This home was fantastic for our large family! Super clean, great living and bedroom spaces and a beautiful large kitchen to enjoy when we weren’t out to eat on the island. We loved the pool space and screened in porch and it was perfect that every bedroom had its own bathroom for our families and kids to utilize! Beach path access right from the fenced in backyard and a quick 2 minute walk down the path to the beach! If you love the beach, this particular beach access was not crowded at all in July and some days felt like it was our own private part of the beach! We had one minor appliance issue that was dealt with promptly and was handled appropriately and we appreciated that greatly so that we could enjoy this beautiful home and our vacation!

The actual home was ideally situated and set up very well for an enjoyable stay. It was an easy walk to the beach and had a decent pool when you wanted to cool off without taking a stroll. However, the place was not well maintained and the consequences reflected very poorly on the property manager. When we arrived the rVefrigerator was not working properly. We reported this immediately and were given advice such as let the unit "warm up"; it takes time to cool the food after the change in renters. Well, needless to say, having purchased a boatload of perishables this wasn't helpful. The manager said that they would look into the matter and send a repair person our way the following day, Sunday. Never happened. We secured our own repair person who fixed the problem removing the bottom grill and cleaning the coils, which were covered with years worth of dust and grime-something that speaks to the general level of cleanliness in the home. The drain in the en-suite bathroom shower associated with the master bedroom was plugged as well as both sinks. We managed to unclog those ourselves. In addition, there was a leak under the kitchen sink, which management had addressed by placing a large bucket under the pipes. When we contacted them about this they promised to send a plumber-he never showed, even though we personally visited the office and telephoned on numerous occasions. Our advice-do not rent a Vacaasa home.

I am sorry to the owner for giving a poor review. The house itself is pretty good and the location within Sea Pines is outstanding. Vacasa is the worst rental manager on the island. They upcharged me for pool and “spa” heating separately. The pool was never heated and there is nothing that possibly could be counted as a spa, and certainly when they sold it to me it was understood that it was going to be a hot tub. It took more than a month of complaints to receive a portion of the $755 heating charge back. No explanations why the full amount wasn’t received. Further, it is impossible to get an in person meeting with them while on the island and extraordinarily difficult even to get a phone call from Vacasa. They choose to communicate via text and seemingly there is no consistency as to the individual you are communicating with.
I vacation on Hilton Head every year. I would encourage the owner to find a new rental management company and I would encourage any viewer of this comment to seek a property with a company other than Vacasa.

This home had an attentive property manager because of the many issues we had at the onset. No heat, running toilets, hole in screens, unable to open ANY windows (handles removed), gas for outdoor fireplace (for only 3 days), dirty old pool furniture, chipped plates. House was in disarray. No laundry, dishwasher or soap cleaners.
House was close to the beach so that was a plus.

Wow not sure where to start with this. I gave the residence a 2 and that was generous. The property was ok, and the location was awesome. Maintenance and cleanliness were the issue here. When we first arrived my wife does what most people do during Covid. First staying in a strange place…. wipe down and vacuum. Needless to say, counters and floors were dirty, and the vacuum had at least three different types of dog hair.
That was not a deal killer. That came in the morning when were able see the residence and notice aspects of the property that should be clean but wasn’t for our expected arrival. For example, pool, carpet, and an open termite infestation on the window ledge. Along with a pest control issue. My wife noticed bugs and after further inspection it was a “Palmetto bugs” or for those of us commonly known as roaches per maintenance guy. It was cold so they were seeking shelter. I can’t make this stuff up.
Call Vacasa and informed them of my current condition and a maintenance guy replied and stated someone will come over to handle the situation. Also, the manager of the property will contact me Monday Dec 26, 2022, to discuss my concerns. Unfortunately, no one fixed my concerns or responded to my request. But I did get this questionnaire, so I had to answer it as honestly as possible.
I left the residence a day early for that’s not what I want my family around. But like I said, house was ok but maintenance was awful. Advised Vacasa that I was leaving early, and they said thanks for coming. At this point three days later still no contact.

Beautiful spacious home
The house is very spacious and adjacent to the walking and bike paths. The kitchen was well equipped with all the conveniences we needed even though we only cooked one night. Plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for big groups. I rated check-in a 2 star because they did not include the door entry code to the house in our email check-in. A rain delay with our flight caused us to get in very late and we called the emergency after hours number - we held for close to 20 minutes for someone to help us. The person helping us looked at our email instructions and confirmed they had indeed forgotten the door key code in our instructions. I will check this in the future from now on.

Everything described in this lovely home is accurate. PLENTY of room for multiple families. Loved having en suite bath with every bedroom. Fully stocked kitchen. Proximity to beach was awesome. Vacasa was prompt on every request. We'll return to this fantastic home.

Location and cleanliness exceptional…..lamps need consistent types of bulbs not a mix of LED and incandescent…pillows not very comfortable, bring your own if you can….it would be nice if there was a welcome binder with tv manuals, etc….having stated all the above we will be coming back

Great house. Accommodated our family comfortably. This house seems so spacious. Really comfortable for families, we didn’t feel cramped at all. Lovely decor. Pool was fantastic. Close walk to beach. Beds could be a bit more comfortable, super firm, a topper would really help. Overall we would stay again without hesitation.

many complements to vacasa - great communication, easy check in process, provided for a clean house throughout, arranged for pool cleaning, provided for garbage and re-cylcing pick -up several times during the week, and provided for landscape care around the yard and around the pool
owner has provided nice upgrades throughout: furniture and beds were all comfortable; and, bathrooms were neat/clean and functional - we felt at home upon entering and appreciated all the attention to beach appropriate furnishing/art
kitchen was very well stocked - all appliances worked well
owner has provided considerate enhancements for guest use and enjoyment - removable child gate for stairs, games and puzzles, children's chairs, beach cart, beach chairs and umbrella (which we didn't use as we brought our own - owner umbrella and chairs will soon need replacement), pool and beach toys

We come to Hilton Head every year, this was one of the nicest houses we stayed at. It was very clean, close walk to the beach, and loved the pool. We would definitely stay here again!

Great home, not so great management
Our family stayed at 4 Oyster Catcher in mid May. The home itself is beautiful. Loved the decor and the layout. We had plenty of space and the location was great since it was close to the beach club but also easy access to outside of Sea Pines. Probably my only complaint about the house itself was that there really wasn't much glassware. I think there were only a handful of regular glasses and maybe 2-3 wine glasses. A re-stock of simple drinking glasses and wine glasses would be good. Overall the house was great and I would stay there again but only if it was with another management company. Because it was an unseasonably cool week in May and we had a baby with us, we called and added pool heat to our stay. With tax the charge was $640. Its a lot to pay but we figured it was worth it so we could enjoy the pool. When we arrived the pool was tepid but not warm. I thought it was just taking some time to heat up. Finally we went and checked the heater. It was set at 85. We have a pool at home that we keep around 89-90 which is is typical shoulder season temp for a pool. Unfortunately the heater temp was "locked" at 85. We called and asked them if they could turn it up just a few degrees because it was really too cold for the baby. Note that in the description about the pool heat there is nothing about a cap on the heat. It mentions that they cant guarantee that the heater can maintain the "desired temperature" if the ambient air temp is in the 50s (which is understandable), but there wasn't anything saying that there was a cap on the setting. When I spoke to the management company they said that it shouldnt be a problem and that someone would come out right away. We didn't hear anything for a while and then I got a text saying that they can't turn up the pool heat that high because the pool company said the water will "turn green". .. then they said they were going to call the owners to see if they could get permission to turn it up anyway. Having a pool at 89-90 doesn't make a pool green, btw. That is complete BS. So we waited to see if they would get permission from the owners....but we simply never heard back! They never called, never texted, NOTHING. We spent an additional $640 for something we couldn't even use, and this management company decided not to bother communicating with us and just took the money and ran. I hope the owners see this and seriously reconsider using Vacasa for their management. They have a beautiful home, but management is a big part of the enjoyment of your vacation!

Great Location
This house is right on the path to get to the beach and close to the Sea Pines Beach Club. The bedrooms are generous in size and very functional. The kitchen is large and has a fabulous eat-at counter space along with a large dining table. Overall, this is an excellent property for large families or groups.

Excellent stay
We had a wonderful time at this pleasant and stylish home. My wife and daughter and I were joined by one of my daughter's friends, and my mother-in-law. There was ample room for all five of us. And very pleased that this home also accommodated our small dog.

This house is nicely decorated, and in a great location. We walked to the beach every day, and cooked in the fully equipped kitchen almost every night. Felt like home, and was a great place to be with our family for 2 weeks!

Nice home
Very nice home, well decorated and update interior. comfortable and relaxing. Short walk to beach. Only complaint is road noise from Sea Pines Drive but it was only severe when out at the pool. Overall, we were happy and would stay here again.

The house is beautiful! Many kitchen appliances and necessary utensils are provided. We really appreciated the swivel and rocking chairs in the living room since we had small children. The kids’ room is well appointed. We also took advantage of the bike rack this year. The pool and yard are well maintained.

A perfect beach getaway.
The oyster catcher house was perfect for our beach getaway. We had four adults and four kids and the accommodations were ideal. The beds are good quality, the bathrooms are large and well appointed. The decor in the house is lovely. It is about a four minute walk to the beach down a path right behind the house. We easily transported our tent, chairs, etc. using our beach cart down the cement path. The pool is small but very private and has some shade during the day which made it the perfect escape when the beach got too hot to handle. Five stars from us!

Great family getaway
The house was wonderfully updated and decorated. The location to the beach was great and paved to the dunes which makes hauling stuff with little ones so much easier. The house was spacious and clean. We are looking forward to renting this home again!
