This property is beautifully located on tall bluffs overlooking the Long Island Sound with the sand and pebble beach shoreline in direct line of sight but only accessible via a short quarter-mile walk. The views are superb and the locale quiet and relaxing (except when the landscapers are around). The shoreside deck is large, well stocked with furnishings, and features a nice comfortable gazebo as well as a large and inviting, versatile hot tub. The house is contemporary in design, also with large and inviting open spaces decorated with a strongly aquatic theme throughout. With some work, the property might be a 5 star but there are some failings that the owners need to address. There is no orientation booklet to explain important matters like internet passwords, how to turn on the hot-tub, or how to adjust the quite complex AC system. We had to disturb the owners to do this, and while they quickly responded, things were still a little unclear. The house has every type of quality drinking glass, but decent cooking pans and a good knife set are lacking. The electric stove top is old in quite style and somewhat inadequate, the failing dishwasher has seen many better years, and the icemaker in the fridge was inoperative. All this said, we'd still return for another visit to this unusual and impressive property on the attractive and rural eastern end of Long Island.

Awesome home minutes away from everything we needed. Enjoyed the stay, best of all seeing family we have not seen in years was out greatest accomplishment.

House had beautiful, elevated views of the beach and ocean. Nice sitting out on the deck. We had a wonderful time.

RECOMMEND! View is amazing! Only real concern is AC in summer Bedrooms - master bedroom w/ huge bathroom on the 2nd level. Comfortable bed (mattress a bit hard but I liked it and slept great) - good size bedroom on main level with attached bathroom - another bedroom in the basement, but the floor is concrete so gets a bit chilly down there. There is also a bathroom down in the basement, but not attached to the bedroom. We did not use this bedroom, it was not as nice as the other two because of concrete floor. Living space: Kitchen with large island flows into dining area and family room. Couch in family room fits 5 or 6, but we did not utilize it much. The dining room table was great for 4, could fit 6. Kitchen was nice with plenty of space and a good size fridge. Outdoor space: - amazing deck with a great view of Long Island Sound. We spent most of our time out on the deck. There was also an iron-work type table on the deck which was nice for dinner or some games. - hot tub out on the deck (in a separate fenced area). Hot tub was very nice. - nice gazebo as well with couch and few comfortable chairs, provided some shade during hottest pet of day. - there is also a front deck with a 6 person table and chairs and a swing set out front. We did not have kids and did not utilize the front deck at all. Other essentials: - kitchen: we found plenty of cookware and were a ole to prepare meals at home: a few pots, pans, pitchers, knife set, measuring cups, and plenty of mugs and glasses. - yes there were two wine openers - yes there is a coffee pot - Toiletries: towels were provided, bar soap (Dove) left in all bathrooms and some liquid hand soap as well. Half full shampoo bottle provided in master bathroom. - Air conditioning: we were there in May, but we got a pretty hot weekend (mid to high 70s). There is AC in the house, but not obvious how to control it, in future would help if this was explained. - also the master bedroom has a lot of windows and got hot during the day, the AC is a bit dated and was not keeping up with the heat. Cooled down well at night (there is a fan and a lot of windows to open). - Grill: grill was in the garage, we had to wheel it out and unfortunately the starter was not working, so never used the grill. - WiFi: bad service at the house, needed to use WiFi, had to request password from contact Directions: - bad google map directions, had to look at satellite view to find way up to the house.

Great stay! Just what I needed! The view did not disappoint!
