Location of the venue to the attractions and reservations I made all around NYC. The hotel itself had a nice look in the lobby area.

Issues in the hotel: damaged iron that burned my clothing, the water fountain at the gym doesnt work, the wardrobe rod bracket was missing from our room so we had nowhere to hang clothes, the room curtains would jam when opening and closing (we stayed on the ground level/C floor/ so very important for curtains to work to maintain our privacy), the STAFF criticizes their patrons freely in open spaces without concern
My husband and I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 6406 Queens Blvd (Service Rd), Queens for a romantic getaway weekend around NYC. Day one we had reservations for a yacht/dinner cruise. Since there was nowhere to hang our clothing they got a little wrinkled and naturally I wanted to look my best for our elegant night out. When using their iron for my “iron safe” labeled dress, the iron burned through my dress on contact in an instant. When inspecting the damage and iron i saw that there was a large black stain on the hot side of the iron and extensive prior burn damages signifying the iron was never replaced despite it being faulty.
I respectfully requested to speak with a manager but was told “there was no manager on site.” Someone came to my room and took pictures of everything and told me a manager would call me the next day. My husband was outside our room when the staff left my room. He heard the staff saying I was being “CHEAP for ironing the dress and not dry cleaning the dress!” ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Imagine providing a subpar lodging space and defective equipment, then blaming your guest for their abysmal experience for being “cheap” because they chose to stay with you company!? Ridiculous! It is so distasteful, disrespectful and UNPROFESSIONAL to have the hotel staff talk so poorly of their guests IN THE HALLWAYS OF THE HOTEL. I NEVER spoke to the hotel staff in a rude way and NEVER got loud for them to talk about me in that way.
Needless to say, manager NEVER called me.

Das Personal war freundlich, die Zimmer geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet mit Kühlschrank, Kaffeeautomat, kostenlosem Safe etc. Das Hotel liegt relativ zentral. Die Bushaltestelle ist um die Ecke, zur Bahn benötigt man ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß, um nach Manhatten zu kommen. Supermarkt, Pizza, Tankstelle alles in der Nähe. Frühstück war für amerikanische Verhältnisse gut und im Preis inklusive. Kaffee und Tee gab es Rund um die Uhr kostenlos.
Das Hauskeeping hat in der Woche das Zimmer nicht einmal gründlich geputzt. Es wurden zweimal die Betten gemacht und auf Anfrage die Handtücher gewechselt. Wir hatten das Zimmer zur Hauptstraße, sodass es bei geöffnetem Fenster schon sehr laut war. Zumal sich nebenan auch direkt eine Feuerwache befindet.

The bed and pillows at a holiday inn express are reliably comfortable, and I loved the Dove toiletries. Much nicer than I’d expect.
There wasn’t a bathroom near the breakfast area, the staff that we checked in with was super unfriendly, the staff that came in to replace her was too busy eating his dominos right there on the front desk to even answer a question about the shuttle in the morning without food rolling around in his mouth while he talked, and he “said” he would put us on the 6am shuttle to get to our flight on time. We asked him to confirm that it was done. He said oh yeah it’s done don’t worry about it, you’ll be with the flight crew that is leaving in the morning on the same shuttle.
We got downstairs the next morning and the flight crew had already left at 5:30, there WAS NO 6AM SHUTTLE, and he would have seen all of this if he could have put down his pizza for thirty seconds to look.
Then, someone with a key card came into our room in the middle of the night while we were sleeping and threw on all of the lights and started coming into the room. This key card had to have been issued by the pizza eater, as he was the only front desk staff. So, either it was housekeeping (but in the middle of the night?!?) or he gave a stranger a key to our room?!?! What the heck.
The morning staff was very nice but he also couldn’t give us a straight answer. He told us the shuttle would be back at 6:10. It was, but he refused to leave until 6: 30.

There was nothing to like.
I made a reservation at this hotel weeks in advance due to the convenient location for my visit to my son. The morning I was scheduled to check in I was called and told that I no longer had a room there and that they would be shuttling me to another Holiday Inn obviously not in walking distance. This pretty much messed up my entire trip since I planned on walking to my sons place.

Le service de navette inclus dans le prix n’est pas disponible après minuit, même si votre vol arrive tardivement. D’autres hôtels et même de la même chaîne offrent de payer le taxi au client, mais eux ont refusé catégoriquement. J’ai dû payer 30$ US pour me rendre à l’hôtel (5 minutes de taxi).
Aussi les hotel d’aéroport servent le déjeuner assez tôt pour nous permettre de manger avant un vol matinal, eux ne l’offent qu’à partir de 6h30.
Donc pour le prix, je n’ai pas pu déjeuner et je n’ai pas eu de navette. Cette réservation Nené valait pas la peine.

Clealliness and excellent treatment from the manager...
The bad behaviour and attitude that I got from the receptionist lady by the name of Rachel.
I believe some customers are turned away from the hotel by this Rachel lady as she also sent me away at first to look for other hotels.
I like holiday inn hotel that's my favorite place of rest even In Africa when I travel I use the same hotel but the lady wasn't welcoming at all there in NewYork. Her service was pathetic 😒. Some other ladies were so kind.

We were 2 elderly ladies and nobody helped us to carry the luggage from taxi to hotel entrance.
My both the debit cards are working but they only didn't work in your hotel.
They don't even accept cash.
They didn't even allow us to use wash rooms.
I had to cancel my stay n booked a taxi to go to JFK back and stayed at the airport for the whole night.
Your hotel and services too bad didn't care about the customers.

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und modern eingerichtet.
Es gab keinen Reinigungsservice. Dreimal haben wir nachgefragt. Es wurde lediglich einmal in der Woche der Müll abgeholt und die Handtücher wurden einmal gewechselt und das auch nur, weil wir nochmal nachgefragt haben. Klopapier mussten wir an der Rezeption abholen.

Am always billeted on the first floor (second time) even though reservation was made months in advance. No choice to transfer to other floors as if the hotel considers you a captive guest due to your advance reservation and the more pleasant rooms seemed to be reserved for new arrivals.

There's nothing to dislike about the hotel itself at that time because it was brand new and everything seemed untouched. I don't know how it will be in one year as I assume the traffic through there will be consistent and heavy.
There were two staff members at the front desk who were clearly pissed off at each other and their attitudes were not so great. There was an elderly lady who was very helpful, but check in took over 20 minutes and I was the only person there.

Good breakfast choices.
Rooms were extremely dirty. The first room we got was not ready, so they gave us another room, which was smelling of mold. Then they upgraded us to another room, a suite, which was decent in size and cleanliness. However, the cleaners forgot to made our rooms a couple of times in a week we stayed at the hotel and we had to go twice to the reception asking for clean towels. A bit disappointing that all we got as a “sorry” were few points on the loyalty card. To be fair, if this is the normal service the provide, I won’t be staying at the holiday inn again.

Struttura molto accogliente in un quartiere residenziale tranquillissimo, a circa 10 minuti a piedi dalla stazione della metro che in pochi minuti permette di raggiungere i punti più importanti di NYC, mentre il bus lascia praticamente davanti alla porta dell’hotel. In zona sono presenti anche alcuni alimentari e minimarket (in particolare Dollar Tree che permette di risparmiare molto!). Nonostante New York sia famosa per la sua rumorosità, non abbiamo sentito alcun rumore grazie alle finestre che isolano perfettamente, e anche dalle altre stanze non si sentiva nulla, quindi abbiamo dormito perfettamente. I letti sono eccezionali, il materasso era comodissimo ed è possibile scegliere tra un cuscino morbido e uno un po’ più duro: comodissimi entrambi per noi che siamo abituati a dormire con cuscini in memory foam. Ottima la colazione, non troppo variegata e anzi per diversi giorni mancavano alcuni prodotti, ma tutto era molto buono, inclusi i pancake sfornati al momento dalla macchina automatica, davvero un’ottima idea.
In generale l’hotel ci è piaciuto molto, e se si fosse trovato a Manhattan sicuramente il prezzo sarebbe stato decisamente più alto, ma comunque la posizione è abbastanza comoda, seppur, chiaramente, si debba usare i mezzi per spostarsi.
L’unico problema che devo segnalare la pulizia, o meglio la frequenza della pulizia, perché quando la stanza veniva pulita non c’era nessun problema. In stanza è presente un foglio che spiega che la pulizia completa viene effettuata solo ogni 5 giorni, mentre ogni giorno promettono di rifare il letto e cambiare le tovaglie. Purtroppo, però, per ben due giorni su sette, ciò non è avvenuto e ho dovuto chiedere almeno le tovaglie alla reception. Consiglio dunque di migliorare il servizio di pulizia, perché un hotel del genere merita di meglio.

Le ménage. Il y a un gros gros effort à faire au niveau de l’entretien. Ma fille avait le pantalon noir de saleté en marchant à 4 pattes. Elle a trouvé un tube de crème appartenant à un ancien occupant. La bonde de douche était remplie de cheveux des précédents occupants. En une semaine, le sol n’a jamais été lavé et les draps non jamais été changé.

A true gem, absolutely exceeded expectations. Everything spotless, brand new, and with an amazing breakfast, it saved us a ton of money in an otherwise very expensive city. The room and bathroom both very spacious and with high quality Dove soaps and products, all very sensitive skin friendly. Great location, safe easy walk to the subway and train station. For the first night we got a room on the ground floor in front of the dining hall, it was noisy and smelly from 5am. We asked for a new room and the receptionist lady immediately did everything to make it happen in less than an hour. Another day when we had some misplaced towels, the cleaning staff was also eager to help and sort it out. When asking for late checkout, they were also very flexible and helpful. All in all, if there's one top thing to highlight here, it's the staff, they were always super attentive and customer focused, it made our stay very pleasant. Kudos to all of them.
The bed mattress was a bit too soft to our taste and caused some back problems. Really nothing else to complain about, it's a great place, we loved it.
