A great basement cabin getaway. Super close to Brighton, Silverlake and the hikes in the area. Owner was super helpful and responsive when we had issue with the door lock. We stocked and comfy!

We had a lovely stay at David’s. The place was well located, a 10-15min walk to the lifts. David was very communicative and helpful before and throughout our stay. He was kind enough to get a fire going for our arrival. Our favorite part of the rental was the large shower with many heads and the sauna!

A super nice and spacious property right near the Brighton loop. The living room, bedroom, and bathroom was very large and provided plenty of room to relax after a long day of hiking the area. An amazing place if you’re planning on staying in the canyon for a few days or longer. The property owner was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. He was also extremely quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a wonderful staycation for our family! The cabin has a warm, rustic feel and it very roomy. Great location at the mouth of Brighton Resort but you still felt like you were getting away from everything. Terrific kitchen with high-end appliances. Loved the deck and fire pit area. Several great hikes and lakes within a relatively short distance. Our host David was great to work with. We will be back!

David was extremely communicative, responsive, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make the trip as great as possible. Beautiful location. Check in process was ideal- he even made a YouTube video (which came in handy d/t all the snow). Walk right to the lifts. Brighton store just across the street. Personal touches. And clearly a good taste in movies due to the artwork in the bathroom 😀.

Can’t say enough good things about this cabin! Excellent location, great communication with owner. And that bathroom - just wow! Exactly what I was looking for, for a few day ski getaway for myself!

My girlfriend and I stayed for the weekend for her birthday and snowboarding, we had an amazing time! David’s place is perfect, nice well stocked little kitchen, spacious living room and bedroom, and the pictures of the bathroom do not do it justice - you have your own personal sauna and whirlpool for apres ski! It’s as close to ski in ski out as you can get for Brighton - we were sipping on coffee watching an endless line of cars come through, got ready and a short little 5 min walk to first chair. Easy ski in if you take the back roads which is very simple. No issues maintaining a comfortable temperature in the place between the wood burning stove and heated floors. David was always available if we needed anything, super friendly. helpful and flexible! We will definitely be coming back!

The unit is located on the bottom part of the cabin. We got there pretty late at night, and were having a rough time finding it but the owner had a lovely YouTube video with instructions which was super helpful.
We had a great stay and 10/10 would stay again.
The sauna is amazing 😍
The bed was comfy.
The fireplace was cozy.
The bathtub was to die for.
I was overwhelmingly delighted to stay in this gem.

The owner of this property is directly engaged. We checked in with a few minor issues ( not of the owners doing) but they were addressed right away after a brief call with the property owner. David went above and beyond to insure our stay was perfect!

Gorgeous detail and lots of extras
We loved staying at this amazing cabin! It's a gorgeous space and location. The details throughout the whole space are so thoughtfully created and not to mention fun! Led lights, hot tube, sauna, and if you love music, the speakers throughout are awesome. The living space and kitchen area were great to gather in and allowed for our group to easily connect. We loved spending time on the deck as well. This was a great space for our group but can also be a great space for intimate one on one connection. Highly recommend.

Perfect mountain cabin getaway
This cabin is so cool. If you want to enjoy Brighton and big cottonwood the best way possible, this cabin is the perfect home base. It’s cozy, it’s cool, the deck is unbelievable to hang out on and the views are incredible. It’s got everything you need, and the hot tub is the cherry on top for me! You wont be disappointed if you come up for a stay here. It’s awesome. Right at the base of the resort for winter and there are tons of hikes and trails right around the cabin to enjoy all summer as well. This place is great!

Not what we expected
Located at the beginning of the Brighton loop. I expected ski in ski out to be just that, but you have to either walk or drive to the mountain. There is no ski out. Maybe with a bunch of snow you could find a way to ski in, but not the ski in/out place that was expected. Sinks look great in the bathroom, but difficult to get hot water and they splash water all over you when used. The biggest disappointment was that there were ants all over the place. I laid down on the couch to watch TV and found ants crawling on me and all over the floor. Texted David and he brought ant traps that did nothing. There were ants crawling in all of our stuff by the time we left. Door would not lock when we left the place and was not locked when we arrived. No way to lock place when you leave. Paid plenty for this place and had no control over the heat. Heated floor was not enough, so a fire was needed. Good luck finding a comfortable temp. Either way too hot with a fire or too cold with just the heated floor. For the price being paid, you should be able to control the heat. Not at all happy with our stay here, but the place looks great in the pics.

Little Jot Up The Canyon
We ran into a few issues when first arriving with other guest staying in our suite. The owner remedy the issue and we ended up having a nice stay.

This place is great
Excellent location. Our stay was the first week of August. There is a lot to do from here. There are several trail heads with-in walking distance. We drove the pass over to Park City. The drive was great and Park City was okay but to be honest we decided we’d rather just stay local to the cabin location and enjoy the outdoors. We saw several deer and a mother moose and baby right next to the cabin. There was moose and deer sightings on the hikes. The cabin was honestly the cleanest VRBO stay we have ever stayed at. I’m a big fan of radiant heating and this place has that. We will definitely plan another trip here.

Great location for hiking and nature watching!
Location was great as it was right across the street from silver lake and the Brighton general store. We got to see the local moose in the area right outside the cabin!

Just OK - felt like a dungeon
I thought I was booking a luxury condo in Brighton, but this was far from that. The photos are very deceiving. I booked this rental for 3’nights for just me as I was attending a wedding at the Solitude Resort. I arrived at 10pm to pitch darkness. No lighting on the outside of the home except a small motion light by the “front” back door. The check in process is not a really a process. It says the last four of your phone number is the code to get in. The key pad is inoperable and the unit was unlocked (on top of a “front” back door that takes a wrestler to open! That “front” back entry door doesn’t lock and you enter into a shared laundry locker room area.). Who knows who and what was waiting behind the door? I’m a woman traveling alone and I was scared! I opened the door while on FaceTime with my husband just in case.
Once inside I locked the small deadbolt. You can’t lock door when you leave!! Scary. Turned on kitchen light, half are burnt out in wagon wheel light and one ceiling light is half burnt out as well. I went through the whole place turning on every light I could. I couldn’t see my hand in front of my face. The only good lighting is in the bathrm so I kept them on. The only lighting in the living room is a string of outdoor lights above your head. 3/4 of that string was out as well. On top of all the burned out bulbs, the ones that work are Edison bulbs which are very dim. It was just as dark in daytime! No light!
Refrigerator had a gallon of past dated milk. Probably from the last renter. I did not cook, but the kitchen has a few pots and pans but only 1 glass & 1 plastic drinking cup. There isn’t a dishwasher and the sponge wasn’t new(didn’t touch it). There wasn’t any cleaner. There are no amenities available except a roll of tp and pt, not even hand or bath soap. Luckily I had a bar of soap in my bag from a recent hotel stay. There was a hair dryer & enough clean towels. I didn’t use the jetted tub or sauna, no operating instructions. Knowing which handle does what in the shower would be nice so you don’t get a cold pre-shower before getting in. I never got any hot water in the bathrm sinks. Bed is comfy. TV and wiring hangs from ceiling. Only operable windows are in bedroom. They have shutters and are dirty. Slider in living rm is off limits. The wifi worked fine. Guests upstairs last night came at 11pm, very loud. Host responded timely when messaged, he was pleasant. Couldn’t find trash dump. Brighton store has a snack bar.

good and bad
The area surrounding the house is very beautiful, very close to Brighton Resort. There are no restaurants near the cabin. It is about 30 minutes over the mountain to Park City, but it is a very beautiful drive. The house is pretty much is shown in the pictures. I did not realize when I booked that this is the bottom floor of a two story cabin. We heard every footstep and toilet flush of the people above us. The water was not hot enough for the whirlpool bath . The host was available by phone to correct problems.

Wow!!! Beyond satisfied
This place is perfect for a couples get away!!! Sauna, 2-person bathtub with jetties, dual shower, etc. Walking distance to Brighton mountain! Everything works great! We never ran out of towels, toilet paper or anything. This place has an awesome set up and I’m glad I got to enjoy it for nearly a week. The owners clearly go above and beyond to make sure that everything is accessible, they even have easy-access instructional videos for the fireplace and satellite! We had no issues staying warm between the fireplace and the heated tile flooring (despite it being 18 degrees and snowing out). The kitchen had all the pots, pans, etc to be able to cook the meals we wanted to. I’m absolutely going to stay here again, and looking forward to bringing friends and family also and rent out both units! This place is magical and I highly recommend staying here if possible.

A nice place to get away and relax, and probably a great place for skiing season!
Very beautiful and cozy, nice location (even if you aren't there during skiing season), comfortable bathing for two, great entertainment systems! Only complaint was lack of toilet paper and was not given a gift basket for our honeymoon because we did not pay extra for the massage.

Perfect!!
My wife and I stayed at this beautiful cabin for our honeymoon in July. The cabin was perfect and David the owner was great to work with. David was flexible and checked in to ensure our stay was going great. Will definitely book this amazing cabin again in the future.

Great little place close to what matters
This was a great location for our ski trip to Brighton (walking distance) and Solitude (5 minute dive). The apartment is clean and warm, and David was extremely welcoming and helpful. Make sure to read all of the info he has on the website. I will definitely consider staying here again.

Nice little cabin!
We came up for our Honeymoon. The cabin is so close to Brighton you could walk there! A great little space to get away from the city & relax after skiing, and still within distance that it’s not too inconvenient to run down the mountain if we needed something.

Disappointed with a lack of communication and information
The cabin is in a great area for access to Brighton and is decorated uniquely with a rustic/ski/snowboard theme but we encountered some issues. Most of which include a lack of communication and information. We weren’t given directions to the property and our GPS of course took us to the wrong place, but it only took a few minutes and a few times driving around to find the cabin. We weren’t given any check in instructions so I emailed the owner the day of check in and he said he left the door unlocked. When we arrived we weren’t sure where to enter the cabin for our unit, a little bit of info would have been nice, we ended up walking upstairs and running into the upstairs tenant. She was helpful and showed us where to go. We soon learned there was no way to lock up our unit, and absolutely no instructions inside about how to lock our unit. We contacted the owner and it took about an hour to hear back that we needed to download an app to be able to lock the unit. This wasn’t really acceptable to us—when we checked in we wanted to drop off our baggage and valuable camera equipment and quickly get started on our hike but to do this we were delayed and we ended up going on our hike before hearing from the owner and locking our valuables in the car. We never even bothered with the app for locking the cabin because it was such a hassle and we didn’t want to give our personal information to an unknown app. Also, since we had no WiFi information it took quite a bit of time to download the app. Several lightbulbs needed to be replaced in the unit, and be prepared for low ceilings. My husband cut his finger on one of the nightstand lamps that has a really rough edge around it. There was no dish soap and no dish sponge to clean dishes with so we ended up driving back into SLC to buy these items. We would never leave dirty dishes...I’m not sure what the owner expected us to do. We didn’t sleep well due to really loud water dripping noises anytime the upstairs tenant used water. We ended up leaving one night early and just drove home, which was incredibly disappointing since that was our one year anniversary. I think that better communication and if there was an information sheet that would have been helpful. All in all, an eclectic cabin but the lack of service and communication prevented it from being a good experience for us. We have stayed at over a dozen and have never had an experience like this. :(

Bathroom is fantastic. Kitchen adequate for simple ski dinners. Comfy master.

Overpriced and lacking details
For a place billing itself as a honeymoon cottage it was surprisingly ill equipped for exhausted newlyweds. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. There was only a single dirty wine glass in the cupboards and not even any coffee grounds next to the coffee machine that would be there at even the cheapest of motels. The bathroom was nicely designed, but there were holes in the walls, broken or missing molding and the placed didn't seem as clean as one would expect when asked to pay an exorbitant cleaning fee. It felt like a rip off when it was all over. I have had much better experiences with other cabin rentals for less money.

Right next to Brighton at the top of the mountain
Great place. Stars in the lower unit. Cool bathroom with a shower and a jacuzzi, good space overall for a 1 bedroom... and a sauna! Saw a moose about 50 feet away. I would recommend staying here for sure.
