We’ve stayed in several different places on our visits to Galena, but this time we decided to stay closer to downtown. This was the perfect place for us. Easy to get anywhere by walking, and nice to home to and rest up for more exploring. We’d definitely recommend this place and will stay here again.

Cute house with great location

This house is right off the main strip in Galena so a great location to get right to the heart of everything. Great that there is reserved parking off the backyard to ensure you have a place to park after heading out for the day. Check in and out was super easy. It's an older house with steep stairs so that might be a consideration for some, but we had a great time. Wish we could have enjoyed the back patio more but our visit was short and jam-packed with events.

The location of this rental home is perfect for visiting downtown Galena. It is a small, but comfortable home. The two beds are only full/double size, so my husband & I each took a bedroom since we are used to much more sleeping space. Both beds are comfortable though. The cleanliness of the home needs a lot of improving in our opinion. This home has A LOT of nautical memorabilia and most of it was pretty cool. But if you're going to be a collector of such stuff...keep it clean! A lot of dust, old cobwebs, dirty ceiling fans, etc. When my husband notices a place is dirty...it is. And if there is parking available in front of the house, GET IT! The stairs coming down from the parking pad behind the house are a force to be reckoned with...especially in a torrential downpour that we had when we arrived! And this house is for anyone with mobility issues. But with the great location, we were able to walk every where we wanted to go & we had a very enjoyable weekend.

The deer in the yard at night was a plus. Great location.

Nautical House was exactly as the pictures depict. We felt very safe and were happy that it was very quiet. There are a lot of stairs (54) that lead to the parking pad. Also, the box on the door that allows entry is not intuitive if one hasn't used this type of lock. After about 5 minutes of fooling around with it we had success. We would stay there again.

Perfect spot, walk everywhere could not get closer to Main Street! Great front porch and back deck perfect for grilling and sipping some wine!!! Great place to stay, highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the nautical house. This spot on Main Street was perfectly situated along the river and within walking distance to everything. Although a larger bed would have been nice, we knew going in that each room only had full sized beds and the location more than made up for that. Check in was easy, the house was clean and filled with everything we needed.

Very comfortable home. It was nice to relax in the private backyard or the front porch which had a very nice view of the Galena River. We also loved the proximity to all the shops/restaurants on Main Street.

The house was conveniently located in downtown Galena with its own private parking on the street above. The house was wonderfully decorated in the nautical theme with unique antiques and actual photos of riverboat life long ago. The only suggestion I would have is for the owners to place darker shades or blackout curtains in the bedrooms windows as the street lights are very bright.

Location fantastic. You could walk to everything but it was just off edge of main drag so you couldn't hear people. Fabulous bakery and coffee less than two blocks away. Parking up on hill behind house so be prepared for stairs. Bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. It's an old house and has the quirks of an old house and it matches Galena in that there isn't a level floor in the entire town. Kitchen basic and older but we weren't really cooking. Nautical theme over the top in a "your quirky aunt's vacation cabin" sort of way. Beds comfortable and linens and towels clean. Front porch great to drink coffee on. Patio in back. Galena located next to a train track. You will hear trains in most of the city. This house no exception. Would absolutely stay here again.

My friend and I had a marvelous stay. The property is at the south end of Main Street - all walkable to the shops and eateries. Due to the recent snow, we parked out front - and had no problem doing so, Street parking is limited to 3-hour windows during the day (7 days a week) - but at least during out stay, we did not see this checked. Both bedrooms and the 1-1/2 bathrooms are upstairs - beds were comfortable. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

The house was super cute and cozy and definitely lived up to it's "Nautical" name with the decor. The house is perfectly located right next to downtown and you have parking, couldn't ask for much more. The house had everything you need to get situated, TP, kitchen utensils, etc. Check-in and Check-out was super easy, almost seamless. We would highly recommend and definitely stay again!

If your goal is to have a parking spot, and be walking distance to the shops and restaurants, this is your place!. It is literally the first house outside of the flood gates. Kitchen is a bit small, but that is too be expected.

This is our second stay at this property. They continually exceed our expectations. Jolene was is very responsive and so sweet. The home is always super clean, and the beds are so comfortable. We will be staying again!! Thank you for a great Thanksgiving Weekend!

Walk everywhere easily from the house. Clean and awesome location. Parking pad was convenient. Wonderful stay!

We liked this rental. The front porch is great, and the back patio/deck would be an amazing space to grill out although we did not use that as we didn't have a lot of time. Would prefer if one of the rooms had a queen size bed as there is certainly room for it, but not a huge deal. One thing that could be a major deal for some- The private parking spaces are behind the house and up a substantial number of steps from the deck as shown in the pictures, they are NOT the ones on the street in front of the house. Those are public and you cannot park overnight there. Not sure how this would be managed in the winter time with a snow event.
