The Spa and Pool area was great. The breakfast buffet/ selections were really good.

the lighting was not great, fairly dark in the rooms. the dinner was not great either unfortunately.

this hotel opened in 2014. our room looked very new - either it had been already refurbished or the quality of furniture and the care of the mostly elderly patrons of this hotel/spa is indeed extraordinary. beds were comfy and two sets of cushions were supplied. with free access to the Silbertherme - a mellow spa with warm indoor and outdoor pools also catering to mostly elderly people (but there are always a few kids and as a family you feel welcome, nevermind the occasional old grump) - a very short walk from the hotel across a roofed bridge, this was ultimately a very pleasant weekend and at the room-rate paid through booking.com a very good deal.

despite our generally very good experience and recommendation, there were a few thing I took issue with, considering the 4* rating and the aspirations of this place. - we had to walk repeatedly down to the reception again (after check-in, coming from the pool) because the key cards for the room did not work. a bit annoying - but then having suddenly other guests standing in our room, who had the same room number asigned to them (yes, same number printed into the little folder for the key cards) and apparently working key cards, is another level of mess-up. - for breakfast every room gets asigned a specific table. the hotel is fairly large. I found it rather less considerate to asign a table to a single adult with 2 smaller children (who's age was known at the time of booking) three rooms removed from the buffet. that table wasn't even prepared when we arrived half an hour after the start of breakfast. there was no chance to get another table even with the main room still fairly empty. the staff was also not able to provide a tray to carry a bit more than the small plates. I mentioned this at check-out when asked about our experience as something that could improve, but found the response - the system asigns the tables, we can do nothing here at the moment of check-in - also rather unsatisfactory and lazy.
