Stunning country farmhouse steeped in character. Reminded us of the film the holiday! Loved the open fire and logs were provided which was just magical! Surrounded by ancient woodland and wildlife away from the daily stress of life! Kitchen was well stocked and surprisingly warm for such an old property. Just magical - the perfect Christmas cottage!!
Just the ghosts at night - to be honest it added to the fun! The road down to the cottage was a little challenging but fine once we navigated the road.

We have booked for a week with my family and it was great! Location is excellent, Cottage lay's in a valley surrounded with amazing forest with his animals like foxes, badgers, deers, snakes, squirrels ect..Only the way to de cottage can be tricky for the first time, so caution! Cottage is well equipment, all comfort what you need for a vacation. Children can play around, there's a water stream, pingpong table and others toys to play with. There's a ton of walk routes around the Cottage that we walked, kids loved it, also the camp fire's we made.
We had a very good time here, we like the silents of the forest and the birdsongs in de morning. First day we had a very warm welcome from the neighbour Neil and his lovely dog Hetty with 3 pots of delicious honey from his own bee's. This is the place for 'peace and quiet' what we say in the Netherlands, we come back for sure! Thanks for everything!
Nothing, even that phone no have reception..

location, in the country surrounded by wild life.
beds were comfy and we all slept well.
just a single toilet which had broken before we arrived. with the remote location and potential number of guests it should really have 2 separate toilets.

Mostly the location.
Lots of cobwebs and spiders inside. Also there was a marathon walk that passed the drive way all day so we had to keep our puppy in. We chose this property so our puppy would be safe outside on his own.

The cottage dates back to 1620 in parts and still retains many early features but what updating has been done has been sympathetic and ‘right’.. it’s been a family and holiday home for 50 years and that is evident in some of the artwork, photo albums and wellies by the back door. There are some touching details, the obituary to a previous owner in family album who entertained Laurie Lee (Cider with Rosie etc), the wording on a wooden bench.. would love to have enjoyed garden in summer, lovely and clearly still looked after. Badgers, foxes, deer and owls much in evidence if you’re quiet and patient. The Wysis Way footpath right behind cottage is worth a wander if you’re into ‘forest bathing’. WiFi is useful as is landline phone (no Vodafone signal to speak of). It’s a place you can really escape and relax, regret we were only there for 2 nights (visiting family performing with Giffords Circus nearby).
Postcode does take you there but be prepared for rather steep and tight turn on last stretch. Once done a few times it’s easy enough. The rutted section could be easily sorted out, underside of my XF took a bit of a pounding, anything with greater ground clearance would be no problem. Otherwise it’s a lovely atmospheric location. Local taxi firm Wonky Wheels were excellent and happy to negotiate bends!

Little gem! hidden at the far end of a valley - be ready for a tough track though, but once there it's paradise! Birds badgers and deers share the garden, the house is beautiful; many lovely walks around. Really really enjoyed our stay

The peace and tranquility of the setting. Such wonderful surroundings with wildlife. Loved the character of the cottage and the fireplace was amazing!
Some of the facilities were a bit dated and another toilet somewhere in the house would have been appreciated.
