Everything about this condo is fantastic:
1. The host is incredibly responsive and accommodating.
2. The condo is clean, spacious, and well-maintained.
3. It has a private beach shared among just six condos, and it’s only a 2-minute walk away.
4. The view is perfect, especially from the second floor.
5. The condo comes equipped with beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach toys.
6. The location is excellent, with many restaurants and a grocery store within a 5-minute drive. There’s even a pizza place right across the road. It’s also very close to Orange Beach, where there’s plenty to do.
7. I’ve stayed in multi-story condos before, but I definitely prefer the cozy, homey feel of this one.

We had a wonderful stay at the Salty Dawg!! The location could not be beat, right on a beautiful beach, with easy access to lots of nearby restaurants and entertainment in Perdido Key and in Orange Beach. Communication with the owners was excellent - we received a welcome packet with detailed info far in advance (including info on viewing the Blue Angels, which we wouldn't have planned for otherwise as was a highlight of our trip!), as well as communication the day before arrival. The house itself was spotless and well decorated, kitchen was well equipped, and all the beach supplies and toys we needed. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and would love to come back and visit again. Thank you for the wonderful vacation!

The location of this rental couldn't be better. Situated right on the beach, it offered unparalleled private access to a private beach with pristine sands and emerald waters of Perdido Key.
Upon entering the house, we were immediately impressed by how well-stocked and meticulously clean it was. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring that guests have everything they need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From kitchen essentials to beach gear, we lacked nothing during our time here.
The layout of the house was perfect for our family, providing ample space for relaxation and recreation. We particularly enjoyed the open-concept living area, where we could gather for meals, games, or simply to unwind after a day of beach activities. The bedrooms were cozy and inviting.
Communication with the property owner was seamless, and they were incredibly responsive to any questions we had.
We found our permanent rental for Gulf vacations! With its unbeatable location, well-stocked amenities, and pristine condition, it exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beachfront getaway in this beautiful area.

Beautiful townhome in great location! Loved our stay. Short walk to the beach. My only suggestion would be to provide a keypad entry for the back door. Locking up and walking around the front of the complex was a small inconvenience. Also, for reference- my Yukon did not fit in the garage. Beach is private but the complex next door is very full and close and they spill over into this private area. Overall we loved the Salty Dog and the owner was great. Would def recommend and stay again.

I have been looking for the best beach home for my family for almost ten years and we finally found our "forever" beach home! The family members who love to soak up the sun are blessed by the short walk right to the private beach. We were able to go back and forth to go to the bathroom, eat lunch, and put the baby to bed for nap. For the non beach members of the family, they enjoyed relaxing on the squishy couches with the porch door open and reading books. The kitchen is well stocked, there is plenty of space, beds are cozy, and the location cannot be beat!

Loved the screened in area to store beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. without packing upstairs daily and limiting sand in townhouse. Nice supply of beach supplies available for use that came in handy when one of our personal beach chairs broke! Private beach area allowed us to have a front row setup without getting up super early. The pay it forward concept allowed us to checkin 2 hours early! We would definitely book again! Thank you!!

We loved that the building was smaller. More of a townhouse. There were other tenants but we weren't always on the beach at the same time so we felt like we had our section of beach to ourselves. The unit was clean, stocked, and very pretty. We have no complaints and would highly recommend this place

We loved the condo! Overall the condo was one of the nicest we have stayed at. No complaints of the unit or the owner. The owner was quick to text back to any questions I had. The unit was. 5 star. If I had any recommendations it would only be on the walk to the beach. It would be nice if there was a wooden walkway out to where the beach starts. Overall the condo itself was. 5 star!!!

Great place for family time on the beach
Our stay was excellent all around. My family (6 kids, ages 1-12) found everything very clean and we had room for everyone. We cooked our meals in the well-stocked kitchen, we were able to do laundry as needed, and the living spaces were big enough for our family to gather. The master bedroom was big enough for our little one to be in a pack and play in the room with us while my bigger kids shared the other two bedrooms. The beach is a short walk - even our one year old could walk along the trail to the beach. It was great to have a dedicated spot on the beach for us to set up especially as we watched the spaces to both sides of us fill up very early and end up very crowded.
The one thing to note is that baby gear needs to be rented - Brent gave us the name of a rental service who was also excellent. (BabyQuip!) There are two sets of stairs (one up and one down) that for a one year old we had to gate off, but it worked for us.
Brent was super responsive and easy to get in touch with throughout our trip for anything we might need. All said, this was a great rental for us and we hope to be back.

Slice of paradise
We absolutely loved staying at the Salty Dawg. Wish we could have stayed longer. The property is very comfortable and the views are incredible! Just steps to the gorgeous private beach with chairs and umbrellas provided by the owner. A very friendly heron stopped by to say hello both days. I would go back if I ever get the chance.

Clean Condo w/private beach access
Property was exactly as listed. We had two families with 8 people total (4 adults & 4 teenagers) and it was a perfect size. Everyone had a bed. Main living area was a little cramped in the evenings but it has a great bonus room in lower level. It had all the things to cook a fresh seafood meal. We especially loved the private beach access! We had a wonderful stay. Owner was just a text message away & super quick to respond.

Fantastic private townhouse
We stayed at The Salty Dawg with our 10 and 5 year old. The kids loved the bunk beds and enjoyed their time on the beach with the toys and boards provided with the rental. It was nice to have a garage to park in, but we found it a little tight for our Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was a small inconvenience to manually open and close the door each time so we didn't use it much. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of cookware for us to prepare a few meals during our stay and we were able to wash all of our laundry before heading home. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and the closets had extra clean bedding if needed. We will definitely stay at The Salty Dawg again in the future.

The view is amazing!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Salty Dawg! The townhouse is very nice and the view is awesome! There were a couple minor maintenance things we noticed, but Brent was very quick to respond and willing to take care of it right away. My family loved our stay and can't wait to come back again!

The master bedroom with private bath is on 2nd level, street side. The 3rd floor (blue room) is the best room with a deck and a view, it shares a bathroom with the bunk bed room. Lower level screened in porch has no view, the hammock area is directly under 2 large AC units. There is a comfortable pull out couch in the living room.
Kitchen has cookware necessities. You should purchase; salt, pepper, trash bags, decent toilet paper, hand soap, etc.

Very Nice Townhome - Great Location on the Beach
This townhome was great and in great condition with the location directly on the beach and the layout of the rooms / beds. The umbrella and chairs provided were in good condition and, while we did not use them, there was a large variety of beach toys for younger kids. The area of the beach is not too busy and allowed us to always get a great spot by the water to enjoy our day. Lots of shower towels was helpful as well as extra blankets. We highly recommend this unit :)

Relaxing break @ the Salt Dawg
The goal was to relax, and we did. Although the beach is one of the best in the US, personally I would not stay at this condo again only because it wasn’t the right fit for my family. I learned more about what we need so hope to make a better choice next time. This was our first trip to the beach with an 11 month old baby. I’m Grama. Salty Dawg delivers everything it promises, for the most part. It just wasn’t for us. The hike up hill in the sand to the beach, albeit short, was still a challenge in the heat with all the beach gear. I bought the Hammock but the area to hang it doesn’t get any wind so really too hot to enjoy in the summer months, with very limited view due to the sand dunes/vegetation. Very large snake directly in front of the condo by the beach eliminated the hammock idea for me anyway. Two full sets of stairs with the baby was also a challenge. One of the steps broke a couple days into our stay so that was a pain. Could have called for repairs but, frankly, just decided to work around it. The doors to the laundry came off the track on Day one. Never could get that working right but really not a big deal either. The washer is “very” small. Two large beach towels barely fit and didn’t rinse all the way so had to ring them out and hang to dry. Dryer is a “smart” dryer so way smarter than me. That means it stops running when it thinks the load is dry. It would not dry our babies lovey, which as you parents know is a MUST HAVE. I ended up using the blow dryer to dry it every day. The TV puts out a lot of heat so the living room area is always much warmer than the rest of the house. It’s very cold upstairs so we had to shut some of the vents for the baby’s room and adjust the ecobee multiple times a day - it’s smart too…. Bottom line is just that it wasn’t a good fit for us with a small baby.
