We planned on staying here for our mini overnight vacation. When we got to Galveston they informed us that this particular property wouldn't be ready for us and instead were offered another property on Jamaica beach which worked great in the long run. I appreciate the communication and we understand things can happen beyond our control. We got a beautiful house on the beach still and my daughter who has never been got to have a once in a lifetime mini vacation.

Overall the property was OK. The big issue was we picked out and paid for a house on the beach this was not at all on the beach. We found out one week before our trip which included our entire family and was fully paid for that the house we paid for wasn’t an an option any longer. This house was way way off the beaten path. Due to the bugs and weather the pool was useless. We had planned on a true beach trip that was not possible this location. We had to find and spend extra money to entertain the family due to the last second switch on the original house. Overall this house needs a lot of work. Only two burners worked in the kitchen which made cooking for 7 people difficult. The balcony out back was leaning to a point we didn’t use it. The house is in a terrible spot for bugs nonstop and just little things here and there that didn’t hold up. Overall it’s unlikely we will use vrbo again. We spent months planning this beach vacation and it’s simply wasn’t a beach vacation at all. We made the drive a few times to the beach but with 4 kids and 2 dogs and walking no longer an option we spent an additional $300 just getting the car cleaned when we got home. Very disappointing just be careful. Thanks

maintenance problems throughout - lock box for entrance did not work / corroded; main oven did not work, floor on main floor sandy/ dirty upon our arrival. Wish the elevator was available; hauling all our food / beverages and suitcases up the stairs proved exhausting because we are over 70 years old. But overall we ignored the problems and enjoyed our stay - great neighborhood and entrance to the beach

There was an issue with the original house we selected so this was a sub house. It was great & better than expected. Very nice! Lots of rooms and plenty of bathrooms.

Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway with young kids. The proximity to the beach, and having the small soaking tub in the backyard was perfect for our 3 and 5 year old.

Great location. Was once a nice house, needs renovations. Saw 2 monster roaches. Tile needs replaced and central air quit us the last night.

The location was great but it ends there! The AC was awful, did not cool! It felt better being outside than inside…it’s July in Galveston Texas!!! Five bedrooms and bathrooms with one AC u it that DID NOT cool! Cockroaches the size of your feet! The couch was very uncomfortable! We go to Florida or Galveston every summer and have stayed in alot of beach houses and this was by far the worst! The refrigerator was not the best for storage and the ice machine did not work! The owners obviously do not care about their clients because for the price of staying at this house, they could easily buy two new couches, replace the AC units and maybe add another one and remodel the bathrooms that were very small but had broken tiles everywhere. We called for service on AC units and were totally blown off! I would not recommend this house to anyone unless the owners step up and put some love into this house! The blinds on the windows were broken and in bad shape! I am sorry to sound so negative but I would consider staying somewhere else!

The pictures look a lot nicer than the house. The carpet and furniture was stained and worn. Water was leaking from one of the downstairs showers onto the floor and the tile was cracked because the floor is sagging. There was blue masking tape covering the cracks. The drain from the other downstairs shower smells really bad. There is a shower curtain in the shower upstairs that was put up after the glass door broke. I was embarrassed to have my in-laws in this house with us. The lights and fan weren’t working in the living room when we arrived. The electrician fixed it by bypassing a badly damaged segment of wires which doesn’t inspire confidence. When the AC would kick on, the lights in the house would dim. Box fans were required to make the temperature tolerable. There was a roach/insect problem. This is not a luxury listing despite the high price. The location was great as advertised. We basically had the beach to ourselves. When I informed the management company of my concerns, they blew me off and let me know they’d pass it on to the owner. I do not recommend this place for the price. I would not stay here again.

We stayed two nights and agree with many of the other reviews that the description of this property left out key details of the condition this house is in. When main fan setting is placed on high, it rotates so slow that it did not circulate any air. When AC would set to 71, thermostat read actual temp to be 80-81 degrees. Handle in one restroom was loose and would fall off. Hung a towel on the hook next to restroom and hook fell right off the wall. Tile in the other bathroom is cracked with divots. Put juice popsicles in freezer in the morning and more than 24 hrs later was not frozen, dipping pool was not maintained and sandy, not clean. Loose boards on deck, living room Furniture covered with a thin blanket to cover stains. Owners were responsive when mentioning these complaints and asked if we wanted maintenance to come out, but we only stayed for two nights and by the time it could have possibly been fixed, we would already be packing up to leave. Paying over $1500+ a night I would have expected not to have these issues. Property does have potential, loved the fire pit and convenience to the beach, but unfortunately came across enough issues to not warrant the price it os listed at. It was liked they slapped lipstick on a pig for a lack of better terms. We still made the most of our time, but wish the pictures and description were more honest and accurate.

The pics of the house are old and deceiving. There are alot of areas of the house that have just been neglected by the owners. Structural issue are a problem that isn't being addressed. Tile in lower deck baths are cracked and move when stepped on; 1 actually leaks thru to the garage underneath. Shower valve knobs come off in your hand. The kitchen faucet is a mobile thing, as it is not connected to the sink properly. Carpet on stairs has never been cleaned. The deck boards are very uneven and loose. Some of the outside electrical outlets don't work. The end of the private crosswalk to the beach has grown up and not well maintained. Read ALL reviews for this property, especially the negatives (all are true for the most part). The pros to this is it is on a private beach, it is spacious with 4 bdrms and 4 baths. This property has a lot of potential and could be a really nice place with a lot of TLC.

We brought the extended family out for a beach vacation. This house was located right on the beach and made it very simple to enjoy it each day. Being able to eat meals overlooking the Gulf and not having to pack into a car to drive to the beach was a great perk.

This beachfront home was perfect for our family vacation! The private walkover was a huge plus, and allowed us to easily walk back to the home from the beach to make lunch. The home itself was spacious and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We particularly enjoyed the ocean view from the deck! The kitchen was stocked with all the basics and the bedrooms were cozy. The location couldn't have been better! We were just steps away from the sand and the soothing sound of the waves. This home was a dream come true for us and we can't wait to return!

The photos are deceptive and misleading. I wish I could post my own pics I took while there. Here’s what you’ll find if you book…. • Roaches, Mice & Ants - Droppings in the kitchen cabinets where the dishes are stored • Bunk beds - Lower bed is 2" from the floor (no thanks with roaches and mice nearby) & top bunk is too high, nearly impossible to use with ceiling fans • Outdoor furniture missing, upper deck only has 1 chair Lower deck only has 1 working lounge chair, no cushion as pictured • Rugs missing from family room, dining room & outdoor patio • Blankets on sofas to hide stains, the pretty throw pillows are missing • Can’t use closet in 1 room because bunk bed is against it • Closet doors missing in upstairs bedroom • Glass shower door in master bath is gone, shower curtain instead (glass frame still there) • Sliding door on upstairs balcony off track & hard to open • Lots of cracks in tile throughout house • Carpet on stairs is stained, huge one at the top landing Looks like this was an issue since Jan 2021, still not cleaned • Windows sealed poorly, can hear traffic as if windows are open. At night when lights are on, lots of bugs come in kitchen window through gapping areas around window • The only entry door into the house is hard to open because it scrapes the floor as it opens • Basic things in kitchen missing like a cookie sheet, can opener and oven gloves • The GFCI outlets in the downstairs baths didn't work • Party lights on deck plugged in with extension cord – doesn’t seem up to code • Exterior is weather-beaten, the decking has rot issues that have been painted over • Grill is rusted out and top falls off when opened • Window shutters on outside are all rusted • The dishwasher handle prevents the adjacent cabinet drawers from opening fully unless the dishwasher is opened Nice property for a large party of college kids who are on a tight budget. Truly not worth the top dollar we spent for a family vacation. When we complained to the owner & mgmt company, we were accused of trying to get a free vacation. They sent out an exterminator at our insistence – BUT, he was only there to "assess" and not treat. So, the owner got his report showing evidence of MICE, ROACHES and ANTS and did nothing! The listing is False, inaccurate and misleading!

Nice location, plenty of room. Furniture was worn and would recommend updating. Parking can be tricky if you are traveling with multiple groups. Overall experience was good. Very quiet and relaxing.

We were so excited for our multigenerational family to get together after a very challenging year; however, that was short lived. Pictures were not an accurate depiction of current condition of house. The house was short a bed and only sleeps 18, unless you count the dinky sofas. Roach infestation downstairs with roach droppings in every cabinet and on counters, including where dishes are stored. One bathroom shower had tile grout that looked like a child did it- mounds of dry grout on walls and shower floor. House was dirty where we didn’t feel comfortable enough to go barefoot. Host was not always responsive either. Needless to say, the house was very disappointing.

Parking was difficult. Saw several roaches. Can't use ceiling fans in bunk room or they will take your head off. We couldn't use top bunks at all because of the ceiling fans.

Deceiving very misleading, This property is extremely misleading. The home was initially remodeled however when we rented it it looks like there have been many parties and then put lipstick on a pig. The front door was completely different, the glass in the master shower was replaced by a curtain. The grout was unevenly patched again. Quick fixed from crack tiles… The Main problem that this home has is huge cockroaches. We killed at least seven. Kitchen counter and bedrooms downstairs. I understand that people have cockroaches in Texas. But if you are on top of an exterminator you don’t have them. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! The photos Do not look like what is originally in the home. Blankets thrown over the couches to cover up many stains, there are no rugs on the floors. The rooms are extremely small. We moved a small table that was downstairs upstairs to one of the bedrooms to have a nightstand. The downstairs bathroom had a sewage smell for the entire time. Chipped tiles, mold in grout.

This was exactly what we wanted - away from crowds but still easy drive to activities. Very clean and plenty of beds, towels, space for everyone. Best view!

Owner has a few minor issues to resolve: downstairs toilet in bedroom at foot of stairs keeps running, lots of safety straps missing on outside stairs, stains on couch, throw pillows leaking feathers everywhere, blind slat on kitchen window broken, wall switches need to be marked, hit storm shutters by mistake, metal boxes for storm shutters need repairs. Nothing hindered our great stay, but don't think housekeeping telling owner about these items.

Myself and 3 co workers went on a weekend-business relax meeting. The location is quiet and private (not like a lot of travelers like at sea wall). We were able to relax, work some, and enjoy the beach. The property was awesome.Everything like the pictures! We will return again, soon!

The beach was absolutely perfect! I think this is the only area I've ever been to in Galveston that didn't feel crowded. We had direct access from the home to what felt like our private little oasis on the sand! We set up a tent and left our stuff out all day without worry as we went back and forth from the house to the beach. The home was beautiful as well, well furnished and loaded with towels, paper goods, all we needed to enjoy ourselves on vacation. The cleaners were wrapping up when we arrived, and they did a fantastic job, everything was immaculate.

We were very pleased with our stay. The location was right on the beach with easy access. Beach was private so not crowded at all.

Awesome to see the beach from the comfort of our own balcony, a perfect place to unwind, relax & enjoy the beach. This location in Freeport is excellent, a distance from the Galveston Seawall which is overcrowded. The convenience of a private walkway to the beach. The sound of the waves from the house is so peaceful & serene. Love the cleanliness, having a bathroom in each room is excellent and clean. the availability to cook our own meals is desirable. My family all made the trip around DFW for a summer vacation, and we couldn't have been happier to experience Galveston in this house! The views from the decks are gorgeous, and the beach, as somebody mentioned before, is basically private. There were a few other people out, but nothing like the crowds we saw driving along the sea wall. Everything about the home was perfect for us and we're planning to make a return trip next year!

Loved the house ! It was comfortable and spacious. The 4 bathrooms are awesome - allowed for everyone to have their own space without having to wait in line. The master bedroom was beautiful and I loved being able to see the sun rise over the gulf from bed. I would recommend you being what you need to cook. The kitchen is in great working order but not stocked well. We assumed there would be a frying pan but the only thing available was a pasta pot. Made for some creative cooking. Overall, would love to go back again.

Location on private beach made all the difference. Beds were incredibly comfortable, kitchen well supplied and house was nicely decorated.

Well equipped kitchen for a large group. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Washing machine didn't work, but owner sent a repairman out early the next day. Front row beach house with private bridge. Had a great time!

The house has ocean views and direct beach access. The beach is restricted from cars - another positive. Oh, and the living room TV worked well, as did the wifi. Now if that's all you're absolutely looking for, then this is absolutely the house for you. So, what's not to like? Let's put this in the context of a house that costs almost $1,400 per night. 1) The drive to the front of the house had a large, waterfilled pothole. 2) To not block the drive, we had access to a garage stacked with construction materials and beer cans. 3) There was a broken window repaired with ill-fitted plywood and duct tape (no permanent repair was offered or made during our stay). 4) The only door into the house was stuck. We muscled it open and managements repair was a guy with a hammer. 5) Instructions say not to lower the thermostat below 70 degrees. That wasn't really a question, the house wouldn't cool below 70 degrees anyway. 6) In the beautiful kitchen, the icemaker didn't work, the garbage disposal was filled with literal trash with spare change (another unhappy guest?) and the "fully equipped" kitchen seemed to be lacking a skillet or anything resembling a baking sheet. 7) Look at the beautiful pictures of the house on VRBO. Where are the area rugs in the living room, dining room and kitchen? Don't try those party lights on the deck. Someone didn't replace the outlet cover and after a rain, the lights trip the GFCI. Where are the cushions on those recliners? Where's the little deck at the foot of the dune crossover? Is that a glass shower door in the master bath? All I saw was a shower rod and curtain stuffed into what was left of the frame. 8) Surely there couldn't be anything else wrong, could there? The GFCI outlets in both of the downstairs baths didn't work. The ensuite bathroom off the 1st level bunkroom was unventilated and was a mold growing machine. Railing balustrades were missing and loose. Finally, the lack of regard for the condition of this house is summed up by the condition of the private sewer system of the house. The wiring for the pump must have been damaged, so it turns out the electricity is being provided via an extension cord from the garage. No, that's not code in Galveston County. There's actually more, but I think I have made my point about the relative worth of this property.
