Loved it! Breakfast was the perfect combination of comfort and taste. Their milk tea is wonderful and not too sweet for the foreigners who visit.

Not much. The hostel managers work hard to provide entertaining activities and community both inside and outside of the hostel, which I participated in during my free time.

for some people might not, but for me the noise of pigeon house next to the room was bit annoying in the evening. but the rest are fantastic.

The hostel is also the perfect place for a little couples retreat in Kathmandu. The area is peaceful and the restaurant is amazing. The room and staff were both beyond expectations!

Wish we could’ve stayed longer!!

We stayed here in the penthouse for a few nights before a yoga retreat and loved it so much we came back afterwards and stayed in the mixed dorm. The staff couldn't do enough for you, they were so helpful with everything, booking taxis, ordering take, tips for things to do, places to eat out etc. Emi even brought me shopping and found the exact shoes I wanted. There was such a nice, friendly, welcoming atmosphere here, you could just sit and hang out playing boardgames with whoever is around. The walking tour was so much fun and a great way to meet the other guests. They made us vegan pancakes on request. The rooftop space is really nice. The penthouse is very comfortable and spacious. Exactly like it looks in the pictures. The area is a nice and quiet residential area with plenty cafes and nice restaurants in walking distance

The water pressure in the sinks could be stronger.. But that's easy to get over! A little more expensive then other hostels in Thamel but so worth it if you are looking for a quieter more peaceful and personal stay.

Hostel Nextdoor is bang on! Great location in Patan area; quiet but easily accessible to all attractions and dining options. The front desk crew is quiet attentive and fun to talk to. Went on a group walking tour to old town; amazing that such ancient traditions are still lived by people these days. Breakfast options are regular - pancakes, English set, muesli yogurt - and the local lunch/dinner set is delicious; feels homemade. The restaurant in the property is one of the best in Kathmandu with delicious traditional Nepali meals that feels like culinary adventure.

The hostel is pretty sorted out. I was sad to miss out on other group events by the hostel. I was not expecting a travel agent/desk at the hostel, but they have a partner company that is available 24/7 on whatsapp to book cars, flights, or plan trips; they even came to the hostel to discuss options for a city day tour. Good stuff organizing that!

Lovely people! A nice community space to hang out and meet people. Here you will meet your second family! Mother Emi will take care of you. Daddy Sulav helps you with your advantageous plans, especially with hiking he knows the best places! And brother Sandip will show your the around the neighborhood. And of course Fongghy, the housecat, is always there sleeping at the couch.

I always stay here when I need to go to Kathmandu-it is a fantastic hostel with the nicest dorms I've ever stayed in. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are lovely and its in a great, quiet location in Patan with easy access to all the busier areas of Kathmandu. Cannot recommend enough, I tell everyone coming to Kathmandu they should stay in this hostel.

A very personal and well put together place. it was nice to stay away from the main tourist hotspots and feel a bit closer to the real Kathmandu. The staff are all characters and very sweet, Sulav and the cat lady being highlights for me.

Everything was great. Lively but quiet hostel, run by some amazing people. Clean and tidy, amazing home cooked food. A special shoutout to Emi and Jenish. I can't wait to be back in July. :)

Clean, modern hostel with lovely staff that are super kind and helpful. And most importantly: the most comfortable mattresses you will find when backpacking Nepal or India! If youre looking for a good, welcoming hostel and need a break from thin mattresses on wooden boards, this is your best choice.

It may not be in the city center, but for that the area is quiet, you are close to some nice restaurants and cafes in Lalitpur, and with a pathao or indrive you are in the city or Patan very quickly.

Hostel Nextdoor is like home away from home. The team is like a family, very positive, friendly and doing their utmost to make sure the stay is pleasant. They are always easily available, organise activities (ie. walking tour, bonfire and movie nights) and make sure you feel comfortable and at ease. The food is good and fresh, and the Fungi the cat is the cutest. The hostel is in a quiet neighborhood outside Kathmandu. The center of Kathmandu/Thamel is easily reachable by taxi, motorcycle or public transportation. It is also very short walking distance to Patan’s Durban square, the historic center of Patan, which is a UNESCO site. Thanks to the whole team, Emi, Sulav and Sandip!

Hands down the best place to stay in Kathmandu/Patan. This wasn't like any hostel I have ever stayed at before. The dorm rooms are gorgeous, and they've thought of every single detail. Nice luxurious mattresses and sheets, curtains for privacy, lockers, charging point and reading lights with every bed. But that wasn't even the best part.. The team are friendly and always ready to help. They gave great tips on local sites.. The common areas are SO CHARMING!!! Art everywhere! Lots of green, plants. Everything is painted in this beautiful dreamy blue... If you think the pictures are good, its even better in person. Had the best evening playing board games and drinking the local Nepali beer, sharing travel stories with fellow travelers and the lovely team. Next time I'll be staying for much longer. Thank you so much for your hospitality. 10/10 for location, cleanliness and awesomeness :)

This hostel is unlike any other hostel in Nepal! It is cutesy, artsy, and true a delight to stay at. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood, with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in its vicinity. The staff will provide you with plenty of information and opportunities to get to know Nepal on a deeper level. The hostel staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and will keep you up-to-date with local events and festivals. The rooms are clean, the showers hot, the food cheap and delicious, and it’s a short walk from Patan square. It’s the perfect place to connect and meet people from all across the world.

Centre location, environment, security, staffs service, cleanliness, big room space with 8 beds dom are perfect under that price.. Highly recommend!!!

A really great hostel to stay in! The staff is most hospitable and helpful! It is located in a quiet and nice neighborhood. It was the cleanest hostel I've encountered in Nepal. I can also recommend their restaurant that prepares traditional dishes that are not easy to find.

My stay at hostel nextdoor catered to my need to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Neatly situated in Patan, this place is a go to for travellers who are looking to connect with a group of passionate young and like minded people. The staff are very supportive and always willing to facilitate your needs. The restaurant beside the hostel is a perfect place to get a taste of Nepal if you are looking to have a sumptuous Nepali ethnic meal when in Nepal. The community of people around this space is really vibrant and energetic. I would definitely make another visit to the place.

Love hostel next door- a lovely welcoming relaxed hostel and some of the best dorm facilities I've ever stayed in. My go to place to stay when I'm in kathmandu/ patan- feels like a home from home.

I thought the 4 in a dorm room will have separate bath and wash room. Did not expect that 12 ( both 8 in one and 4 in one) will be sharing the same wash area
