the room was very clean. the sea view was amazing . breakfast serves was great and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. the location is fantastic, short walk to the beaches and town centre. highly recommended stay at this hotel.
there was no bar. the stairway to the rooms could do with a uplift, new doors or a paint job.
it has been taken over by new owners. so in the future it may get an uplift.

Caroline, on reception, was wonderful and very helpful, we unexpectedly turned up with 2 puppies (Teddy and Bear), which Caroline loved, but that wasn't a problem for them. They were very accommodating, even with my mums mobility scooter, which could be left and charged near reception
All the other members of staff were very helpful and friendly too
Yes, some things need updating (crack in the bath panel, shower, not much power)
But those are little things that didn't matter to us. The room had everything we needed just to rest our heads

The hotel was quiet. It had tea, coffee, kettle, TV, shower, and bath accessories. The beds were comfortable, and there were two pillows on each bed, which were different "thickness." Those who like flat pillows could have that option, and those who like them fatter could have that option (definitely a plus when traveling with picky children).
Breakfast was superb. You could have a full English breakfast, yogurt, toast, or cereal. Or if you're like me, a bit of everything.
The location is excellent. Right across from the beach, close to the zoo, mini golf, station, and the centre of town with pubs, shops, arcades, etc.
Finally, the staff were great. The lady at the reception was very friendly. She always asked how our day was and helped with any questions and requests. The ladies at breakfast were also very attentive and friendly.
Although our triple room was great, my dad was in a single room where the heater didn't work. He probably could get it fixed if he asked, hut he didn't bother.
Also, it would be nice to have a bar or something downstairs. There is one, but it wasn't working because there wasn't a license yet. It's not a huge problem because there are pubs across the road, but it still would be nice to know in advance.

Got a sea view and it was the best….breakfast 4/5
It was cold and the heater in my room was not working as

The staff, the view/location.
There are two ladies that work on reception, I want to say their names are Caroline and Maria (I’m so sorry if I’ve got them wrong) but they went above and beyond! Really above and beyond. The booking was to celebrate my partners birthday and they assisted me with contacting a local balloon provider who brought balloons to the property and set them up in the room, we were upgraded to a sea view room and every time we walked in and out the hotel doors we were greeted as if it was the first time every single time. I can’t praise the staff enough! There was a lady who worked in the restaurant and they were so welcoming the following morning for breakfast and wished my partner a Happy Birthday and had a little chat with us. It’s such a friendly environment and if we ever come back to Newquay we would stay here again without a doubt.
The ONLY thing that let the property down was the cleaning. It’s not the cleanest of places. It does require that more attention to detail and it would really help the rating. However; it’s not enough to put you off a decent nights sleep. We were only staying the 2nights but I would have expected more. Admittedly we didn’t make the bed the first morning we woke up BUT the domestic staff didn’t do it either, the pillows were throw at the headboard and the duvet was just thrown over the top, wasn’t remade like you would expect a bed to be made in a hospitality environment (but this may not be something they do in that hotel) but it would have been nice for the cobwebs to be hoovered away and again, just those tiny touches would make a whole lot of difference. Nevertheless, apart from the room, the hotel is crystal clean!
Oh & the bathrooms are very small - but it’s adequate to do what you have to do in a bathroom.

Central
The smell of drains. Especially when you’re having breakfast. The smell was intermittent, but not nice. Which was probably as a result of a sink in the lobby area not having an anti vac trap.
It’s a common problem. But very off putting.

Didn’t have meals
Bedroom window dirty
Seagull and chicks on balcony noisy.

The staff were Amazing friendly and polite loved them
Looks a little tired

Great staff, value for money, close to town, beaches and views, the evening in house entertainment was awesome,
The cost for the basic room was higher than other similar rooms we had stayed during this trip
3.2
The view was incredible. I wasn’t expecting a sea view so was pleasantly surprised when we got to the room. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. There is someone at reception 24 hours a day which is brilliant.
The hotel rooms were a bit dated but at the price you really can’t complain. Especially with the view. There was minimal parking and every space was reserved so we ended up paying to use the Premier Inn one.

The location and the staff were absolutely brilliant. You’re right in front of the sea and tolcarne beach and within walking distance of Newquay town centre. The staff were all so friendly and really made the stay offering recommendations and made the effort to make conversation.

The staff were extremely helpful, I was quite ill and my Nan had plenty of support from both the porter and the receptionist whilst I was taken to hospital in an ambulance. They offered her a meal and went above and beyond the call of duty. Incredible service. Will be visiting again!!

Very clean, good sized room
Parking space was a problem

My mum stay in the hotel the room was very dull she had to wait for the room to be cleaned, the cleaning could be better perhaps it was rushed, I emailed beforehand to check on stairs but still mum had too steps up to her room luckily I was their to help her.
Window over looked a wall
3.2
Polite staff, amazing view and great value. The location was great too, 2 minute walk from the train station and about another 5 from most of the restaurants and bars.
A few large marks on the wall in the room let it down a tiny bit. But nothing major. The lay out might make it more difficult for an older guest.

Very good breakfast excellent location very nice room
Shower cubicle to small

Great location. Rooms were very basic and quite run down but fine for 1 night. Staff were friendly and offered a decent enough breakfast.
More space in the rooms. Shower and bathroom felt very out dated. Noisy corridors.
3.2
it’s very old. uneven floor boards, you can hear people walking around in their rooms, the breakfast though was really lovely
extremely dated and needs so much work however for the price it’s fair and clean
3.2
Parking was good, staff were pleasant
The overall hotel was in need of TLC and DIY, bath panel hanging off, shower was unusable, toilets dirty, breakfast limited choice,

the decor downstairs is modern and inviting, quite the opposite to the rooms upstairs! the reception staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating, knowledgeable and informative.
the location is great.
the room was very clean
the rooms are old and tired, the mates sounds and feels awful as you sit on it but actually not too bad to sleep on, bedding is nice, no mattress protector which was a bit naf.
breakfast in the morning was a farce, we came down close to closing so we fully expected there to be a limited choice which was fine but the staff were all quite rude blanking us and leaving us to try to figure out where to go and what to do, we were rudely told we couldn't sit in the main bit as it was closed for breakfast now but pointed to some remains of food at a side board and said the food is there but you have to go sit up there so we did as we were asked and went down to get coffee (no juice left only a dribble of water and no dirty jugs cleared away) and toast then went up to the top to sit and saw the hot food area, so we popped over to find that it was all empty, we thought ok fine our faint for coming in 15 min before closing, but then when we asked what we could do they said they had moved all the food down to the bottom section, the bit they told us not to sit in! so we went down there to find no eggs, the sausage and bacon were like dog food, no one acknowledged us or cleared any tables despite there being 3 staff, preferring to talk about their party night in a club 🤷🏼♀️ disappointed, I know we paid a high tariff as it was boardmasters weekend but the place really isn't lie for money whatsoever.
reception staff both wonderful though.
3.2
Nothing other than the location above the beach
No parking, tiny lift, awful room, filthy window, dirty carpet, broken furniture, substandard breakfast

staff were fab!
dirty
3.2
Friendly staff and had sea views room.
The place was dirty and very old. Bed was uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend. It's cheap but not worth it.
3.2
Service and staff very good, receptionists excellent
Gluten free breakfast cereals would have been nice , The tray the glasses were on were not that clean
3.2
Very good location. Beautiful view across Tolcarne.
The member of staff who checked me in was very polite and lovely.
Easy check in and check out. no fuss. Which I like
Only a few minor things:
The room door (201) had some weird white plastic over the original door knob and key slot which meant it doesn’t create a seal when closed. the guests upstairs were horrendous (not the hotels fault)…
The bathroom tray didn’t empty as I showered and created a pool, so showering wasn’t great as was scared it would over flow. I assumed that the hotel is old so likely is just a flaw in the design so not worth making a fuss about and the rest of the room was perfectly fine.

Lovely view
Water stains on ceiling. Alot of menu choices not available. Pudding was still frozen. All microwaved kind of meals. Tiny bathroom despite it being for 2 disabled ladies. Needs a whole lot of TLC. Apparently had gone bankrupt and that was why in a poor state. In which case shouldn't be charging so much
