I hate saying this but the house is a dog friendly house and unfortunately there are a lot of strong dog odors ( urine in our opinion). The real estate company had the carpets cleaned for us but it only helped a little. Other than the odor the house was efficient, bathrooms need updating.

I was expecting a pet smell since the house allowed dogs, but surprisingly the smell was not there.- Awesome location. Beach is literally across the street (3 minute walk lugging beach stuff). Also centrally located to major attractions.- Community pool is very convenient and clean as well. We usually used it later in the day (no shade) and had it to ourselves for the most part.Cons:- Could use some TLC. Vacuum was ineffective. Hose sprayer outside is broken. Shower curtain has black mold. Squeaky mattresses.- Grassy area outside has little picky things that got caught in the dog's paw pads and irritated them. Also got caught in shoe/sandle soles and got tracked into the house. Ouchs in bare feet.

When we arrived to the property, there was dog hair on the floor throughout the house. There were water bottles and food packages under the beds. The A/C couldn’t be lowered below 76 due to the unit freezing, so it was hot in the house. When we called management and requested fans, they never followed up or brought us fans. Otherwise, the house fit our needs. Probably wouldn’t stay here again though.

The house was as listed and very nice. Having the community pool was great for all. Beds need a LOT of work. Not very comfortable at all. Master room you could feel the springs in the mattress. Second queen room bed was soft but made a lot of noise. 3rd room beds werent comfortable either. Other than that the house was great. Property managers did a great job keeping us up to date on tropical storm Elsa and any things we needed to do. Everyone at beach realty was nice and helpful.

The house has been kept up nicely. The exterior and and deck look recently updated. The pet friendly house close to the beach is great. The carpeted stairs needs replacing. The only negative is the beds. The beds were not comfortable. They should definitely be replaced. The community pool was nice and accommodating.

The house has a terrible dog smell.
Dottie went above and beyond cleaning the house and by trying to get rid of the smell. The guy that shampoos the carpet was great as well. He brought an electric scented blower and it helped tremendously. Both workers were excellent!!

We loved staying in Kitty Hawk and the location of the beach house to the beach was awesome. Great views from the house and only a short walk to get to the beach. The pool was very nice but it could use some chairs and umbrellas, you have to bring your own. The house could use some sprucing up but it wasn’t bad. The queen in the master in fine, but the one in the other bedroom needs to be replaced. It squeaks and is uncomfortable to sleep in causing your back to hurt in the morning. There was a shoe someone left under the dresser, paper behind the nightstand and lots of dust bunnies under the furniture. Bathrooms were clean and in working order, need exhaust fans installed in all of them. Some of the wands to the blinds we’re broke and one of the curtain rods was sagging in the living room. The kitchen stove needed a good cleaning. It stays very warm inside the house, especially in the bedrooms since the sign says not to turn the AC down below 76. A lot of water pressure in the shower. It could use a vacuum kept there since the carpet on the stairway gets very dirty. Needs new and larger rug in the entryway. Rugs and swiffer head had to be washed when we arrived. The outdoor hose has pinholes all through it and there’s no hot water in the outdoor shower. We had to call 3 times to get someone to help with the DVD player, that was a bit disappointing. In spite of these minor flaws we had a wonderful vacation.

The beds are old and sorely need updating, all the beds squeak so much they will wake you up when you move. The carpet on the steps smells so had to buy a couple air fresheners and the vinyl flooring and lack of rugs will have you sweeping like crazy. The proximity to the beach and the quiet pool are worth the minor setbacks though. The house had zero supplies to get you started though, not even a salt and pepper shaker. The rental company left a bag with some samples but no trash bag or toilet paper so bring your own!

This house has the basics you need for a nice trip but the beds need updating. They are very noisy and the covers are very outdated. We were constantly waking each other by just rolling over. The shower curtain in the master really isn't functional.

Sign by thermostat stated that it had to stay at 76 degrees or above or would break. Very warm in the house! Asked maintenance to come in and they set it at 72 which was much better.
