Extremely professional stuff , location is awesome rooms and washroom is clean , decent breakfast .Temple of tooth is 1 km away and reachable by tuktuk Special call-out to elderly manager who is hardworking and so welcoming!

When we entered our room, the sheets turned out to be dirty. This was immediately solved by a staffmember by covering the bed with clean (new) sheets. The rest of the room was okay, but quite dated. The bathroom was also just okay. The view was beautiful, except that the sliding door to our balcony was broken. The breakfast and food were okay but not restaurant worthy. Dirty tablecloths, glasses and cutlery didn't make it a good experience. I believe the staff did not recieve the right training to be restaurant personel but they did their best. All in all, a hotel with potential but unfortunately in decay. The photos make it look nicer than it actually is and the staff needs training.

The hotel's tuk tuk was way too expensive, the driver charged two to three times the fair price with an excuse that traffic would be busy. This was not the case at all. The tuk tuk was full of rubbish, speakers and other stuff so we could barely sit. For this reason we did not arrange the rest of our transportation and the transfer to the next location through the hotel. We did this for much less money through a good taxi company where we got a luxury bus including a well dressed driver and bottled water. When the hotel staff saw this we were given unpleasant looks.

The facilities

Het uitzicht was fenomenaal, en het personeel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Op het uitzicht na heeft het hotel weinig te bieden. Extreem gedateerde kamer (waar wij in zaten), met oude apparatuur wat erg veel herrie maakt. Gaten en vlekken in de bedlinnen. Schimmel op het plafond en in de badkamer. Slordig gepoetst, en overal mieren.

Very hospitable and kind hotel crew. They do everything to make you feel at home, from matching breakfast to driving you around in their 'company tuk-tuk'. The views will make up for the slightly outdated interior, which by the way is still very comfortable.

Some kind of construction is going on at the basement level which gives a discomfort during the stay.

We were so excited about staying at Ceyloni Panorama but were absolutely disgusted once we entered the room. The room was filled with insects. There were ants on the floor, in the bathroom near the towels and in the sugar packets which were kept for tea and coffee. Huge mosquitoes flying around the room and bathroom. A moth and two lizards in the bathroom. The lizards would come into the bathroom from the slotted vents, we have been to 5 other hotels in Sri Lanka and all of them had the same slotted vents but had a fine mesh that stopped insects from entering. The room was also not cleaned properly and there was so much dust and hair in the space between the shower and sink where a broom could have easily fit. The furniture as well was old and well past it’s due for a replacement. However our night in Kandy wasn’t completely ruined as after we showed everything to the manager he agreed to allow us to cancel without any charges and apologized repeatedly for the inconvenience and even offered to provide us with transportation to another hotel.
