Great location with a very comfortable vibe. We felt relaxed and welcome immediately. Loved being able to meet and chat with Steve & Diane. The bed was especially comfortable and wonderful being able to sleep with the doors open (strong storm prevented us from being able to sleep in the bubble) but didn’t feel like we missed out on an experience as it was still such a quiet, calm, and special place.

Loved this property. We spent the whole night in the clear tent, the stars were amazing.

Loved our short stay here. We used the bubble house and it was super fun and a unique experience. We were greeted and given all kinds of great advice!

As other have said, the bubble with the bed is very cool and the pictures don't do it justice (I tried taking some and it just doesn't photograph well). The bed is very comfortable plus the temp is always comfy regardless of what's happening outside. We got lucky the first night and the stars were spectacular. We also didn't realize how comfy the rest of the house is - large living space downstairs, king bed and bath upstairs, and Steve and Diane provide all sorts of thoughtful touches. Would definitely recommend and stay at least two nights so you don't miss the stars on a cloudy night. Lots of nearby activities, so a great location as well.

Absolutely amazing! The bubble dome was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced, and the bedroom and living space was such an added bonus! Peaceful and quiet neighborhood and extremely relaxing on the upper deck with a fantastic view of Maui and surrounding islands.
Our hosts were both helpful with local recommendations and very respectful of our presence in their home. We will definitely be back!

Amazing Review
Everything was wonderful! Great hospitality, sightseeing suggestions, and an amazing view of the stars. Perfect location for an early morning trek to Haleakala for sunrise. 100% would stay again if I make it back to Maui.

Breathtaking views!
Stargazing in the dome was such a unique and relaxing experience! Just what I needed. The views of the sunset, stars and sunrise over Haleakala were absolutely breathtaking... even for locals like ourselves. Steve and Diane are exceptional hosts; so friendly and welcoming! Overall, it was a very lovely experience. We'll be back again. Mahalo!

Unique stay! Close to Haleakalā
There are some quirks so read everything & decide for yourself. The hosts, Steve & wife are lovely. Very hospitable & knowledgeable. They have carved up their house to enable separate entry, separate bedroom & bathrooms(half bath near bedroom & full bath downstairs off kitchen) plus kitchenette (mini fridge, toaster oven & microwave) yet their kitchen, which is in the middle of the place, is off limits, except for the coffee station. This means that you’re kinda in their space. Again they’re lovely, so was fine for us & they even set up the coffee machine to make our 2:30am pot for our Haleakalā stargazing/sunrise excursion!
Now the bubble tent, it’s really unique & was cool to experience, however there’s some learning involved. Again, Steve is great. He knows everything & advises you on how to manage the bubble. See it’s inflated & so you need to go through the ‘anti-chamber’ before entering the dome, like you’re at the Intl Space Station! Obviously since it’s inflated, there’s a pump, with a motor sound. Then you’re sleeping on a an air mattress. If you don’t turn on the heater early enough, you end up fogging the dome, thereby not easily seeing stars. So, for us, it was a neat experience, although we moved into the bedroom for one of the nights when we couldn’t really see any stars & the motor sounds got tiresome, for us.
I would absolutely return because Steve & wife are so great. Plus you’re right at the Haleakalā turn off, so from their place to Summit top is 1 hour (1/2 hr to entrance gate) Go enjoy the adventure! PS, you’re right in a neighborhood, yet Steve made sure that you feel enough privacy in the dome. & obviously, you’ll be getting up with the sun, in the dome cuz there’s no shades, lol

The coolest stay EVER!
My husband and I absolutely LOVED staying in the rooftop bubble. It was one of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed! It was warm, and so comfortable, and we could see soooo many stars!
Steve was amazing! He told us where a bunch of constellations were and how to find them, and he made a great recommendation for dinner (Kula Bistro... seriously, check it out). He also gave us great info in regards to Haleakalā (which was the reason we stayed in Kula, we were going to the top of the volcano to watch the sunrise. Steve used to work up there).
We had to leave super early, so we didn’t get to enjoy his breakfast, but I’m sure it would’ve been amazing. Such great and warm hospitality. 10/10 we would recommend his place to ANYONE traveling to upcountry.
