I love the location of this property. The views are breathtaking. The grounds were like a magic fairy land. Hidden pathways, bat cave, stone circles etc. absolutely lovely! The hostel is very basic but I have low expectations. The staff were so lovely and helpful. Please ask them any question about the area, they’re very knowledgeable.

There was very limited parking, the phone signal was non existent and the Wi-Fi was TERRIBLE. In the front porch to the right where the wood logs are is the best spot for Wi-Fi. Awful otherwise. If you walk down to the pub five minutes away, The Woolpack Inn. They have great Wi-Fi and always a nice atmosphere with hikers and everyone’s really friendly! Also, being a youth hostel… I thought there was an age limit but no. I was one of the youngest there. 60+ so it wasn’t the environment I was hoping for. All quiet by 8pm. Bit of a disappointment. Should of had it capped at 35/40. Even had a woman yell at me in the shared rooms that I had my bed light on past 10:30…. Definitely should have the option of mixed rooms as the men’s room wouldn’t be uptight like this.

The room unfortunately had someone ill in it who coughing & using mobile for hours when people were trying to sleep. There should be a person to call 24hrs when there's guest problems.

Great location, and the lady behind the desk Kirsten went above and beyond for me and my brother. We accidentally left our glasses at the property and she sent them back to our address. And she was such a delight. 10/10 customer service.

wifi not work and no phone reception. noisy at night and early morning - room above main dining area and close to main staircase doors banging all the time ( request a room away from main staircase and not above dining area)

Fantastic and beautiful location with great views of hills all around. Drying room was much appreciated after a soaking in the hills! You can enjoy the lounge and other public facilities before or after check-in/check-out. The restaurant and bar (dinner and breakfast only) menu looked good although I only used the bar. Lots of fridge space and everything you could want in the kitchen. Beds were comfy and showers were good. I don’t know how they can provide so many facilities for such a good price.

wifi and mobile signal were both poor but I guess that’s what you get for being in a very remote location. The cooked breakfast smelled too good when we had brought our own food!

Staff are fantastic. Made us feel so welcome. Enjoyed the breakfast. Very clean shower room.
