We have rented in Maine for over 15 years. This is a great property, beautiful and quiet lake frontage, nice big dock, and spacious house for 9 people. However, the property needs some love and updates. Surface clean but needs a deep clean. Pots and pans are old and cheap. Mixer is from the 70s.TV is old, no batteries in remotes. Dock has exposed nails and needs repair on the edges. Porch needs painting. 10 towels for 9 people. Master shower trickles-hard to get shampoo out of hair. We would rent again but other properties are better maintained.

It's truly a quiet get away with wonderful access to Rangeley Lake. Plenty of room for us all to spread out and enjoy ourselves.
This was our 3rd stay here at the Erickson, but our 1st 4th July.
Downtown is quaint and the firework show was terrific.
We will be booking another family get away soon.
Morton & Furbish couldn't be more helpful and welcoming, love all the step by step communication too.
Thank you!

Beautiful property. Nice apple tree off the driveway that deer like to visit in the fall. Beautiful views. Books and games in the den for families. No air conditioning. Cold get hot in the summer. Lots of house flies in the master bedroom. The toilet in the master bathroom does not flush unless you remove the top and pull the chain, a small fix. Overall a nice place to stay. The little extras make it easy to arrive and have a nice time. Bring a few camp chairs if you need extra outdoor seating.

The house was spacious for 8 of us, private spot on the lake with a large dock for swimming, kayaking and canoeing.

This property had four true (private access) bedrooms and one "corridor" bedroom. Yes, it will sleep 10 comfortably with a max of 12. There is a tub/shower in the primary bedroom (which is huge and has a sauna). There is a second bath with a shower only. The half-bath/laundry is on the main floor. It was reasonably clean and neat. No specific issues there. The hot water system was somewhat problematic - occasionally almost scalding hot, sometimes actually ran out during a shower. Also, the rear door (which is nearest to the staircase) could not be opened due to a large snowbank - something of a safety issue. Overall a fair value.

It was our last minute booking but everything went so smooth and had a great experience with our friends and family!!

The lake view was spectacular! The house was so clean, open and airy. Everything we needed was provided. The mattresses were all comfortable. So much room for 2 families. The kids had a blast fishing off the dock and enjoyed running around the yard. The breeze off the lake that came through the windows left everyone feeling so relaxed. The night sky was simply incredible! A perfect lake house!

Perfect Location and Vacation!
We loved the Erickson House. We loved the open living space and the bedrooms and bathrooms. The large dock was a favorite. We rented a boat and spent a lot of time on the lake. The only drawback was the number of stairs up the hill to the house. Other than that it was perfect.

Great location!
Loved the property! So much to do in the area and being right on the lake was awesome! Kids loved fishing every day right from the pier. Had fun taking hikes through the various trails in the area.

Peaceful; beautiful location
Right on the lake with plenty of room for a group. The sauna was relaxing as was the cozy TV room. The wood stove in the living room provided a welcoming warmth after being out in the cold.
Such a lovely stay. We hope to return again this year.
Thank you!

Erickson Cabin
We had a great long weekend at the Erickson Cabin. It was the perfect property for our Cousins get together. We had three different families, six kids, and a few other random cousins here and there. This is the perfect place for large groups, great parking and many different areas to spread out to.

Great Stay on Rangeley Lake
Our large group fit nicely. The house had games, puzzles, and books for our game loving group. The wood stove was a great plus but we were warm with our without it.

Sunshine, Splinters & Springs
Overall the property is beautiful. It was mostly comfortable for our family to stay at. I will say that the deck & dock needs to be a good sanding or face lift. We had lots of splinters. I suggest wearing shoes until that happens. The beds should be replaced at some point. Family members were saying that the springs were making an appearance. The water pressure and random temperature is the only other complaint. My mother in law almost fell when the water turned piping hot.
There was so much room for us so we were comfortable. It was a wonderful week and the weather was amazing. We made so many memories. Thank you for sharing the property with us.

Erickson
This is a nice, very private camp. Well situated near Oquossoc end of lake, convenient for boat rental from that marina. Especially comfortable den with TV service and nice sectional sofa, good library. Conveniently located first floor laundry. 5 bedrooms accommodates lots of family.

Lots of space, quiet spot on Rangeley Lake
We had two families stay at this property, each with two teenage kids. There was plenty of room for everyone. The location was private, peaceful and sunny, and just a 5 minute or so ride to downtown Rangeley. There was one metal canoe and one kayak for use, which was different than what was shown in the property photos, and it took us a while to locate (they were in the tall grasses behind the garage, and the paddles were in an inside closet on the first floor). We also brought our own boat which was easy to hook up at the dock or out on the mooring on windy nights. Note that getting to the dock requires a steep climb down (or back up) and the steps to get there need to be redone. Overall, we really enjoyed the space and there was more than enough room for the 8 of us!

Ice Out
We rented the camp for ice out again this year, and once again the ice went out the day before we moved in for the week. The camp is perfect for a group of 7 fisherman, and the wood stove is really nice when you come in from fishing and it's snowing. It actually snowed on May 14th. The covered porch overlooking the lake is perfect, even if you can't see the fantastic sunset when it rains for 7 days straight:-) No question we will be renting the same time next year.

Perfect Vacation Home
This house had the ideal, secluded waterfront location. Beautiful views from the house and a large dock for the entire family to hang out by the water. The house has a large, open family area and kitchen and was perfect for our family vacation with 10 people. It comes with one canoe and one kayak. It would be really nice to have a second kayak for a place that holds 10 people, or add a couple paddleboards. Overall, this was one of the best vacation homes I've rented over the years.

Spring Fishing
The camp was fantastic, with an incredible view from the covered porch on the front. Camp very spacious for a group of seven to hang out and relax no matter the weather. The ice went out late so we couldn't get the dock in for our boat, but that's what I get trying to time a trip with "ice out" in the dead of winter. I will say that if you have an elderly person (my father is 72 with a bad back) it can be a little tricky getting up and down from the dock. Morton & Furbish were great to work with, and will definitely be renting this camp next year....for "ice out" :-)

Ideal family vacation spot
I can't say enough good things about our week at this property! My family had a great time, which is no small feat, with more than half a dozen kids in a range of ages. We spent time in the canoe and kayak every day, and the house even came equipped with exactly the right amount of PFDs for us. The house was large and comfortable, nice and bright, and close enough to Rangeley and Oquossoc to enjoy the area without spending ages in the car, though it's definitely off the beaten path. We all fell in love with the town of Rangeley, particularly the Red Onion and the book store, Books, Lines, and Thinkers.
The folks at Morton & Furbish were really helpful and pleasant, and when we needed anything, they were right on the ball, even getting their handyman out to us promptly to adjust a stuck bath plug.
We all agreed that this was one of the best vacations we've had in a long time, and look forward to making our visit to Rangeley (in general), and this property (specifically) a regular event.
