We were there for a funeral and VRBO listed this house as 4 miles from Eastport, where our family lived. Lubec is 4 miles away from Eastport by sea not by land. Otherwise the house was gorgeous, the host was wonderful, and the town was lovely.

Our family stayed a week in Lubec in this gorgeous 5 bedroom Victorian home. There’s plenty of room to come together for meals or to enjoy the pool/patio or to watch the Olympics on the huge screen, but there are also lots of spaces for some quiet time, like the beautiful window seats-great for summer reading! and the chess nook in a little alcove upstairs. The area is so beautiful! We loved sunsets at the Fishermen’s Landing and hiking at the East Quoddy Lighthouse and Campobello Canada. Geno was a super host-he gave us a friendly welcome and information about the area and was very responsive if we needed help with anything. We had a wonderful vacation here!

We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely house. There was plenty of room to relax. The heated in ground salt water pool was a great spot to unwind at the end of the day. We enjoyed walking to the Lubec Brewing Company and local shops. I would recommend that visitors bring their passports as the bridge to Campobello Island is so close! We hope to rent again next year!

My extended family had wonderful stay. The house was spacious allowing for togetherness and time for quiet retreat. My children loved playing in the heated pool. My husband appreciated the high speed internet as he was working remotely. The house is conveniently located to downtown. Geno was incredibly responsive to all inquires and made us feel so welcomed into the space. A wonderful spot to connect with family and nature!

Geno's house is a relaxing oasis we could have spent our entire vacation at. Indoors is lovingly restored with comfortable amenities, a billiard table and musical instruments. We never even turned the TV on! The patio, complete with propane fireplace, heated pool and more comfy furniture was our favorite spot for coffee, reading, and playing. When not relaxing at the house, we were able to walk everywhere Lubec had to offer. Geno was a terrific and friendly host. We would definitely stay here again!

Geno is a wonderful host and the house and pool were perfect for our group of 10. The house is spacious, comfortable and private while being perfectly situated within walking distance of Lubec restaurants, shops, cafe, local brew pub, parks and waterfront. The Lubec area is beautiful and the community is friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat.

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful home. We loved the big kitchen and big dining room table. The pool and pool table were a huge hit. We could walk down to the water and through the town. Hiking was nearby and the people we met were so friendly and helpful. Geno was an amazing host and very responsive to us. We would stay here again and highly recommend it.

We had everything we wished for and Geno was immediately responsive to any questions. Great getaway!
We were completely relaxed from day one. There is so much beauty in the area to explore, quick access to Canada and lovely sandy beaches which is unusual for Maine.
We used the pool daily and it was a joy. Everything one needed to relax and have a good time was available.

Family Reunion
This house offers plenty of space to gather or spread out, even for our group of 9. The pool and pool table were great entertainment after a day of watching the sunrise, hiking and sightseeing. Geno was always available to answer questions or replace the propane tank for the grill. Lubec is a welcoming town and we will return.

Relaxing
This is a beautiful Victorian home in lovely Lubec, that’s perfect for families. We enjoyed the pool table inside and the outdoor patio and saltwater pool outside. I found the jetted tub in the master bathroom to be my favorite feature! So relaxing! Master bed was quite comfy. There were plenty of clean linens, and extra blankets for the chilly evenings. The location was great as well. Geno, the home owner, took good care of the property - very kind, attentive, and responsive anytime we needed anything. I definitely recommend this home.

Lovely retreat
We enjoyed our time in Geno’s home in Lubec. The pool was warm and so much fun for my kids. There was plenty of room for reading or playing cards or pool or watching a movie together. The beautiful stained glass in the windows and roses blooming by the front porch added to the charm of this home. I would highly recommend it!

Awesome Getaway in Quaint Maine Stay
My wife and I headed far north for a week to get away from it all. There was no better place to do this than Lubec, Maine. The house we stayed at was comfortable in every nook. We slept extremely well on the cozy king in the master bedroom. We spent most of our time in the various rooms on the ground floor including the extension with the pool table and large wall-mounted TV. We also enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with all the utensils we needed as well as dining on the long wooden table capable of seating a much larger group than us two.
Every corner of the house was well designed and comfortable. The neighborhood around the house was wonderful for a stroll, including a short walk to see the otters in the river between the USA and Canada.
Our interaction with the owner, Geno, was easy-going and he was super nice and extremely responsive.
And from Lubec, we were able to visit many of Maine's State Parks for hiking and visiting nature, one of the many reasons we chose the area.
I highly recommend Geno and his Lubec house for anyone who wants to get away for vacation.

A lovely month in Lubec
Two families stayed for a month. Lubec is a lovely town and you’re never far from the shore! It was also a great place to work remotely. The house was as advertised, Geno was very responsive when we contacted him, and the pool is just as awesome as it looks! Thank you Geno for your hospitality!

The way life should be!
This is the perfect vacation spot. The house was absolutely amazing with a great layout and full unique character. It fit our family perfectly. The pool was great for warm afternoons and the outdoor fire was a great place to hang out on cool evenings. The pool table was bonus! There was always something for everyone to do. The owner and caretaker were kind and helpful and responded quickly to any of our questions. The location couldn't be better, a close walk to everything Lubec has to offer. It's the perfect vacation town and house we can't wait to go back! Thank you for the wonderful memories!

First Timers
The stay was overall very pleasant. I would just wished the description would of been more clearer for the rooms. I thought the jacuzzi room was included with everything. I was really looking forward to that room but it turn out it was a separate rental so it couldn't be used-_-

This is an amazing property!
This is the perfect place to spend a week with your family. My 8 year old and my nieces and nephews loved the pool, which is absolutely amazing. The grown ups had lots of space to visit. Perfect! What Geno has built here is truly special and we will absolutely be back!

Tread Carefully
Owner double-booked our stay. If not for the kind people that were displaced to 2 or 3 other locations for the rest of their stay, my family of 9 from TX, including 80 yr old parents, would have been struggling to find other accommodations to suit our needs. To make matters worse, the owner completely mishandled the situation. He was rude and at first treated me like it had to be my fault even though I had booked months in advance and was fully paid just as he required over our phone conversation. I had to drive 20 minutes inland to be able to talk to him and he acted so angry that my cell service wouldn't reach from the property. He even had a friend come over that proceeded to tell me that I would have to "face reality" and "get over it" because "Geno certainly wasn't going to fix the problem from Nantucket". Really?
As for the property, this is definitely an absentee-owner house. The pictures are true but what you don't see are things like the filthy upholstery in the den. Stained and obviously not cleaned in quite some time. The whole house needs a deep clean that no housekeeper could possibly get done between renters. There are 5 bedrooms but what he doesn't detail is that 2 of them are on a third floor with 2 stairs so steep that I, a 5'3" female, even had to turn my foot sideways to fit on the stair. Definitely not up to any modern code and very awkward and dangerous for most. The 5th bedroom is attached to the 4th and has only a tiny window to circulate air. He provides one tiny fan. No dressers of any sort, but there are closets in most rooms although my room had no rod in the closet so I scrounged the house for hangers and hung them on the bedrail. No overhead lighting in the bedrooms except perhaps the master? Usually one small lamp by each bed. Toilet paper? One-half roll in each bath so you will need to make an immediate trip to the store. Propane tank for grill was empty. There is the huge tv he speaks of but with 4 remotes and vague, sloppily written directions only 1 of us was able to get things running. Vegetable gardens? Overgrown, un-kept perennial bed behind the garage. At least I guess that was it? Never found another that could possible pass for a garden.
I could elaborate further on how this played out, but my advise is to skip this property. I heard this was not the first time the owner had done this, but I have no proof of that. Why risk it? Lubec is a beautiful town full of beautiful people and places to stay. Move on.

An Ohio Families trip to Lubec.
We enjoyed our vacation very much. The house was perfect for our family. We had plenty of space and there was enough entertainment for everyone. The only thing we did not have were dressers. We enjoy unpacking during our vacations and there were no dressers in any of the rooms. However, everything else was perfect. Thanks for a great week.

Perfect Getaway
The description of this house is spot on. Well kept victorian within walking distance to the town center, to the IGA, a church, the restaurants and water.
The kitchen was perfect for this family, all we had to provide was the food and cook it. The family room with pool table was great, especially on our one rainy day. Want to read, you can sit in the beautifully living room.
The master bedroom was so large with its spa-like bathroom, with a jetted tub. All the bedrooms were a great size for all of us. The yard in the front is spacious. We had the babies out there enjoying the weather.
It's a one minute drive to the bridge and border to go to Campobello Island in Canada.
Having a washer and dryer was fantastic because we could bring less clothing and then go home with clean clothes.
The pictures of the house are what the house truly looks like. Take a chance it's worth it!

Exactly what we wanted
We stayed at this home when traveling to the area on an off season trip. We have stayed in various rentals before, but this one was the best so far. We cook our own meals, and the full kitchen with island was a real plus for us. We spent considerable time in the family room (although the French doors were closed since it rained almost the entire week), and we found it comfortable and relaxing. The master bedroom on the second floor was spacious and the master bath was exceptional. This house has been remodeled to open up rooms and makes good use of the space. We really wanted to go up to the widow's walk, but again the rain stopped us. If we're back in the area in the future, we will definitely look to stay here again.

TRUST THESE PHOTOS!!
The first thing to say about this home is trust the photos. This home is wonderful; the quality of the home speaks for itself in the photos. Sometimes vacation homes show you the good sides but here all sides are good and it is every bit as nice as it looks. The home is spacious and open with lots of room for multiple activities from shooting pool, listening to music, watching the big screen, reading or, my favorite, sitting on the front porch with a good book.
It is in a neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown Lubec, easy walking. Here you will find a surprising number of good places to eat. There is a small coffee/ bakery, sandwich shop at the end of the street for fresh baked muffins, cookies, bread and breakfast sandwiches. You can get lunch and for an early dinner the pizza is wonderful with a sort of sweet, yeasty tasting home made crust.
Frank’s, a block further down Water Street, and you can get a bargain on a fresh fried fish basket. No alcohol sold but BYOB is encouraged with no corkage charged! The local IGA market takes some searching for things but it is surprisingly well stocked just not all similar items are together. Across from the deli counter and far from the bread aisle you may find some nice artisan breads and down the shelf, if you look close, Starbucks coffee beans. I mention that because a good cup of coffee may be the single disappointment of you vacation in Lubec but you can brew your own. The home has a coffee bean grinder in the kitchen. While the IGA may not have your vintage, Parker 91 point, wines they do a nice job with a selection of low and mid priced wines and prices as good as the well know New Hampshire liquor stores.
While we were there we experienced plenty of cultural/entertainment activities. We ate chicken with music in the park one evening and another evening we enjoyed a piano concert in a near by church. You can check the various posters in shop windows or you can just talk to the folks in town and you will learn even more.
We’re from Florida and we usually head for the western mountains in summer but this year friends convinced us to come to Lubec. Absolutely no regrets, we loved the town and Geno’s home was the perfect places for us to be for the 2 weeks we were here.
