Although the property manager tried to remedy the problems at this VRBO (Abby even bought us a dinner in apology), the stay was fraught with failures: not operating WIFI, washing machine, smoke detector and door locks. Plus the kitchen utensils, dishes and pans were littered with insect excrement, chairs were broken, screen doors barely opened, mold in bathroom and a long list of maintenance issues direrly needing attention. Perhaps this property manager needs some assistance to encourage the owner to repair the apartment and bring it up to Vrbo standards.

The property and location were as described. The views are very nice. The host and property manager were easy communicate with and helpful when we had personal requests before and during the stay. The property manager met us at the ferry, helped arrange a couple taxis before we got a Jeep and followed up the ensure our stay was as we expected. Very happy with the property, location and service provided by the host and property manager.

We stayed in the lower, one bedroom unit. It was huge. Everything was comfortable. It is not decorated per the latest trend, but that was MORE than made up for by the amenities and price. We used the cooler, beach chairs and snorkel gear every day. We washed a load of laundry there, which allowed us to pack less. We cooked most of our meals there due to Covid. The kitchen was well equipped.
The lower unit covered patio has a South view of the ocean, has nice chairs and catches nice breezes. I did get some bug bites sitting out in the evening. You could rent the upper unit which has a screened covered patio if you are concerned about bugs.
The house is close enough to walk into Cruz Bay, but the sidewalks are mostly non-existent and there are two significant hills to traverse. A car rental is a much better option. The Dolphin market that is nearby is well stocked with groceries and liquor.
Finally, the property manager Abby, is absolutely the best. She made sure we had everything we needed and made some wonderful recommendations about where to go on the island. We would definitely rent again.

As usual with most St. John residence the driveway is tricky and Jeep really needs to be backed into/turned around at bottom. This is tricky if 2 jeeps. Abby the unit manager was very helpful and nice.

We loved how close and convenient Harts Terrace was to town, only a few minutes away to a grocery store or restaurants and the night life in Cruz Bay. Abby the manager was there to greet us when we arrived from the ferry on St. John and took us to pick up our rental car and led us up to the house. She showed us around and helped get us acquainted with the place and went over a map of the Island with us. We found the home very clean and comfortable and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay. We are already booked there again for next year. Can't wait to return.

Hart's Terrace exceeded all of our expectations for our vacation on St. John. We have been to St. John many times but this is definitely our favorite place to stay! The HUGE porch area is the perfect place to relax and take in the spectacular view! We started all of our days and ended all of our days there. 😊
Hart's Terrace had great privacy and was still close to Town and all the beaches. The bed was very comfortable and the entire place was well decorated and clean. We enjoyed being able to grill out a couple nights on the grill. The view from the large bedroom window was also priceless!! A great way to get up every morning!!
Chris was extremely helpful answering all our questions in advance and giving us some suggestions on what to do while we are on the island. He gave us some ideas of places we had never been before!
Once we got on the island, Abby was very warm and friendly and welcoming! We immediately felt like we were part of the island once we arrived!
We can't wait to go back to St. John and Hart's Delight soon! We are already trying to work out our available dates so we can contact Chris again.

Perfect Stay
Wonderful place to stay at while in Saint John. Our host was very attentive and responsive to our emails and texts. The place was clean, neat and nicely decorated. Highly recommended.

We came post-hurricane and realized things wouldn't be normal. But we still had a great stay and would come back to this house again. Chris on the front end was very helpful in answering questions and getting us ready. While there, Abby was extremely helpful in providing local advice and getting us acquainted. We couldn't have been more pleased with her help. The view is great. Location is close enough to town to get supplies or go out. We would rent again. Thanks for such a great stay and if you are thinking of going to St John, I highly recommend going now. Post hurricane there is plenty of damage, but the people are excited to have tourist coming back and you'll have the beaches and restaurants to yourself.

Cozy, comfortable and private
For our first visit to St. John we were looking for an easy, laid-back experience, and Hart's Terrace was exactly right. This house is in a quiet mountainside neighborhood, about a mile and a half from town. The unique style of this 2-family villa is easy to adapt too. The house is divided, lower unit is very quiet and private. There was a young family upstairs during our stay, and we rarely saw or heard them. My husband and I are morning people - we have fond memories of lazy breakfasts out on the terrace, surrounded by greenery, listening to tropical birds and gazing down the hillside to the ocean at Chocolate Hole Bay. We drove our jeep easily from this location to all destinations on the island. The balmy weather was perfect in February, allowing us to snorkel seven different beaches within the national park during our week. We stocked the kitchen from nearby Starfish Market (beware, groceries are very expensive). We bbq'd a few meals, and enjoyed several fantastic dinners out at restaurants recommended by Sinbad. Unique plus: the terrace is essentially an "outdoor living room". You walk thru it to get to the kitchen, you eat meals out there, you sit out there to relax. We loved it. (Wear bug repellant at all times.) Things to note: the stone stairs down from the driveway are steep and a bit difficult to navigate at night. We also noticed that the upstairs unit has exclusive access to the pool. There is a connecting staircase, but this lower unit is gated off from its use. Perhaps there could be "shared hours" when both families could use the pool. In summary, Hart's Terrace was a lovely place from which to explore beautiful St. John!

Perfect place for two
My husband and I have been to St. John many times. It is very difficult to find a nice vacation rental for two. Hart's Terrace was perfect for us. The location is close to town and restaurants and close to the north shore beaches, yet quiet and with a lovely view. The bedroom and living area was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated as was the bathroom. The kitchen is separated from the bedroom by a wonderful open terrace. We had breakfast and "happy hour" out there every day. It has plenty of room with table and sitting areas, a wonderful view, and a cool breeze. A nice plus was that the kitchen was stocked with coffee, sugar, tea, and essentials to get us started for the week and the fridge has cold drinks. We didn't have to go to the grocery store immediately. The kitchen too was spacious with new stove, microwave, fridge and plenty of counter space. We usually go out to eat each evening but this year we cooked one dinner meal on the new gas grill. Sinbad met us at the car ferry and introduced us to the villa. He was very attentive and accessible whenever we did have a question or need. We rarely have stayed at the same place twice on our trips to St. John but we will be staying here again. I'm sure you will love it as much as we.
