The pools were lovely, and the cottages are very spacious and clean. The bar plays live music on a few evenings which is brilliant.

The restaurant only offer meals for 2 people and solo travellers wanting to only order a portion for 1 have to pay 60% of the value of the dish. I thought this was appalling - I complained to management and they offered me a discount, but I would flag this as a warning. I was also overall disappointed with the quality of food in the restaurant for such a high-end resort. With the exception of a couple, the staff overall were both rude and inattentive, which was a real shame. The resort is also a bit out of the centre and there aren’t many taxis in town, so going out in the evening is not easy. Overall, I thought this place was incredibly over priced for what it offered, and I was very disappointed in how I was treated as a solo traveller.

Great facilities, outstanding bed! Friendly staff, everything quite organized. The hammock in the room is a nice touch :)

The aircon kept leaking into the wall i.e. mold alert. The food is ok, but not more than that. It's quite far from the city center!

Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room/area

The location is excellent. The pretty resort sits on the lovely Preguiças river and is very near the Lençois Maranhenses park. Go out on the river on a kayak for a very tranquil experience. The river is wide and very slow moving, hence its name, referring to the ones plentiful sloths. Rooms are big. The facilities - swimming pools etc are decent. Good breakfasts. Excellent Caipirinhas! Very good excursion organizers on site. Rooms are a good size, with a hammock supplied outside for a pleasant siesta. WiFi in the public areas is OK.

No WiFi in rooms. The food is disappointingly mediocre and, as such, not good value for money. You pay separately for all your meals, as there is no full or half-board option. Two examples. In an area famous for its seafood, crab legs were completely tasteless - over-cooked from frozen. "Picanha" a special Brazilian cut of beef, which should be succulent, tasty and super tender, was as tough as Charlie Chaplin's boot. If it really was a genuine picanha cut, which I doubt, then the poor animal must have been a very old, overworked ox. It was a rare occasion on which I have sent food back to the kitchen. Overall, service is friendly but inexperienced and a bit haphazard. Again, two examples. It was only on the 3rd day, after much insistence, that they fixed our room safe. We needed a doctor during our stay and they said they didn't know any or have any contracts and told us to go the local hospital, which was an interesting experience. The rooms don't have (glass) windows, only shutters with no netting in the main room, so are very dark, unless you want to share your space with insects.

The breakfast was ok. The location is great. The staff is friendly. The restaurant: the dish Plancha, Moqueca Capixaba e Cabrito no leite de coco were delicious!

The pillows must be upgraded. There was NO WI-FI!!!!!

Large resort just a few minutes from the centre. Rooms are large and clean. Excellent staff on reception.

Rooms a bit old fashioned. Had to ask for towels to be provided daily.
