3.5
location
room size and cleanliness
the breakfast service was ridiculously slow
We waited for one hour and had to catch the cruise so needed to take our food in a takeaway box. we did tell the staff but that had no impact
4.5
Friendly staff
I booked two cabins but I got 2 away from each other
4.0
Lake St Clair is a great location to experience some beautiful scenery and walks. The cabins are very comfortable and cosy. Its very handy having a good restaurant close at hand.
The included breakfast was a bit limited. Given the cost of staying, a full breakfast should be included.
3.5
The room was spacious and clean
Dinner and breakfast were low standard - dinner was pizza, burgers, stew with mashed potato - far from "world class cuisine"
The room was servicable - certainly not "the utmost in comfort" - there was a thin little rug on the timber floor, the king-size bed was let down by a basic mattress, there was no lighting outside on the slippery walkway, no wine glasses in the room, no towel rail in the bathroom ... everything was minimal and skimpy.

Meals were great. Location was spectacular. Friendly staff provided useful information.
Our stay was for only 1 night so not enough time to explore the surroundings.

Beautiful location
Very damp, rained a lot, extremely cold
5.0
best location
Loft room unprotected openings to downstairs , quite dangerous for kids

If you need a simple place to rest for the night with your family between Strahan and Hobart, this fits the bill.
Check in and meals took a while due to understaffing, which is understandable since this place is in the middle of nowhere between Strahan and Hobart. No wifi (though that could also be a plus!). Tired decor. The carpenting in the main room had loads of stains on it, but the beds and towels seemed clean. Very high price for the overall level of service and food quality.

Breakfast was ok, but was too late. Could not eat until 8am.
Tv in room too small. Room was sparse, needed pictures or something on wall.
2.5
location
the fridge was quite possibly the noisiest fridge ever. no one would ever be able to sleep with it in location
3.5
Gorgeous location; very comfortable cabin and bed with a bit of a lakeside view.
Cafe and restaurant were a bit let down by some staff who were less than friendly.
3.0
location and ease of access to walks
the food. menu was terrible and food was not good
4.0
Wilderness suite had everything we needed.
There are plenty of walks to suit everyone.
The evening meal was amazing 👏
Very friendly barman.
Walks were signed very well.
No Vegemite or fresh eggs for breakfast.
$45 for 15 min ferry ride to get to our walk was excessive.

Facilities were good. Breakfast much appreciated.
There was a long wait for check in - not staff fault - and the original room was not as booked but this was soon rectified. Obviously a shortage of staff (as everywhere else)
3.5
In the middle of nature.
Could do with a fresh up, although it looks like there are plenty of new cabins.

*The location is brilliant. Being able to wander down to the lake from our cabin was wonderful. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean.
*Although we were a bit nervous after reading the Google reviews before arriving, we had a lovely time. It is expensive and the food isn't great, but it was worth it to stay in such a spectacular place.
*Close to the Hungry Wombat cafe, great for lunch, and also the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel where we had dinner.
*The kitchenette had no supplies to be able to organise your own food. You can make a cuppa, and that's it.
*It was great to have a fridge, but it was very noisy.
*The breakfast was very disappointing, although we were prepared after reading other reviews. We would have preferred to be able to just make some toast in the cabin if there was a toaster. We arrived at 8.10am for the 8-9am breakfast time slot we'd booked. You can choose between 7, 8 or 9am. There were no scrambled eggs ready, and it took about 15 minutes to bring more out. There was toast, cereal, bacon, baked beans, potato wedges, and sausages.

the location is amazing and I guess you pay a premium for that - it was comfortable and clean and warm which after a long hike it what was needed
I was annoyed the bar closed so early as we wanted a drink and some bar food

Location is amazing. Peaceful and easy access to lake, surrounds and walks. Helpful staff. Cabins were so cosy and good amenities. clean, pleasantly surprised with the AVEDA products

Scenic setting
Very overpriced. Were never advised that one needed a Park Pass, which was an additional coat.

Absolutely beautiful cabins overlooking lake, heated when we walked in. Walking tracks with maps around the lodge easily guided with map and points of interest. Main Lodge also wonderful, staff so helpful, lovely meals and drinks. Plus it snowed while there in November …. great experience
