice vibe, great informative hosts (thank you Pedro & Sara), a great rooftop, five minutes walk from Pinhao station and beautiful scenery. The hostel was VERY clean and the shared bathroom was lovely. Every detail was perfect and there were so many personal touches - Pedro is a seasoned traveler and you can tell by the way he has designed the hostel. The rooms are bright and airy, the kitchen was super well equipped, there is an honesty box where you can pay for drinks and even a book swap. We instantly felt welcome and Pedro gave us so many ideas of what to do in the local area - we ended up doing a great hike with a wine tasting in the middle, as well as getting the train to Pochino too (the views were incredible). We would recommend for anyone travelling to the Pinhao/Douro valley area. It was particularly good for us as we didn't have a car - there are a couple of supermarkets and restaurants nearby too. I would also recommend over doing a day trip to the Douro valley - we took our time and we saw sights that the tours don't visit. And... For anyone who wants to visit at the beginning of the season - February was perfect for us! The town is nice and quiet but there was still lots of sunshine and if was a great temperature for hiking.

Beyond expected. Something that was missing in the region. An experience that all true Backpackers will want to had to their life stories. And will regret not to book more than one night stay.

This is a very professional, welcoming and friendly place. Fantastic shared kitchen with lots of appliances, truly clean and comfortable bathrooms. Lovely roof terrace and garden. We stayed in December and the place was kept warm and cosy. It felt very fresh and clean. Pedro showed us exactly where to enjoy local hikes and food. Very happy to have stayed here, obrigada.

Incredibly friendly host. Everything was just great from location to facilities and the flexible breakfast that was included. The welcome glass of wine was a lovely bonus. The only negative is there wasn't enough time. Can't wait to go back

The gem of the Douro Valley! I simply cannot say enough great things about this spot and our host Pedro & Sarah. Typing this review doesn’t even feel like it will do it justice because I truly cannot express how much My wife and I absolutely loved our time here during our 2 week trip in Portugal. I worked in the high end hotel industry for close to 10yrs and the effort Pedro put into making this a complete experience from start to finish was simply amazing. The place is spotless, very well thought out and you can feel the love for travel coming from every inch of this place. He truly made a little masterpiece in the heart of Pinhao. Not only will you get an warm welcome with a complimentary drink when you arrive, but Pedro will make sure you know the town like the back of your hand before you even head out, and makes beach person a custom map with all of his recommendations for every type of guest / interest. We had wonderful evenings drinking cold beers and wine on his incredible terrace, and coffee in the mornings gazing at the hills and olive trees. And shared a final meal with Pedro & Sarah at the little cafe down the street on the morning we left (so hard to leave!) Having never visited Pinhao before we came in with zero expectations and left with not only the highlight of our trip but with several true friends from Pedro’s wonderful home he has built. I truly hope our paths will cross again and I commend those two for creating such a magical little place that the world could always use more of :) To Pedro & Sarah - thank you for the hospitality & memories, until next time… Felicidades!
