the restaurant had good food and service for dinner and breakfast.

the room in the Annex ( room 42) was tired, dark and needed a good clean. lots of dust on panelling and roof lights. Curtain hanging off. Filthy windows. Shower room needed attention.

Fantastic location, very charming, pretty, extremely clean. Emphasis on charming. The dining room (breakfast) is also really warm and atmospheric. The shower, while very small, had great water pressure.

No lift. Had to climb to the (American) 3rd floor, this was unpleasant. Bed was a double, not a queen, which was small for 2 modern adults. The shower was *really* tiny.

Beautiful room - seemed freshly decorated and we received an upgrade. Stunning views from top floor. Staff so friendly.

Room was so hot overnight - even with radiator turned down and windows open. Duvet very heavy. Breakfast was tasty but unfortunately only warm- not hot.

Breakfast impressed in that it was provided early and very efficiently. Also high quality food.

Had a lovely break. Good central location. Comfy bed and great shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great choice for breakfast. We ate in the outside area and the bar next door since we had the dog with us and the food and service were excellent.

Although the room was very comfortable it was dark and faced onto the back of the hotel and the kitchen extractor fan which was quite noisy. Thankfully it was turned off at night.

It is a lovely building. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Staff very nice.

Room VERY hot after our shower. Three flights of steep, winding stairs, difficult with overnight bags. Small, firm double bed with pillows like pebbles. Presume St Andrews is an expensive place to stay as £152 b+b seemed too much for that room.

Was in a good location, central to the main town. Rooms were clean.

Breakfast buffet was very limited for options. Tables were quite cramped together. Had an unpleasant interaction with staff at the end, as one was very rude about us missing check out due to being at a university tour, despite the fact that check out times were not stated to us at the beginning and we expected check out to be at 12 like every other normal hotel. Every other staff member however was lovely.

Booked 4 rooms - breakfast lovely, freshly cooked, lovely surroundings and well organised. Rooms in main hotel gorgeous, newly decorated, very warm and welcoming. Hotel is very central - would definitely stay again but not with elderly friends/relatives.

No lift - 2 couples were over 70, one of them over 80 and all 4 rooms were on the top floor - a struggle to get them up the many stairs, consequently they didn't come down again until breakfast when they brought their luggage with them so they didn't have to go back up. Annexe rooms could do with an upgrade as could the entrance to the Annexe - room rate was the same as main hotel.

Breakfast was brilliant lots of choices and staff were so pleasant. Location is perfect not far from beach or town centre.
