This charming Manoir was one of the high points of our trip. The property is stunningly renovated with beautifully maintained grounds and a large lawn behind if children need to stretch their legs. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable, there is a lovely sitting room, beautiful terrace for breakfast with flowers everywhere. The owner and staff were also extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations for outings and dinners, also helping us with reservations.

Beautiful property; great location yet very private and quiet at the same time; fantastic breakfast with lovely outdoors seating; very kind service, we got upgraded to a huge room.

Staff is friendly and accommodating, beds are very confortable, and rooms are spacious. The location is perfect, between Bayeux and the D Day beaches. The manoir itself is beautiful, easy to find and parking is available on the site.

Excellent, clean and comfortable stay. The host are excellent, the owner and Céline are super helping. Location close to D day beach and both north and south Normandy.

Internet was painful. If you are like me do some work when on vacation it is bad. For routine stuff it is fine. The host had strategically installed a central router of 1000 Mb in middle of the hotel but he needs to place one router in each room.

Breakfast was great really good choice, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean.

Le Manoir de Mathan is in a great location in quiet village very close to the sea and surrounded by great things to see and places to eat. The owners and staff were wonderful and attentive to each of our requests. We slept well and had a fantastic and relaxing stay.

Lovely quiet property with substantial gardens and outside space. Our 3 Rooms were upgraded to suites and we stayed approx 300 meters down the road in an amazing Manor House and had the run of the whole property. Good quality breakfast with choice of eggs, cereal, crepes, toast, tea and coffee etc

the Staff was fabulous - everyone made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make sure we had a relaxing stay. we were given recommendations for restaurants and the breakfast in house was fantastic..! we can highly recommend!! we will be back..!

Hospitable and very friendly welcome, perfect breakfast with fresh and tasty products.

The hotel was beautiful. An old and tastefully restored Manor House - almost a castle! It is well equipped and well maintained, with beautiful gardens and surroundings. Everything was extremely clean and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Reception had lots of local information regarding sightseeing, etc. Isabelle, the proprietor, was really informative and helpful. Isabelle has great plans for developing the hotel; plans which will take time to come to fruition as she is adamant that every improvement is to the very highest standard. If you are thinking of staying in this area it would be well to phone Isabelle and discuss your needs directly as she has a variety of other holiday accommodation besides Le Manoir, although there is quite a variety in Le Manoir itself. There are ground floor rooms for people with mobility problems, but no lifts for higher floors. We would certainly choose to stay at Hotel Manoir de Mathan again.

It was perfect for our needs so, as far as we are concerned, there was nothing we didn't like.

Loved the beautiful setting and super friendly owners and staff. The location was so close to all the Normandy historical sites so we had easy access. The patio was lovely to have drinks in the evening and breakfast in morning. We loved our entire stay here (5 nights) and would highly recommend.

The rooms were furnished with beautiful antique pieces and artwork. The bathroom had some newer fixtures, like a shower, but the vanity had all the old world flair. The rooms were very spacious and there was a living room set up in the children's room. They had a beautiful fireplace with a decorated mantle. The heavy brocade drapery was not only very lovely to look at but kept the sunshine out when we wanted to sleep in. The room was so elegant, you forget you are in this century. The dining area for breakfast was nicely decorated as well. The attention to detail was amazing. The outdoor courtyard was so quaint and peaceful. They have beautiful roses all over and you can sit and enjoy the quiet, beautiful countryside. I loved that the toilet room was separate from the bathing room. It had a great toilet and toilet paper dispenser. In Europe, many of the toilets are not made very well, this one was great. Still no fan in the bathroom though so bring your Poo Pouri! That staff was so friendly and spoke English very well. They were very helpful and made dinner reservations for us. They were very kind and told us the history of the area. This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, in Europe! I seriously can't believe how spotless it was. We felt completely comfortable in our room and the dining area. The drive through the village was the most beautiful part of our trip and ending up in the room we had, made me feel like a princess in a fairy tale.

The reception area is a little chaotic and takes away some of the breathtaking entryway charm. The desk is a mess and truly, I think they need to clean it up a bit so you can take photos and show all your friends how lovely it is! The breakfast was a bit pricey for what you get. I would say they could charge a little less for that but they serve eggs with a slice of bacon and the fresh squeezed orange juice is divine. They have cheeses, and breads and fruits and yogurts. The rest of it is quite lovely and I would not change a thing!
