Friendly staff.

Stains on the walls, broken glass shelf, no plug for the bathtub, swollen damaged furniture, "do it yourself" fridge - you have to move the desk to plug in the fridge. Dust in many places.

All was good but I did not like the idea of paying extra for the parking place, especially when the hotel already has a garage.

Hotel is easy to reach by car in Coimbra. Staff was very helpful. Hotel has parking on premisses, so it was very easy to check in and be ready to discover the city.

At first our rooms were a little bit far away (we have 3 kids and asked to have 2 rooms nearby). As I was parking the car, my wife requested a room closer to each other and they offered us a new one... It was a room that was not so new, but it was ok. Or, at least so we thought. Later that night when trying to turn the heat on, we discovered that it wouldn't turn on on both rooms... After talking to reception desk they reset the system and solved one room's problem. The other was a no go. So, we had to change to another room again in order to have a working AC... fortunately it ended up working alright!

Very affordable hotel that is walking distance from everywhere. Friendly and accommodating staff that provided us with a new room when the first one was unsatisfactory. Good for a one night stay.

The first room we had smelled horribly of cigarettes. Luckily we were given a new room. The rooms are basic but a bit run down. The hotel is more of a three stars rather than four.

The style of the hotel is very very nice and also the staff which helped me finding a solution for the airport by night. The position is good, at the river level, this is important when you carry a bag by walking because Coimbra is a city on the stairs! The room is nice, very big with a comfortable bed. If you come from Lisbon and you have a flight early in the morning (even at 9.30) you have to take the Coimbra door to door shuttle, it's a bit expensive but it comes to pick you up wherever you want and with 2 hours you reach the airport, otherwise there is a train at 3 am, the next at 6 am and so on, so organize your trip to Coimbra in advance.

The first day for a technical problem there was no hot water until 7 pm and it wasn't notified by message. There is a double window, you can open only the first glass but not the second, so you can't change air. Unfortunately you can hear everything from the other rooms, beside and upstairs (the last night maybe I had kids upstairs), voices and noise (if the people are noisy, but the first 2 days there was nobody around). The area seems safe even if to reach the center by feet there are some alleys with strange people around, but not close to the hotel. The room was clean but not cleaned very well in the following days (the toilet especially).

Location is great. It is in the city centre. Beds are big and comfortable. The housekeeping staffs tidy the rooms everyday and change sheets. All the staffs are nice and helpful.

Breakfast is poor. No eggs, no tomatoes, no cucumbers and no olives.
