We were here for 19 wonderful nights during the annual Tucson Mineral and Fossil Show. The house was immaculate, the kitchen amazing, the beds comfortable. Ron, the property manager, was very helpful. This is a very special property with an interesting history. We look forward to our stay in 2025!

We really enjoyed our stay at this unique and funky house, clean, comfortable, great back yard. Even good bike storage in the breezeway. The Kitchen is even better than the photos, nicely stocked with equipment and spices. Much appreciated. Loved the history of the "Gem House". My husband said it's one of his favorites and we have stayed in a ton of VRBO's around the world in some amazing places. But, he was just that comfortable there that he ranked it super high. Thanks for preserving the this mid century gem.

This was a great place for family to stay as we moved our sophmore into the forms Great house and the pool was fabulous Nicely furnished, comfortable befs, and grrat location Host was very acvomidating and responsive We will be back Go Wild Cats

Great property

This neighborhood was quiet, maybe a bit sketchy. Watch when driving, stop signs at crossings were not obeyed… almost got t-boned. House itself was awesome….retro vibe. Anyone over 5’6 will not like the showers,,,, very low. Solar heated pool…. Misrepresented …. No solar cover…. No solar heat even with the lovely weather. This house was close to everything we wanted to do. Easy to get in touch with the owner!!!

Clean, comfortable home with great amenities. The pool was great and the house had everything you could need for your stay.

This was an excellent space--so easy to get to places we wanted to visit. Necessary stores nearby. Great place for our two dogs, as well. The dog space has plenty of room, so they could run around. It was quiet. And it was well-stocked with what we needed to do our own cooking when we wanted. Would highly recommend this property! Thank you!

I was having a birthday during the week we were moving in the the dorm at UA with my son. Having a pool in the backyard was my present to myself for the week! The house was beautiful and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Terrific house beautifully maintained

This is a beautiful property with all the amenities. Ron the caretaker is awesome. I didn’t need hand holding but the owners are available if you need them. Very cool property. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for making my weekend that much more special

House is super cute and extremely clean. Beds and furniture were very comfy. Easy to get in and owner was very responsive (when I texted I was there; I didn’t need anything during my stay).

Check in was easy even when we requested to do so early. House had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Lots of upgrades to a vintage house (it is adorable). Lots of outdoor seating and shade. Aside from the pool, the grass and huge shade tree helped to keep us cool too. Would definitely stay here again.

House was nice for a small family get together, pool is nice and house has a good sized kitchen open to the table for family dinners.

It is a home, more beautiful than many and more comfortable than most. It is well-equipped with everything you might expect and then much more. We hate to leave.

This was our first vacation rental experience and it couldn’t have been better! Clean home, quiet cul-de-sac location, and the hosts thought of everything! We felt right at home! When we had a question during our stay, the host was super quick to respond and was very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Wow! This house was definitely more than we imagined. Being familiar with Tucson we wanted a location near UA and downtown. Both are an easy15-20 minute drive. Close to any shopping that needs to be done.. Pleasantly unique with a great view of the Catalina mountains. Very clean and well equipped including modern appliances. Big back yard (loved the pool cabana). The pool is not heated and was a little too cold to use (March). Roomy and comfortable inside. We frequently took walks in the neighborhood area. Ron (the manager) was very helpful/prompt in answering any questions. If/when we visit our Tucson relatives in the future this will be our number 1 'go to' place. Dominic E.

Beautiful home and back yard in convenient location. We enjoyed relaxing and watching hummingbirds in the quiet back yard. Pool still too cool this time of year but still lovely to sit by. House was super clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!!

Lovely mid century at the end of a cul de sac in walkable neighborhood. Large fenced yard perfect for dogs and kiddos. Well stocked kitchen: blender, baking pans, drip coffee maker, large/small pots, plates, cups, wine glasses and lots of cutlery. Plastic ware for pool side use. Plenty of dish and laundry soap, toilet paper, cotton swabs and balls. Lovely high quality soft bedding, pillows and cozy mattresses. Fluffy towels and wash cloths. Living room furnature very inviting and cozy. It was very clean on arrival. My only complaint is the highly perfumed plug in air fresheners which we decomishioned right away (the house had no odors once aired out so their use unnecessary). This is one of our most comfortable rentals yet. To top it off the mountain view is spectacular from the living room window! The yard is securely fenced: the front by chain link and back a high block wall. This was perfect for our dear dog who loves being outdoors. It also provides privacy for backyard reading or pool use. It was too chilly to swim in January and February as the pool is solar heated but in summer it would be great. There is a nice covered back patio and a large oak that provides shade and habitat. The property manager was pleasant and never intrusive. I did not need to contact him outside of check in and departure as the house is so well stocked and maintained. A few necessary repairs were shared with him at departure and he said he'd take care of them right away. We are grateful to have found this little gem. Thanks to the owners for sharing it and hiring such great staff. It was hard to leave! Hopefully we can return next year.

This property was even better than it looked online! Extremely comfortable beds/furnishings. Lovely, private backyard. The home sits on an extra large lot, which increased the feeling of privacy. It was somewhat cold and rainy during our visit, but we were snug in this gorgeous home. My husband and I are originally from Tucson, and are gem and mineral dealers. We enjoyed staying in this home originally owned by a founder of the gem show. Don't forget to look at the chimney when you drive up!

This was such an incredible property! The pictures don't do it enough justice. Everything was super clean and the decor was super unique. My entire family enjoyed everything about the house. The owner was very nice and communicated quickly utilizing emails and texts. I couldn't have asked for a better place to relax and take in the surroundings than this property. I will absolutely be back and will probably stay longer because it is such a great place. Totally blew me away, I highly recommend to anyone traveling to Tucson!!

What a great house! It is decorated beautifully and has everything you may need for your stay. The backyard is delightful and comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay in The Gem House!

Our family travelled from Washington State to attend the U of A football game against the UW Huskies and visit our grandaughter who is a new student at U 0f A. The home was located central to all activities. We even managed to visit Saguaro National Park. Our 12 & 15 year old grandchildren loved the pool.

This home is so unique i will go back just to stay there. And the host are great as well. Must stay if your in tucson.

The home was perfectly situated for a tour of U of A and the chance to get to know the area better. The house is nicely outfitted and very comfortable, and the owner/property manager was very responsive and thoughtful. We would stay here again.
