The location was supposed to be wonderful...but ..

Hopefully we booked a room with a "view" on the mountain. Huge ferries parked on the hotel terrasse. You don't see the fjord anymore. Our room barely had a window and the restaurant was expensive for the quality of the food. Not so nice, we were a bit disapointed.

Perfect location, nice staff and breakfast.

The dinner prices (esp. the buffet option) is a bit overpriced in my opinion.

There was a good breakfast and we were able to buy a good evening meal in the restaurant. It is a fine, comfortable hotel, but our visit was a disappointment, as detailed elsewhere. I should love to come to beautiful Eidfjord again, but I cannot imagine it would be to this hotel.

I visited Eidfjord in March 2020, just before the pandemic struck in earnest, and I was looking forward to coming back in better times, this time with my sister. Sadly, the hotel itself was a disappointment. I had made it very clear, via Booking.Com messaging, that we were brother and sister and required twin beds. What greeted us was a premium room, with a splendid view of the fjord, but a single mattress on two beds. I think my messaging may have been misunderstood, but all that was required was for the one mattress to be replaced with two. Unbelievably to me, given that we were paying £140 per night, this did not appear to be possible. All that was offered us was a change of room, to one with a view only of the hotel front and car park! I suppose I cannot dispute the hotel's right to do this, but it seems like very bad customer relations. My sister valued the view more that her comfort, so we stayed in the room we were shown first and she put up with having no mattress.

Lovely views of the fjord. Staff were nice. Well located.

Terrible value for money - very old rooms that were looking very worn. Buffet attendant seemed unwell which was a bit off-putting post-COVID.

The location is fantastic. Breakfast buffet has lots of options. Large, clean, and comfortable room.

Wi-Fi is not very good, spotty at best (in our room at least).

Beautiful hotel with great view. The breakfast was the best we ever had, they had everything and even more.
