What an amazing location! Was an amazing treat to stay here while tramping the Abel Tasman. Friendly staff, good amenities and did I mention the location.

The rooms are getting a little tired, and the food was just okay.

Breakfast was really nice, good coffee included, great service. Nice spacious clean room and just across the road was the beach. We had a fabulous dinner as well.

The rain but can't blame the Lodge for that.

What an absolute delightful find! Ratanui Lodge is exceptional. A wonderful oasis in gorgeous Pohara Beach, Golden Bay. We live over the hill in Motueka and being able to jump in the car and 1.5 hours later, you're in paradise was just wonderful. Less time traveling and more time relaxing. We decided to head over to celebrate hubby's birthday. Due to the time of year (off season), the first night we had the whole lodge to ourselves, including amenities like the hot tub. The room was gorgeous with everything you could want for. All the right things in the right places... ladies, full length mirror near power points, large bathroom vanity mirror with excellent lighting. A large bathroom with shower over bath. Robes to wear and even gorgeous Sleep Mist to spritz over yourself before bed. The bed was super comfy. The hosts were beyond exceptional. A wonderful, professional, warming couple who look after our every need with aplomb. The food was exquisite (we had breakfasts both mornings, which are included in the room rate and we chose our dining time to suit us) and ate in the restaurant one night. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar (lots of great choices including local gins). We both had the prawn starter, which was delightful. I had the most perfectly cooked, medium rare beef fillet for main and hubby the panfried market fish, finished with warm orange cake with choc/orange icecream for dessert. We enjoyed a late check out on Sunday. The location is perfect, with the mind blowingly gorgeous Pohara beach just across the road, galleries, a gin distillery and just a few mins drive to Takaka township. A bit further afield to Pakawau, Puponga, Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit... all very accessible within an hour's drive. To say we had the most wonderful weekend away is an understatement. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at Ratanui Lodge and we have decided we'll be going back this time every year.

There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING we didn't like. The whole experience at Ratanui was exceptional! Sadly I couldn't upload my photos as my computer was playing up!

The staff were extremely helpful finding out what was open in the district over winter. Christine and Zahid are a delightful young couple who create an ambience of being made welcome and feeling relaxed. Dinner and breakfast were lovely.

Everything was amazing! We loved our stay here, the staff were so helpful in organising breakfast and a packed lunch as we did a day trip on one of the days we stayed here. Laundry service was great. Beautiful pool but unfortunately too cold to swim in at this time of the year. The staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to recommend activities. The rooms were spotless. One of our favourite locations to stay. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay special.
