Essen, Pool, Fahrradabstellraum.
Vom Tal her kam unwahrscheinlich lauter Lärm, Musik oder DC.

Leider

Only location. Fresh air. Nice view.
Worst experience I've had in a hotel. There was a problem with the booking that was not my fault. Hotel did not receive my booking from booking.com. The receptionist was super rude for a problem that was not my fault. She gave us a room but she made the experience very bad from the beggining. In my booking one extra bed was included for my daughter but no bed in the room. They gave us a tiny room for 3 people. My husband had to sleep on the floor because we couldn't fit all 3 in the bed. So again worst experience ever. The only good thing was the location.

It is situated right where you can see Oberwiesenthal
The rooms are small for Family with 1 child.

Close to the runs
The food was awful the diversity and the quality of the food was really bad and there were not many options for vegans or vegetarians

Kids entertainment
Food. Breakfast is OK. No lunch options. Restaurant (which is expensive and small) work only few hours in the evening. No teapot in the room.

Modern room with nice view. Friendly staff and nice pool.
Very few vegan choices at the monstrous buffet. Bathroom quite tiny. Wifi connection not really available in the room. Highly sensitive door so that you could hear anything that was moving in the hallway - loud, regular cleaning trolleys were pushed through the corridor at 7.30 am. Many kids were around.

Breakfast was ok, facility is very kids friendly and close to the ski lifts.
Room was a little small

the only positive things:
- location of the hotel is great for skiing and too bad for other activities e.g. hiking
- breakfast stands out compared to everything else in the hotel
they room rates are not acceptable at all for what you get:
- tiny little rooms - bigger rooms are available for an upsell
- unfriendly hotel staff (well not even unfriendly, they just don’t give any attention to their guests with the exception of one friendly lady from reception and one waiter, a trainee, in the restaurant)
- only two capsules of coffee for free in the room (which was 2x espresso in one room and 2x decaf coffee in the other room), regardless of the length of your stay
- soap was empty upon arrival
- towels were missing in one room upon arrival
- power electricity looks really dangerous because everything is plugged into multi sockets and some of them are even not plugged in into the main socket so you can’t switch on light or in the other room the minibar wasn’t cooling
- hotel offers a pool but bathrobe is available at charge only
- towels are worn
- internet crashes down all the time which is bothering if you need to work (positive comment on this: I sent a message to the hotel in the evening telling that internet is down and technicians showed up in the morning and re-startet the router, however it was down again in the afternoon)
- even before arrival the pistes have been closed due to bad conditions. I asked the hotel about a shuttle service to the Czech‘ pistes because I couldn’t find information on the internet. They replied I should search on the website. I responded that I can’t find information and that’s why I’m asking them. Even sent a reminder. Never heard back from them.

This hotel is said to be a short walk from center of town but it is a long long walk up hill. 8 Euros back by taxi!! It is huge with 7 floors and many facilities. Deals with coach parties and conferences.
It had a bar but the service was a bit poor; staff simply disappeared! The main dining room is catering for the parties and independent travellers had a very limited [but good] menu

Great welcoming by staff at reception. Actually chatting a bit about private stuff as well. Nice. Despite the interior being from the 80/90s it certainly woke memories from first hotel visits in childhood, with coca-cola 0.5L vending machine and speckled concrete flooring. A game room with air hockey and other gaming machines. Multiple renting opportunities for bikes, mini golf and so on. Own tourist info in hotel. Two restaurants. Basically a lot like all inclusive stay in Egypt. Breakfast buffet was huge and pretty to look at. 👍. In house cinema with daily program. Daily program for everyone displayed in reception and lifts to make day more varied. Evening party with dj/ comedian.
Parking costs reasonable 7€/day (off season) with leave and return at no extra cost option.
The classic room at 16m2 is really surprisingly small. No air con, fridge or fly nets in front of windows. Punishing in summer. The indirect message was, use the room for a sleep and spent the rest of the day anywhere else but there. Bathroom cubicle was super tiny.
Double bed was made off pushed together twin beds which moved apart when spending too much time in middle of bed, no good.
Pet charge at 29€/night crazy. Understandable as seen as alternative pay reason to a kid and kids you have to pay for normally. But they normally get a bed and lots of other cool services in this specific hotel. The pet got nothing, no treats, no pet bed, no allowance to come to breakfast buffet. At this price very unreasonable.
The evening dinner buffet 24€ /person seemed quite high but again still very nice buffet with lots of choice. Hot food clearly on salty side to g t us to buy more drinks which were charged extra.
The swimming pool water was really cold. Took a lot swimming to get warm there. All the shiny pictures on booking.com are really just shiny. The reality is a bit more dated.
We felt sorry for staff at breakfast buffet, only maybe 1-2 waiters for plate removal for maybe 200 visitors.
Lady at tourist info didn't even know where the hotel was on the map, shambles.

The Kinder buffet is nice for the children. For the family choosing the "Halbpension" is good! we enjoy the snow and stay in the AHORN.
The check-in time was so late, around 6 pm. We were waiting in the hotel lobby and don't have room to check-in for a long time. We drove almost 5 hours to AHORN, so we were very tired to stay in the lobby, especially with 4 years old kid and a 4month baby.
We hope AHORN can improve it without any reason in the snow season that the outside is cold.

there are a lot of activities for children
the room was very small and super expensive. also the stuff was not kind in the moment we asked for advices

The room was big enough and the food itself was mostly good. The icecream and cocktails menu in the bar was also good, and the personnel themselves were very friendly (there just weren't enough of them!). We liked the pool and the kid's play area was really great - our two-year-old spent quite a lot of time climbing there.
- The room itself looked like it was from the 90s/00s: there were stains on the carpet, dust on some of the surfaces, and the fridge had clearly not been checked/cleaned.
- The staff forgot to set up my child's bed, and they *almost* missed her bedtime in setting one up when I called about it, so we almost had to sleep our two-year-old on the couch.
- The staff put my parents in a room on the same floor but a long way from us
- Check-in was absolutely wild: there was a huge line and each checkin seemed to take about 10 minutes. That meant a long time waiting, and it wasn't just us - this seemed to be repeated every day. I'm not sure why they haven't made the process easier for themselves yet, this is clearly awful.
- There aren't enough wait staff for the cafe/bar. The ones there did a great job, they just need more people.
- The buffet meals were good, but for breakfast especially I would have liked more consistency. I like a hot breakfast and our first day they had sausage but no bacon/beans, the second day they had bacon (which looked very sad), and the third day they only had beans but no hot meat option at all. I would have preferred that the same things be available so I can form a pattern/habit for the mornings: much as the cold meats and bread options were consistent.
- I'm not Native American, but I also doubt that any Native Americans were consulted in the creation of their "Yoki Ahorn" theme. It felt very reductive/stereotyped to me but again, I'm not an expert.
