We liked this place very much. We’ve been going to the Topsail-Surf City area for years, and we really liked Sandpiper Landing’s convenient location. Walkable to quite a few places. Want to rent again. The house layout is also very good. We are the grandparents and stayed on upper level, the kids and grandkids on the lower level. The main living area upstairs is arranged in a way that makes good use of the available space. We loved the puzzle table. The deck is wide and chairs are high enough that you can see over the railing. There was one issue that arose and owner responded very quickly. Very good experience..

It was our first time to Surf City, and what a neat beach town it is! This house is in a prime location with private beach and very short walks to many restaurants, shops and other fun things. Highly recommend this house. We had 7 adults and two dogs, and we had plenty of room. Sitting on the covered deck watching the waves come in was so relaxing.

This was our first time in Surf City. Very cute beach area. You can walk to all the shops and grocery store. House was comfortable and plenty of room for us. My only critique is that it seemed some placed where missed with the vacuum when cleaning crew came in. Sand and Cheeto crumbs where found in bunk beds. The vacuum on site was very good and we used it throughout the week for our own selves. No other issues. Very easy to contact owner if we needed anything or had questions.

Plenty of room to spread out in this house. We had 5 adults snd 5 kids with plenty of space on 2 levels. Loved being right on the beach and easy walk to a lot of restaurants . Beautiful uncrowded beach.

What a wonderful week! The house was in the best location, we walked everywhere :) Spent every morning on the covered deck with my coffee- rain or shine. In April it tends to be cool in the morning and I would take a blanket out with me. Best part of the day. Lots of rest and relaxation. Our dog Millie loved our daily walks on the beach. So many wonderful little shops and places to eat made my kids very happy! Can’t wait to go back!!

This was a wonderful property that had plenty of room for my family and any guests. it’s located in an area close to grocery, restaurants, and entertainment. Not too far from the Surf City Ocean Pier. The deck landing provides easy access to the beach where we spent most of our time.

Beautiful house. Beautiful area. I went with my family that ranges in age from 59 to 6. Everyone loved the house. Bonus for the boogie boards, toys and beach chairs in the storage room. Kitchen is well stocked. Bedrooms were roomy and comfy. The jacuzzi tub in the master was wonderful. Highly recommend this house.

This was our family’s first time to surf city/ topsail and I couldn’t have imagined a better place!! The house is perfectly located within walking distance to everything! The views are stunning, the beach is amazing and there were so many thoughtful touches in the house from puzzles to do in the evening to chairs and boogie boards in the storage room to use at the beach. John was always so easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions I had. He even reached out to make sure we didn’t have any problems. This place feels like a hidden gem, I almost hate to give up the secret 😄 but if you are looking for the perfect beach vacation place, this is it!!! Can’t wait to book again!!

We really enjoyed our week at Sandpiper Landing. I think one of the best things about this property is the location. It's within walking distance to the pier as well as other shops and restaurants. There are 2 master bedrooms, with one located on the main floor with the kitchen and living areas. We had a 3 month old, so this helped with keeping the baby separate from the other bedrooms. The owner was very helpful and responsive to our questions.

We had a wonderful week at the beach. Swimming, seafood, bicycling, and relaxing on the shaded deck were among the fun activities that we enjoyed. We have been frequent visitors to Topsail over the years, but have never before stayed in Surf City. I was worried about crowds and noise, but neither was a problem. There was always plenty of space and expansive views on the beach and, even if there had been noise on the city side, we never heard a thing! (And maybe there wasn't any. We were totally insulated from it in any case.) We also found that it was quite a luxury to walk to ice cream, shops, and restaurants! A perfect vacation combination!

This house has everything needed for a relaxing beach vacation! Steps from the sand with the sound of the waves. The house is in walking distance to many restaurants and shops making for the ideal location. This house will not disappoint if you are a beach lover. Perfect for dogs too with a totally enclosed deck.

The house was very clean. Nicely furnished. Kitchen is very well stocked. Beach is beautiful. Lots of beach chairs, toys and boogie boards. Within walking distance to stores and restaurants. Definitely a great pet friendly place to stay.

Three couples rented this property and had a fabulous week. We used 3 of the 4 bedrooms so each couple had their own bathroom. The porch is covered...nice if you want to be outside and not get burned. Close to shops and pier and grocery! Owner is easily reachable and even called the first evening to make sure everything was all right. PS...7 days of outstanding weather! No guarantees of that but we were blessed.

I picked this house because it was directly on the beach and walkable to restaurants. It did not disappoint.
House was as advertised and clean. Had all the necessary amenities. We really appreciated the washer/dryer.
The stairs put you right out on the beach. Super easy access and nice to be close to house for frequent water and bathroom breaks with the littles.
I’m sure the area would be INSANE during peak season but for us in the off season it was delightful. We often had large chunks of the beach to ourselves.
For dinners, we would call restaurants from house and by the time we walked there, food was ready to pickup and bring back to house.
Check in was easy with door code given in advance.
Would definitely return to this property again!

We were so thrilled with our stay at this house. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, and even spices--a nice surprise for us. The pantry also had spare trash bags and materials that came in super handy. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location is fantastic. The walk to the beach from the house is super easy, as well. The thing that sets this house apart from others we've stayed in was the entertainment options in the each room. Each bedroom had streaming-enabled TVs, often very large ones. The accounts were easy to access and made for a very comfortable stay.

Sandpiper Landing is a great house for a big, casual, active group. Four of us and our dog stayed there the week before Christmas and enjoyed the very short walk to the coffee shops, restaurants, and pier. The house does have a lot of stairs, but we didn't mind.
The first thing I check is always the beds, and these are all quite firm and comfortable, with plenty of pillows and blankets available. The location is quiet, even though it's close to the middle of everything, and the house feels solid. The kitchen appliances are new and excellent, and the kitchen equipment is generally adequate. Good bathrooms and plenty of storage space. It's an easy house to stay in. The dog liked it too.

The house is great! Everything was clean and worked without issue. All bedrooms even have an ocean view. We could walk to restaurants and stores. The location and the owner ensured that this was a relaxing and memorable beach vacation.

The profile description was 100% accurate. We were impressed with the bedrooms and bathrooms. Living areas were spacious and clean. Nice kitchen. The kids loved the bunk room, and especially having their own TV for later evening movie watching. The internet/wifi connection was strong and very fast which is really nice with the number of devices (There are internet-based tvs in every room, plus the climate control system, our 5 phones and 2 ipads.)
The decks are nice, especially off of each bedroom for a morning read, or easy access directly to your room straight from the beach. The deck views are great. The pier is easily in view, and is lit up at night. The deck itself has some aged wood, though not problematic at all. This is to be expected in this climate. Deck wood tends to wear more quickly with the salty sea breezes. And the beach is just at the end of your walkway. Overall, the house was great, and as expected. (The only thing that would just be above and beyond would be the addition of an elevator for some less mobile folks.)
Now the better part. The location is truly special. About 2 blocks to the pier and center of town. Maybe 1 block to an ice cream shop and donuts. Small grocery store within about 2 blocks. Probably 7-8 restaurants within a few blocks walk. An escape room place just around the corner. Catholic Church about 3-4 blocks away (go early, It fills up very fast). Surf City Surf School and Shaka Taco less than 2 blocks away. (Kids took a surf lesson. Tacos and wings were fantastic for lunch) Lots of places within a short drive to get fresh seafood, etc. Some of our favs are The Beach Shop & Grill (not at all what you expect from the outside or the name), Surf City BBQ, and Topsail Steamer. There's a park not too far that shows movies on some Friday nights. It's nice to just walk around town some days. The kids really liked that. So many other great places. The end point of this is, there is a bunch of stuff very close, but the beach never seems crowded or noisy. There aren't cars cruising up and down. It's not loud, and super touristy. (the restaurants usually do have a wait, but that's fine; expect it going in, get on the list, have a drink and hang out for a while). We are big fans of this island, town, and house.

Only allowed 5 stars, otherwise I would give it many more stars. First, property was fantastic...great views, comfortable & great location with easy walk to everything. Plus, it suited or vacation needs perfectly. Secondly, the owner was very responsive and accommodating. I had a few questions and got very informative and timely replies. And finally, the owner has earned a repeat customer in me. All of my beach vacations will be tailored around the availability of one of his properties.

What a wonderful place to spend a week at the beach! The house was exceptionally clean, well stocked, and roomy for the 6 of us. We arrived to find initial startup supplies (tp, soap, paper twls, etc), so when we left we paid it forward and left our remaining supplies. We were lucky enough to have exceptional weather and spent most of our time on the beach relaxing & hunting for shark's teeth (found 383 I believe); John was quite impressed w/ our luck. We will most assuredly be back next year!!! Thx for sharing your beach home John!!!

We have rented several homes before and you never know what you are going to get from the pictures but Sandpiper was more than we expected. We rented in February because we like the off season. The location was so close to the pier, shops and stores that it had a little for everyone. We went to Wilmington for the day as well and had a great time walking through all the shops. The layout of the house is great for gathering with friends and spending time playing games, watching moves, talking, laughing and just spending quality time together. The beds were very comfortable, decor was great. Actually really like the paintings by the owner, beautiful. Our dogs had a great time too and loved the cool tile floors and long walks on the beach. This was a stress relieving weekend and we accomplished our goal and then some. I would have to say this is one of the best homes we have rented up and down the coast and would highly recommend to anyone. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience here. We go to Topsail at least once a year. This time we wanted to stay in Surf City. Fantastic!!! Close to everything. The house was great and my in laws loved it. We had a great time. The owner was super nice and accommodating. There were no issues and we all enjoyed being right on the beach. I would recommend highly. Perfect.

We had the pleasure of staying in 208 North Shore in Surf City.We found it to be very comfortable and with a well stocked kitchen.
Unfortunately the last set of steps down to the beach were missing , (as they were on the majority of the homes in that area). I'm sure this was due to high tides and beach erosion. No problem, the house was conveniently located only a couple of homes away from a public beach access on both sides of us. Thank you for sharing your home with us, it was a beautiful home in a perfect location. I recommend this home.

We loved loved loved everything about this property! We go to the beach multiple times each year and this home is by far our very favorite!! It is the perfect location to walk to everything! It is well equipped! My family consisted of 4 senior citizens, one nine year old boy and two 40 something's a s we all equally loved it! Perfect sunsets/sunrises on the porch to drink coffee and enjoy! Ocean views from every room! Just outstanding already booked another week in 2016

We had a great time at the Sand Piper. It's a beautiful house with lovely, clean furnishings and ample kitchen that has all the conveniences. We enjoyed our stay, the beach was great. Our two dogs loved it. The town is great and it's nice to be able to walk to places. I would recommend this property to anybody looking for a seaside getaway with or without pets.

Three couples stayed a week in September 2015. We have stayed in this house many times before John purchased it, BUT since John has owned the house, remarkable upgrades have been done (new roof, ceramic tile on floors, TV upgrades, additional deck chairs, even a pet crate if you bring a dog). It's very bright, airy and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is nicely stocked. Beds are extremely comfortable. Views from the deck are AWESOME! Conveniently located so you can walk most everywhere -- restaurants, bars and shopping. We had an issue with going from the Apple TV to regular cable (with that being said, we are not very electronically inclined), but John called immediately and walked us through it. We can't wait to go back in 2016!!! Thanks again John, we had a FANTASTIC time.
